$500 out of my pocket for a window that THEY broke during a $200 detailing job!!! Talk about bait & switch...these people are the scum of the Earth, and if Dodge/Chrysler has any sense they'll withdraw the franchise.

I had a 90 Dakota and I got a recall notice for the steering box. Paper said free parts & labor. NO cost for anything. Took my truck in and when it was done they wanted to charge me a $15.00 service bay charge. I told them to go pound sand basically. Paper said free. They said they charge a fee to bring the vehicle into the bay! What BS. After an argument I left with my truck and they didn't get a dime from me.

Dodge was running a $1000 rebate in addition to their normal rebates. It was a card that you received in the mail from DC and could take into a dealer and use in addition to all the other rebates. I drove 150 miles but forgot to bring the card with me...we made a deal based upon the certificate number that I called and got from my wife. I bought the truck and was told they didn't need the certificate, only the number and everything was great. That we in early July...now in late August they call stating that DC wouldn't honor the rebate without the certificate and that they were going to need another $1000 from me. I told him I had been told by their sales manager, salesman and finance manager they they didn't need the certificate. He said that was fine but that it was a "nothing deal" and could use some help. I told him to forget about it. That was three phone calls ago and it's about to become harassment. Next time they call, it will be to hear my response - the number of my attorney. The gall of some people to try to make a few extra bucks!

Bought a 3500 HO 24V Sport a little over a month ago. Took it in because of loose feeling in the steering wheel, wander, and a memory not returning to center. Even though it took SIX days to do the repair with all parts in stock, they replaced upper & lower ball joints on both sides, track bar, and tie rods. Also, no charge on the Neon rental car for the sixth day even though the warranty only covered five. Not that I would have paid for the pos anyway. All in all I was pleased. The rig drives like new now and they replaced a lot more than what I expected....figured they'd try to do just the track bar.

When I was shopping for a new truck, I narrowed down my selection to either a Ford or Dodge 3/4 ton, V10 or diesel, extended cab/crew cab, short box. I wanted nothing older than a 2000 with no more than 30,000 miles on it and in the $25,000 to $30,000 price range. Lithia Dodge nearly had me sold on a new 2002 Dodge 2500 V10 for $26,700 and Anchorage Chrysler advertises that they will match or beat any price in the state of Alaska on a new vehicle or the will pay you $1000. That is B.S. They in fact, would not even come close to Lithia's price and insisted that I really needed a 2003 HPCR Cummins for $45k (fully loaded, which I clearly stated was not what I wanted). I do not like being told what to buy when I already know exactly what I want. Needless to say, I took my business else where. I ended up buying a 2000 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 (17,000 miles on it) from Alaska Sales & Service for just over $25,000. A few months after I bought my truck (purchased 10/02, problem was 1/03), I blew a tranny cooling line while driving down the highway. Severe fluid loss and no drivability. I had the truck towed to AK Sales & Service and they towed it to Anchorage Chrysler where their service department "diagnosed" the problem under the factory 3/36 warranty. They reattached the line and dumped four quarts of ATF in the transmission and called it good. I complained about odd shifting and such but they insist the transmission is fine. They refused to diagnose any further than topping up fluid. They didn't even clean the under carriage of the truck, which was totally covered in ATF. I have driven approx. 2000 miles since this visit without problems but I have yet to haul a big load. In short, I am unhappy with the service department.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid,
Where to begin with this dealership? Had a 95 Dodge Ram that had a clogged oil pump intake, and when I took it in, they said the engine had to be replaced. Since it was only intermittently clogged, and I drove it in, I suspected that was wrong and took it to a trusted mechanic. He said there were signs of engine wear, but that the engine was fine. Also, in order to move the vehicle from the dealership to the mechanic, I had to have it towed because the dealership left the oil pan off (they put it in the back of the truck). Needless to say, I was enraged.
When I went to buy my new 2002 Ram 2500 I figured I'd give them a chance to redeem themselves. I went to Lithia and got their best offer, then went to Anchorage Chrysler Dodge. Never in my life have I seen a sales manager whine and attempt to confuse the issues in such a ridiculous and insulting manner. I explained to him that I had all the costs and stats off the internet, and he still attempted to lie to my face. Pathetic. Avoid this dealership if at all possible.
These people need to realize that they are no longer the only dealership in town to get a Dodge.

Sales=Fair, Service=Avoid,
I have never been so screwed over as I was by this place. Twice I had to contact DC on my own to get something covered under warranty. They lied to me twice. I had brought my current truck in when nearly new for a occasional stutter. They told me that they could find nothing wrong and charged me for the hour of diagnostics. Now I found out that there was a TSB on this very problem. This was just one of many issues there. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! I will travel to the lower 48 or another Alaska dealership for my next truck. Great Truck... Dealer stinks!

