This explains in detail what happened to me...
ATTENTION: SERVICE MANAGER, ST. ALBERT DODGE (RICK)
This is in response to the absolutely terrible service I received on Friday, September 28.
I called ahead approximately a week in advance to book an appointment to have the rear pinion seal replaced on my 2006 Dodge 3500. I was told that I wouldn't be able to get until next Friday at the time. So, I had to drive around with this defect for over a week. I put a lot of mileage on my truck
and to have to do this is a very compromising position for myself and my investment. I arrived at Bob's service desk at 7:00 sharp on the morning of my appointment. I have to work at Finning in the West end, so getting there early is in my best interest. I am an hourly employee and my time is money.
I did not arrive at work until 8:00. I waited all morning to find out what was going on with my truck- Bob put in a promise time of 10:30. At 12:30 my truck had still not gone in. At 2:30 I called again and spoke to Bob. He said at the time that my truck was not going to get in for service today.
What?! Not going to get in for service today? I made an appointment a week in advance to have this done. I also took time off of work. First off, Mr service manager, do you realize that people need their vehicles and depend upon them for their livelihood? Do you even care? How can you book someone an appointment and then tell them their truck will not be in for service on the day at 2:30 in the afternoon? My truck was in for a repair that would have taken an hour- how can I be told that it won?t get in today? This is unacceptable. In this instance you do what you have to do to get the job done. Have your staff work OT, pay overtime, whatever- get it done and back to the customer!!! As I recall, I called Bob back 15 minutes later after feverishly looking to book an appointment elsewhere and told him that I would be in shortly after 4:00 to speak with the service manager about this. He told me that ?they were going to see what they could do?. Did you feel that you were going to have a complaint and an angry customer and backpedal to get the job done?

So, I arrived at approximately 4:15 to pick my truck up. When I arrived, it was still being worked on. About 10 minutes later I looked to the rear of the service area (where people go to smoke) and saw my truck with the hood up. I went over to investigate and was not happy with what I saw. I saw one of your mechanics looking under the hood so I asked him what was going on. He said there was "some sweating on the engine". He went back to get some brake clean and never returned. Excuse me? I had the hood up on my truck the night before and it WAS DRY. I was also under the truck at the same time.
It was also dry. Bob came back with some brake clean himself but I told him to wait a moment. I was appalled at the amount of oil all down the passenger side of my engine right to the pan. Oil was everywhere. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!! I bring my truck in for a rear pinion seal and I find oil all over the engine. I asked Bob to find out what was going on. As he left I also noticed that my windshield washer fluid had been changed. WHY?! I was using a summer wash with an additive that prevents freezing to -30. I drive on the weekends on the highway and the bugs are still out. Why was this changed?

Bob came back and told me there had been a mistake with my truck- someone had brought it in for an oil change and taken the wrong truck. How can someone take the wrong truck? Did they not check the info in a detailed manner? Bob told me that the person had thought my truck was in for an oil change and accidentally spilled oil on the engine. I asked him if the oil had been changed. He went back again and asked and was told "NO" (keep this in mind for the next couple of paragraphs...) Bob had my truck taken to the back to have the oil cleaned off. While I was waiting he asked me if my truck was chipped. I asked him why he was asking. He said that your diesel guy was looking at my truck to see if it was chipped. Am I under suspicion for something? Your "diesel guy" should not be investigating my truck for an unrelated issue. Chipped or not. Is this common practice at your dealership, Rick?
NO, MY TRUCK IS NOT CHIPPED.

Here is where the plot thickens...

I signed my papers and left in an awful hurry. I had an appointment at the bank at 5:00, and this setback made me late for it. When I arrived home I checked the oil in my truck. I was extremely appalled to find that it was overfilled. Rick do you know what happens when an engine is overfilled with oil? Do you know how much my engine costs? When I got underneath the truck I immediately noticed on my oil sampling plug that it had been removed. This is not to be removed!!! There was oil around the washer and it was torqued tighter than it should be! This is a brass fitting. Care is to be taken!!! The oil was an inch and a half past the full line!!!! BRUTAL!! I drained out at least two liters of oil to bring it down to where it should be. I also noted that the oil had definitely been changed. I recently changed my oil a month ago and constantly monitor it. So it was very evident to me. How do you explain this? What was shocking to me was that my oil analysis results on this change had been compromised. I run an oil bypass system and send in used oil samples to monitor my engine's wear and performance. I run specific oil brands to monitor wear trends. Your service department compromised this. What was also shocking is that your oil change employee BLATANTLY LIED to Bob when he asked what happed with my engine in regards to the oil. What else do they lie about? How do I know that DIESEL OIL WAS USED??!! I don?t. If your employee lied about touching/changing my oil could you actually get a straight answer about what oil is used? This is an expensive engine- THERE IS NO ROOM FOR ERROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So after changing my oil I decided to check my rear diff. I have installed aftermarket diff covers to keep my oil cool when working the truck hauling or towing.
These are a great tool to have as they allow the operator to change the gear oil without taking the cover off. They are also very expensive and great care needs to be taken when performing maintenance on them. Your "diesel guy" or whoever worked on my truck torqued the dipstick on the cover so tight I had to pull with all my might to get it off. They DO NOT NEED TO BE TORQUED THIS MUCH!!!!! He also damaged the o-ring, it is now marred from being overtorqued. The dipstick is usually installed and tightened by hand as there is an o-ring that seals the diff. On the dipstick it is CLEARLY marked where to fill- there are low and full lines for the operator to distinguish oil levels. When I checked the level, I found it was low- seriously low. It took 3 QUARTS to bring it back to the operating range. How do you think your technician can explain this? My concern with the repair is that it was a rushed job. How long am I going to go before my pinion seal blows again? Did it need to be sleeved? Was this taken into account when the job was being performed? How long could I have gone on being underfilled 3 quarts before something happened? Excess wear doesn't take long when oil levels are low. How long could I have gone before something happened in my engine before a seal blew or the oil started to foam? How do you explain all of this, Rick?

