They were 1 of 2 dealers who had the exact vehicle I wanted, but the salesman could not meet the price offered by the second dealer. So next day I'm at the bank finishing my loan papers to take to the second dealer, who gave me the better price. Then the General Manager of Eureka Dodge called me at the bank to try a last minute deal, but still all he could do was match the other dealer's price. Politely I told him that had already made up my mind with the other dealer. Seeing that he could not get this sale the GM then insulted my intelligence by saying that I was "obviously too stupid to qualify as one of his customer!" He then hung up on me before I could respond!   To make matter worse, a month after this happened I got a call from him saying that he had gotten in another vehicle just like the one I bought, so did I have any friends that were also looking for a new Dodge. I of course told him politely but firmly that I remembered how he insulted me the previous month and that I have been telling all my friends not to buy anything from his dealership. He first denied the original incident, saying that my memory was flawed and it was some other Dodge dealer that insulted me. When I was able to repeat to him word-for-word his original insult, he then said that not only I was wrong but that I had better never take my Dodge to his dealership for service, that he would make sure his techs cause trouble for me! This time I hung up on him!!! Be very careful in dealing with the General Manager. I wished I knew who the Zone rep from Dodge is for the Eureka, California region, because I sure would like to let Dodge know what the Eureka GM is doing to prospective customers.
