Sales=Poor, Service=Fair, Parts=Fair, bought there=No, scv_there=Yes, Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=Yes,
I visited Crown Dodge's sales floor in my search for a used 4x4 diesel pickup
truck. I've experienced the 'hard sell' elsewhere, but never inside a beehive
before. The aggressive, swarming nature of the sales staff was almost as aggravating
as their idiotic negotiating tactics. One "Manager" (note: every person
I met in the sales department had 'Manager' in his title) even informed me that
a limited-slip rear differential is just as effective as 4 wheel drive!!
My brother-in-law has had positive dealings with the fleet sales rep at this
dealership, however, so if you MUST make your automobile purchase at Crown Dodge,
by all means deal ONLY with fleet!!
I've made one service appointment at this dealership, to have a keyless entry
device reprogrammed. I sat there for an hour, waiting for them to complete the
5-minute procedure. I was charged for the full hour. They didn't wash the truck,
but I did get a free paper floor mat! On several
occasions, obtaining a telephone estimate has been sufficient to keep me away
from Crown Dodge- $120 to adjust the speedometer (a procedure involving nothing
more than connecting a scan tool and punching in a three-digit number) is price
gouging. Iversen motors in Santa Maria performed that service for $40.
I've had a much more positive experience with the parts department. They have
at least one knowledgeable and personable guy who has actually helped me on
occasion. However, their prices are among the worst I've found.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Don't Know, bought there=No, scv_there=No,
Drove over an hour to check out a diesel truck. Crown Dodge has a ton of trucks
on the lot. Too bad you can't find anybody to talk to when you would like to
purchase one. After walking around for 45 minutes and having the service crew
say "hi" I finally walked off without finding a single sales person
to let me into the truck I came there for.
