DO NOT BUY FROM HERE, OR EVEN SHOP HERE. I had done my research. Months and
months, and I was ready to buy a truck. So I went in one day to get my truck,
Stating first that I have awesome credit and not much money but enough to get
me my truck. I went to Little Rock Dodge to get my truck. First I was greeted
by an eager salesperson, and telling him what I wanted he quickly went to find
it. I had that days paper with the truck of my dreams and the price to which
I wanted. Also calling earlier that day to ask if they had it. The manager on
the phone stated they had ten to twenty, plenty and i need to come get me one.
So Back to the dealership, my eager salesperson, looked all over even crossing
University to go to the dealership across the street to find my truck, "oh
I believe we sold the last one of those yesterday, yes sir we did." This
Frustrated me to no end, being lied to, but I still wanted my dodge. So talking
to the sales rep, he said he could get me one close to the price the paper said.
So we went picked out one and starting working the paper work. Using all the
options they didn't get the price any way near the quoted price (unless you
call 6,000 dollars close) and that is not including anything else warrant etc.
etc. But this wasn't the insult of the day, they kept rearranging numbers, thinking
we were idiots and would not noticed that they were charging the same thing.
Well Deciding that this was not going to happen today, I asked for my Driver
license and keys to my car. (they were determining trade in value) They LOST
MY DRIVER'S LICENSE, and could not find it, then on top of that would not give
me my car keys back. They kept pulling more and more people out to try and get
me to buy. So Finally I was given my DL and Keys, SO we left. Later on I decided
maybe they were having a bad day, So I went back a couple of days later, and
that was another adventure. I will buy a dodge, in the next couple of weeks,
just not from Little Rock Dodge.

The "hold
the customer's driver's license and keys" pressure tactic is totally unacceptable
and absolutely despicable! Customers - do not tolerate this kind of sales tactic
and do not do business with people who operate this way. Dealers - if you can't
reach an agreement, let the customer go elsewhere without resorting to extortion.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Don't Know,
We contacted this dealer via internet, and we were assured that they had exactly
the car we had specified, and that it was available for only "$200 over
invoice". We had done thorough research and had information from other
dealers, so we already knew the invoice for the car we specified. We made an
appointment, and upon arrival we found out that the car wasn't equipped as we
had specified. Although we were disappointed at having been deceived about this,
we had driven a considerable distance, and we were ready to buy, so we decided
to continue trying to do business. Next we were told that the "invoice"
amount was about $200 more than our research showed (and which other dealers
had already confirmed). By now we were a bit uneasy with the truthfulness of
the representations being made, but we found manufacturer incentives that persuaded
us to buy that day. The dealer didn't point out the incentives, we found them
ourselves and the salesman acknowledged them. I asked about sales tax on the
manufacturer's rebate and the "educational incentive", and I was told
that the rebate amount ($2,500) was taxable, but the "education incentive"
was exempt from sales tax. We concluded the deal, but days later I got a bill
for sales tax that included tax on the $500 "education incentive".
Because the salesman had specifically told me that was not taxable, I called
the dealership to see why I was being taxed on it. I assumed it was a clerical
error that could easily be corrected. I spent all afternoon on the telephone
being passed around from one clerk to another. Then they gave me the name of
a clerk whom they said was the only one who could help me. For hours I called
her, only to get her voicemail. Finally I called the original clerk back, and
she told me that the one they had referred me to was there, she just wasn't
answering her telephone! She put me through, and I was referred to the salesman,
who didn't answer his telephone either. Later they gave me a cell number for
him, and he quickly brushed me off by saying just call the "girl"
in the office, she would straighten it out! The salesman admitted that he told
me that the $500 wasn't taxable, he said the "girl" must have made
a mistake. OK, now four hours into this ordeal, I get the clerk again. She starts
the "I-don't-know-anything-about-this-I-will-give-you-the-other-clerk"
runaround again, and I asked her to give me someone in authority instead. After
a very long wait, and individual identifying himself only as "Fred"
got on the line. Fred was very aggressive and he informed me that I had been
"given" a very good deal and that I should be satisfied. Fred didn't
know anything about the purchase I negotiated, nor about my inquiry, he simply
thought he could bully me into going away. After I explained the basis for my
telephone call, "Fred" who by this time identified himself as an assistant
manager, said "Why are you calling about this anyway, It is only $10. I
asked him what the sales tax rate was, and he said "5.125%". Then
I asked him if he thought 5.125% of $500 was $10. Now he was really furious.
He said he couldn't believe I was going to make an issue out of this for only
$12. I told him that I couldn't believe he was going to bargain for all the
"Badwill" this would generate for the dealership - and reminded him
that we already established that it was $25.63, not $10 or $12. He asked if
he sent me a check for $25, would I be satisfied. He repeated his question multiple
times, in a berating fashion. I had only called to see if there had been a mistake,
as there appeared to be. I would have been satisfied with a simple explanation
that the salesman (Mr. Shawn Newsom) had made a mistake. An apology would have
been nice, since the dealer's mistake had cost me money. Now the dealer's personnel
had cost me a whole afternoon of aggravation as well. None of this was necessary.
I maintained my demeanor as a Christian and a Gentleman the whole time. There
was absolutely no excuse for this type treatment of a customer. I told "Fred"
with no last name that I would be satisfied with his check for $25, and he went
through his "Will that satisfy you" humiliation routine again. I said
yes, again. Of course I have never received anything from the dealer, I have
never heard from "Fred", I got no explanation, no apology, and I am
certainly ready to tell everyone I see about how poorly I was treated by Little
Rock Dodge.

