Sales=Good, Service=Poor, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
I dealt with Earl. I give him an A+. He bent over backwards, side-stepped obstacles
and remembered my name and face, LONG after the sale was done. We had existing
issues with the car mechanically, he made sure that we had it ALL in writing
UP FRONT. He spoke with the service department and expedited our appointment,
by introducing me to them. The service department was competent but they didn't
pursue the issues that they needed to. I had to push it ALL THE WAY! That is
why I have not returned after the initial items were fixed.
Conclusion, Earl is a GEM among salesmen if you are buying at Cal see him. Be
sure to get it ALL IN WRITING UP FRONT. Take your time and READ EVERYTHING!

Sales=Excellent, Service=Excellent, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
I guess I got luck here. I bought my wife a used RAV4. They treated us very
well. The car was in excellent shape and we had no problems. The jack was missing
and they sent us a new one in a week. We also had a free oil change and they
did this happily and well.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Don't Know,
I bought a used truck on one of their so called weekly specials. The day I bought
the truck the heater switch broke and ran heat all the time. I called to have
the vehicle fixed but was transferred to three different people only to leave
a message with the service departments manager and never got a response. The
following day I was stopped for only one license plate. When I returned to the
dealership to get plates I had to sit through an argument between the sales
manager and a sales rep as to whether or not they would apply for new plates
for me. I finally did get new plates 2 months after this happened. Within 2
weeks the front U joint went out, the inside door handles will not work and
of course the heater runs at full heat all the time. When I spoke with the sales
people I could very likely have been speaking to a wall. As I left I realized
I had paid my money and that is pretty much all they wanted. Future sales are
obviously not a priority.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Good,
I am a single mom with two young children and was taken advantage of when I
bought an Explorer from Cal Worthington in Anchorage. When I tried discussing
the fact that they sold me a lemon and lied to me about the fact that my "in-house"
financing would show up on my credit report to help me build credit I was ignored.
I even tried to get them to trade off my lemon for something else because I
had a great payment history with them. In fact I even paid additional money
many months towards my principal--they did nothing to help. So after a full
brake job, the vacuum modulator was replaced, the transmission replaced and
the engine blowing all within a year, I let them repo it because I just couldn't
take it anymore! Now of course I am ending up in court soon because I have been
served with papers and I am disgusted about this situation. I had a perfect
payment history with them and now this is coming back to haunt me! Whatever
you do, THINK TWICE BEFORE ALLOWING Cal Worthington sell you a vehicle.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid,
Sold a previously damaged vehicle, refused to negotiate, help, or take any
responsibility. Management and sales people refused to mediate/negotiate fixing
problems. They were rude, lied, and sold us a lemon. No remorse, no help. Unethical
business practices and fine print contracts. Ultimately dissatisfying. Worthington
Ford of Alaska, new or used, is one BIG rip-off