Sales=Fair, Service=Avoid,
I know this is a truck sight but I feel this pertains to vehicle maintenance as a whole and because their actions have made me decide not to buy a new Ram diesel from them. I bought a Neon new in 1995. The initial service was pretty benign and things seemed to go fairly smooth with the the recalls and warranty work. As the warranty was getting close to running out, I noticed that the service was getting a little less than satisfactory and I had to take the car back several times on one thing. When the warranty was within days of running out, I took the vehicle in to get a small thing looked at and next thing I know they call and tell me there is a recall notice on some internal parts of the engine. So the car was in the shop for about a week and I go to finally pick it up. To make a long story short I notice a large, odd shaped dent in the front fender shortly after leaving the lot. The shop was closed so I came back the next day to get restitution and was given the run around and flat out called a liar by the service manager and the quality control guy. After much heated debate we agreed to settle that I would buy the fender and he would paint it and install it. He said it was that or nothing. I told him that it was obvious by the dent shape that the head was dropped on the fender and slid down. He said there was no way I could prove that and I could take the offer or leave it. So I did, but it left a sour taste and I will avoid the dealership at all costs. Anytime I have any of my other vehicles serviced anywhere now I bring the service rep out to look over the rig with me and document the existing damage and give me a copy. This seems petty to some but if you want to keep people honest sometimes you have to be that way. Accidents happen. An honest company corrects its mistakes. I feel they were not honest and will not give them my business.

Sales=Poor, Service=Good,
Sales Dept. is nothing amazing... Bought a '95 Ram 3500 Diesel used from dealership and after 2 yrs. of reliable service, I finally had preventative maintenance done. Then they did most of my performance upgrades for me - torque converter, valve body, injectors, turbo, timing (parts bought elsewhere). I was a regular customer for a month straight. Svc. Mgr. went on a test ride with me, I worked with with diesel tech directly in the shop. Tech. called me personally, service writers worked hard to please, quoted up prices up front. Many thousands of dollars later, I'm happy with the Service Dept.

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Avoid,
I took my 98 dodge diesel for service under warranty. It had 30k on the odometer. It took about 5 weeks to diagnose and repair what turned out to be a bad fuel injection pump. I got the run around and a lot of double talk for the entire time it was in the shop. They ended up scratching my paint up in the process. I definitely got the feeling that incompetence was the rule rather than the exception. They attempted to remove parts I had installed by the local Cummins dealer accusing the parts for the problems. Now my tranny is failing and I'm afraid to take my truck back for warranty.

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Good, No comments offered

Sales=Good, Service=Avoid,
Got coupon in mail for free oil change and filter. They tried to charge me for filter. Interior heater fan stopped working in subzero temps. They wanted $400 for a $60 part. $700 total. Now I'm "leery". I bought my next vehicle 4000 miles away after buying two here.

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Avoid,
I took my Dodge 3500 in for service, and in addition to the standard schedule of service items, asked for the gearboxes to be drained and serviced. When I went to pick up the vehicle, the battery was dead, and after jump starting, within one mile of the dealership, found that my Gear Venders overdrive unit ceased to work. Returned the vehicle to dealer stating problem. Went back 3 times in the next week to pick up vehicle, and all three times the battery was dead as well as the Gear Vendors gearbox was not functioning. Finally asked the mechanic(?) that did the service what type of lubricant he had put in the differentials, transmission and transfer case and Gear Vendors gearbox and he stated that he had put 90 weight gear oil in ALL of them, even though I had insisted that the service rep who wrote up the work order write on the work order to service the Gear Vendors gearbox with Dexron II. They kept the vehicle another day,stating that they would correct the! problem. I went back again to pick up the vehicle, the battery was dead and after jump starting tried to engage the Gear Vendors gearbox which still would not function. Again, they kept the vehicle another day. I Went back to get it the next day and the battery was dead again, and after jump starting, the windshield wipers would not function. I took the vehicle that day because I was fed up with them and started home, about 100 miles from Anchorage. I made about 60 miles when the 5 speed transmission spun a bearing on the lower countershaft and wiped out the gear cluster. The temperature was about -20 degrees F. I had the vehicle towed back to Anchorage Dodge Chrysler, they tore down the transmission and said it would cost me about $4000.00 to replace it. I suspect they had serviced the transmission with 90 weight gear oil, but can't prove it since they would not let me see the transmission after teardown. The owners manual calls for 5 weight engine oil in the transmission. I suspect the lower countershaft bearing spun out in the subzero weather because the viscosity of the 90 weight gear oil is so thick at -20 degrees that the bearing could not get any lubrication. I ended up paying over $5000.00 to them for this comedy of errors. (It really wasn't very funny.) They refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing on their part. In my opinion, they lack integrity, their mechanics are incompetent, and they refuse to stand behind their work. The service I initially requested was for a vehicle that had about 85,000 to 90,000. miles on it.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Poor,
I paid a deposit on a vehicle. The vehicle was sold when I went to pick it up and even after talking to the store owner I got the feeling they could care less about me as a customer. I then put a deposit on a truck that was in transit and after two weeks gave up and bought a Ford. Avoid these people as they do not care if you buy from them or not ... There is always someone else in line who will buy it. The service department has to order even the most common of parts like fuel level sending units and such .

Sales=Avoid, Service=Poor,
Made deal to purchase a new auto and put deposit to hold vehicle. When I went in to sign papers the vehicle had been sold and of course they wanted to sell me a more expensive vehicle. Total indifference toward the customer.

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Avoid,
Long tale of indifference, incompetence, attempted fraud, and theft of items from vehicle.

Dealership Rating:
Good sales department, good service
Fair sales, fair service
Conflicting or not enough information
Poor Service or Poor Sales Department
Avoid like the plague!!
Don't Know or No Experience