Wow, I have never had a more unpleasant, unprofessional experience at a car
dealership in my life. After being told by one young salesman how a 3/4 ton,
crewcab, long bed V8 hemi would get 22MPG things really went downhill. This
particular salesman had to leave to make a court appearance and left us with
with a "typical car salesman" who ran the numbers for us. As expected
they lowballed my trade and wouldn't budge off their "black book".
I stood to leave and when asked where i was going I replied "I'm leaving".
At this point the salesman laughed and said "You can't go anywhere without
your keys. So I told him in no uncertain to get my keys. This is where is really
gets bad; he then calls the Sales Manager saying how we're mad and leaving.
I'm not mad yet, but am trying to leave. Well my keys get there before the Sales
Manager and I'm on my way out. SM finally appears and yells for me to stop.
I tell him we aren't even close and don't have anything to discuss. Apparently
this didn't set well with him since he went into a screaming fit as we continued
to ignore him and leave. His fit ended with "Well just get off my f***ing
lot". Now I'm mad. We'll just end the story there. I attempted to contact
the owner of dealership later in the day, but he wouldn't return my call. The
Chrysler rep informed me that it was apparently I who was screaming and cussing.
Apparently you're not allowed to dislike the deal they cut you at Little Rock
Dodge, or at least you can't voice it. Or maybe it's a requirement to waste
another 30 minutes being told by the Sales Manager how good a deal this is,
maybe we can knock another $500 off. Regardless, they don't have to worry about
me being on their "f***ing" lot anymore. Hey, he called it that not
me...

Sales=Excellent, Service=Excellent, By the time I went to the dealer
to buy my truck, I knew more about it than any of the salesmen. LOL! The one
I ended up working with was very professional and made sure to find the answers
to the few questions I did have. The manager went out of his way to ensure I
did indeed get the best deal. With all the research I had done on everything
including pricing I knew I got a great deal. The one time I actually had an
issue with my Ram, I took it to Little Rock Dodge due to previous horrible experiences
with the other dodge dealer, Fletcher Dodge. The service manager went way out
of his way to ensure I didn't miss work. See, I work out of my truck and could
not afford to be without it. While they tracked down the problem I drove a loner
at no cost. Ended up my problem was related to a vindictive ex who put something
in my fuel tank. Regardless, Little Rock Dodge didn't charge anything and I
put over 300 miles on their loaner in two days.!

Sales=Avoid, Service=Don't Know, I went to drive the new dodge 1500.
I wanted to turn in my lease on my 99 1500. I knew more about the trucks than
the sales staff and the manager didn't want to deal with me. In 99 when I leased
my present truck from them I thought they were great I wonder what happened
in 3 years. I wont go back to Little Rock Dodge. 19 Dec 2001

Sales=Avoid, Service=Don't Know, I called from Memphis to find out if
they had a vehicle I wanted with the specifications I had been looking for.
Not only did they "have it" but the had it a good price and the salesman was
going to meet me there on a Sunday to check out the vehicle. The salesman left
me stranded that Sunday in heat and humidity close to 100 degrees! The next
day,my wife called him and he apologized profusely! We forced him to fax us
a copy of the vehicle's sticker. The vehicle had almost nothing that I wanted
on it other than the Stratus nameplate!!!
I won't name the salesman,as I don't want him to take the rap for his manager's
bad business practices. I'll guess that he was taught how to cheat and deceive
the potential customer. I know from INFORMED SOURCES (at a chevy dealer) how
salesmen are taught how to fleece their customers. Little Rock Dodge,I got the
car I wanted...but no thanks to you.