So, obviously I will NEVER take my vehicle or refer anyone to St. Albert Dodge ever again. I have been dealing with your dealership for three years. I have purchased one vehicle from the dealer and have taken all my vehicles to your service, which is supposed to be five star...  What do I want? Well for starters you owe me a COMPLETE oil change. My oil analysis results have been compromised and I expect to be compensated for it. I also wish to have MY windshield washer solution compensated. My costs are as follows: Receipts can be provided for everything except the windshield washer. 1. Fleetguard filter LF16035 ($17.50 +tax) 2. Amsoil bypass Filter EaBP (38.43 tax included) 3. 14 Quarts of 15W40 Royal Triton QLT (6 gallons cost $85.74+ tax, I used 3 full gallons and 2 quarts from another gallon. $55.00 is approximately what I used) 4. 1 jug summer bug wash + additive. (Approx $4.00 dollars purchased at Superstore)

I wish to speak directly to your boss or whoever you report to, I will also forward this letter to them directly. I expect to also be given full contact information for the Daimler Chrysler survey personnel. I have not ruled out filing a small claims lawsuit, as well as, contacting the Better Business Bureau to report this example of gross negligence.

Every time St. Albert Dodge services my vehicle they seem to do something to get my blood pressure up. From Scratching my rear bumper to leaking oil on my front bumper.
When I purchased my vehicle one of my concerns was getting it serviced on Saturdays and getting a ride home and back on saturdays. I was assured that it would not be a problem. I booked today (Saturday) off of work after making my appointment on Monday to get an oil change and have the front end checked as it has been making noise. Upon my arrival at the dealership I am told there is no mechanics working and all I can get is an oil change, had I been told that when I made the appointment I would have made other arrangements. St. Albert Dodge doesn't do any big screw ups, it is just a bunch of little ones that accumulate.

My first experience was when I was a young fellow in my late teens with a wad of $ to spend on a hot little vehicle. Went into the dealership to price out a car. Salesmen argued as to who was going to serve me - leaving me with the impression that a young fellow my age was probably just kicking tires. Since then I had bought several parts from them due to convenience of location. Last Christmas was the final straw! My wife went into the dealership to inquire as to whether they would make some kind of donation for a kindergarten fundraiser(several community businesses eagerly gave something small). Owner/GM/Whatever/ came down and rudely advised that he does not support community fund raisers and walked away. I guess they have no interest in giving back to their community! Not very smart!

This is the worst dealership on the planet. They make huge mistakes and accuse their customers of lying. I took my car in for service it's still under warranty and the engine light was on, the service guy was nice but we ran into a problem because I don't have the key to unlock the the locking bolt, their ridiculous fleet manager, Tony (whom I had already watched pound on a customers vehicle because the keys were locked inside) got involved and treated me like I was a stupid girl who didn't know what a bolt key looked like, & accused me of throwing it away. Then when he went to retrieve the file for my purchase he pulled out the file for another vehicle we had purchased there and accused my husband of lying!! At loud volume in their show room!!! Then this idiot stick talked to the owner Phil Belland and we went into speak to Phil and he was and even worse. He was proud of his horrible service, didn't focus on the matter at hand and was the rudest %&#*! I had ever met. This was a simple problem that could have been fixed in a moment and instead they behave like Little boys on a playground. If you appreciate being put down, accused of lying, treated like crap on the bottom of your shoe by all means go to this dealership. This idiot Phil told me I should have taken my car elsewhere for service, everyone knows when the engine light is on you don't drive for 20km's to go elsewhere but now I will. This place is poison, the management staff is horrible and should be ashamed of themselves. I will also be reporting their behavior to Chrysler Canada and I hope that their 5 star rating reflects their treatment of customers which is 1 star at best.

Bad Experience. Mr Belland's attitude & actions give Dodge a bad name.
We made a deal, went to pick up the car and the Finance person asked us for an additional $630 on instructions from Belland. We walked out and went back to Capital where we had been dealing as well and bought a vehicle at the price they quoted us.

