Sales=Fair, Service=Fair, Parts=Fair, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=Maybe,
We purchased a demo Jeep GC from another dealership in Sacramento and now live
in Napa and have taken the Jeep to the Napa dealership for routine service and
warranty issues. The service dep't flat ignored my wife after she had made a
specific app't for oil changes and routine work, this was after making sure
she could drop off the vehicle during her lunch break on several occasions.
The "service writer" would not even make eye contact the 45 minutes
she waited for someone to help her, so she demanded her keys, left the dealer
and got an oil change at Jiffy Lube in 20 minutes!
When we bought the Jeep at Big Valley in Sacto in 2002, the service dep't bent
over backwards to make sure we were completely satisfied with our purchase and
we expected the same treatment from our local dealer, were we ever wrong. We
were in the market for a new 1 ton truck and the sales department at Napa couldn't
seem to come up with a price on paper that was acceptable or competitive enough.
After doing my Edmunds.com homework and contacting several dealers and getting
their best price, I took all of my paperwork to Napa and they gave me the droopy-eyed
defeated look and almost reluctantly wrote up their best price. As I was doing
the paperwork, I saw they slipped in two extra charges the I had not wanted
or requested, totaling nearly $1000 more than the agreed upon price. By this
time, I was dealing with the fourth person at this dealer (saleswoman, ass't
sales mgr, sales mgr, and finally the finance mgr), and we worked out the problem
by getting a whole new contract printed up without the extra charges. Considering
I did my homework, the whole buying process did not take too long because the
whole 2-hour-beat-up-the-customer ordeal did not happen. I've experienced this
at Folsom Lake Dodge and at that time vowed to never buy a DC product again,
but I like the Dodge truck enough to go somewhere else. The Napa dealer needs
to step up to the pl! ate with its Customer Service or lack thereof, train their
service writers to realize that the customer is #1, and make some movement towards
being a 5-Star dealership which they are not. We know many people that have
had dealings with the Napa Dodge dealer and very few of them are happy with
their experiences, but I have seen some improvement over the last 6 months and
I hope they continue this trend.
