 Fault Code 12 - Battery Disconnect
OBD1 DTC's for 1994-1997 Rams with Gas Engines

This code means that the battery power to the computer has been lost sometime within the last 50 restarts of the engine. Every new car arriving at the dealership probably has a code 12 in its memory. This is because the engine on that car has not yet been started 50 times.

Any time the battery is disconnected for more than 15 seconds, code 12 will be set and most other codes will be erased.