We purchased our vehicle there and left feeling we had a good buying experience. Did not feel pressure with the sales dept. at all, much to our delight. I've had the vehicle in a few times for service and felt the service people were informative, courteous and fair. I would recommend this dealership from my experiences so far.

I have known St. Albert Dodge as a community dealer for the last 25 years. I have only been going there since August 2004, and I am truly impressed with the overall service I receive there. In the last 9 months they have undergone management changes, sales staff changes, and general policy amendments. They have a diverse staff of great people, always willing to do what it takes to satisfy a customer. I recently bought a 5 speed manual car from them and one of the managers actually took an hour and a half to teach me how to drive it! For St. Albert Dodge to have the large competition that it does, and generally being a smaller dealership, they definitely go over and above with their service. Being the family oriented dealership that they are, it is obvious to see how the employees are valued, and how they in turn value their customers. I would recommend St. Albert Dodge to anyone buying a new or used vehicle who would like to have the feeling of peace of mind. Being a 5 star dealer, they have certain expectations of them in terms of service and product. I can see that they are willing to do what it takes to uphold that 5 star status and ultimately become your choice when you decide to make your next vehicle purchase.

I used to go to crosstown but found them not to be to honest trying to sell me things I don't need. Since coming to St. Albert I found that they really do not want to sell me things that I don't need but will discuss my needs with me and also give time frames as when I should do what and when. So I can budget for the future repair on my vehicle thanks for the time you spend with me.

My wife and I went to this dealership in the interest to buy her a Dodge Ram. The sales representative that help us began to chat me up and basically said nothing to my wife. Then he asked if we had any questions, my wife knows a bit about vehicles but basically not a whole lot. He began to list the specs. of the vehicle - he then said it has a Hemi. My wife asked a honest question - what is a hemi. The sales rep. turn to her and laughed and then said it is a half of a hemorrhoid. My wife was totally shocked and embarrassed. She then turned and walked out with the sales person on our heals. The sales person in his ignorant wisdom should realize that not just Men buy vehicles. I now understand what woman have to go through by experiencing it first hand. This dealership lost a sale due to the sales persons neanderthal way of thinking. She is now looking at Fords and GMC's
I would not recommend this dealership at all unless the sales people come out of the dark ages. Maybe they should look at get some female sales people in.

I Read all the stories re this dealership and i don't know what people are talking about! I find all departments to be very helpful. I use to go to another dealership. When I had problems with my vehicle I went to my dealership I got a quote of $1500.00 dollars I asked them to only fix what I brought it in for. I was told by a friend to try St Albert dodge so i did. It turned out that i did not need all that my dealership told me i needed. To top it off I asked them what kind of warranty i had let on my vehicle .Just to find out that there was an extended warranty on my air conditioning which my old dealership charged me$1300.00 dollars for work that should of been on warranty. St Albert dodge is my dealership of choice now. They are very honest and really do care about me as a person and have my best interest in mind when I come in for service. HATS OFF TO ALL THE STALL at St Albert dodge and keep up the good work.

I tried to buy here, even sourced the vehicle I wanted and agreed a price, leaving an imprint of my VISA as good faith. I returned the next day with the St Albert Dodge written deal and a cheque book and they disputed it and tried to use the 4 square negotiation but badly. They got really heavy when I said I would buy the vehicle as per the written offer or leave it, the sales manager actually walked out on me saying that he wasn't going to lose out and knew where he was going to charge his time. I left and called my credit card provider giving them instruction to cancel my card and reissue with the above events. On the up side the sales manager must have calmed down the next day as a sales person called the next day explaining that they were a local dealership and really wanted my business and what could they do.......I'd rather walk

I bought a 99 Dodge Durango, I LOVE THIS TRUCK, but HATE the dealership because of their greed and lack of customer service. I asked for a Manual which was not provided with my vehicle, i had to go buy one myself. Then i bought another keyless entry switch for my keychain, they hosed me $59 for it. that's ok. BUT when i got outside it didn't work, then they told me that they want $40 to activate it. i said i don't think so, took it back, 2 weeks later my manual came in the mail. it explains it there how to program this keychain. took me less than 30 seconds. So rather than explain it to the customer. they were ready and willing to screw me out of $40 for 30 sec worth of work. Pathetic. too bad, cuz i have purchased over $4500 of extras and add-ons for this vehicle.
Yeah the truck rocks, this dealership is a joke.

In my experience in general they are not very honest, as most of the service people will try to get money out of you every chance that they get. They have not once checked to see if something is covered under warranty, I have pretty much had to tell them to check (it gets really old...). I have also been charged for parts and labor that other dealerships would not charge you for. They know (and I think they don't like) that Chrysler pays them less for work done then the customer and as such in my opinion they do not work for the customer. I will no longer be going to this dealership for my service...

Excellent....don't know what the problems before were, but I've been coming here for about three years, and have only had a couple of problems with the service department. They would book me for an oil change and then I would have to wait to get in even though I had an appointment. Lot's of contact from my salesperson, and I tell everyone that I know that they should come see her. She worked really hard to get me the used vehicle that I wanted and helped me fit it into my budget.
