I used to work there - it is a big scam. The General Manager is the biggest ripoff I have ever worked for. Management is full of empty promises - they will tell you that you will get paid a certain commission for a certain car, until you sell that car, then they act like they never said it. They also lie to the consumer about the used cars. They buy the used cars, put them in their shop, and charge $72.00 an hour to the car even if nothing is wrong. This falsely inflates the price and puts more profit in their pocket. They also say you get 7 years of oil changes and a full tank of gas, but you really pay for that without even knowing. I have had a few customers with car problems and when they bring in their car the dealership always charges them $72.00 for diagnostics even if they know what the problem is without diagnostics. Even if you buy the extended warranty they try to hide things and say that things are wrong that are not covered by the warranty, then charge you for it all. I saw a lot of bad business there and will never buy a car there or get my car worked on there. I had my car worked on there once - what started out to be a $24.00 oil change ended up costing me $240.00 after they stripped out my oil pan. Go figure. The General Manager, Tim (Butterball Call), makes money on every department, so he shams anyway he can, from taking money out of a salesman's pocket to lying to the consumer. So, if you plan on buying a car or having one worked on, AVOID NORTHCOAST AUTO!! I could go on and on about the shams and scams but there isn't enough time left in the world.
I do have one last thing to add, The personnel at this dealership were very professional and great people, its just the management that sucks.

I took my 91 D-250 up to them to get an estimate on repairing the air conditioning. They told me what parts it needed and how much it would be to fix it. I gave them the go ahead. I live 3 1/2 hours away from this 5 star dealer so I wanted the work done right the first time. They ordered the parts and told us to return on a certain date and time. (Trip 1) The day before my wife called and asked if the parts came in, they said everything was there come on up. After driving the distance we discovered the parts were not there. They re-ordered the "right" parts and gave us a new date and time. (Trip 2)This time my wife called again and yes we are ready. She them drove the distance took the vehicle in and left it for them to work on. About 3 hrs latter she got a call on her cell stating the truck was torn apart and no they didn't have the "right" parts. It would be several days more before the parts would be in. Trip 3 The parts came in and were installed as they said BUT you need to spend more money and come back again because it needs more than we originally thought. We came home never to return to the service/parts dept. again and I never got cold air out of the A/C and hundreds of dollars latter.
My wife purchased a PT Cruiser from these guys and what a mistake that was, but that is another story.

Am I just lucky? The service department at Northcoast Auto in Eureka, CA does a good job whenever I have them do anything. One of them really knows these diesel beasts.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid,
I tried to buy a car here. ya know, keep the money local. Well the service was so bad , they let me walk off the lot with cash in hand even though I came to purchase! aside from that now that I have gotten my truck elsewhere they show favoritism to customers who have bought their car there. THIS IS NOT A FIVE STAR DEALERSHIP !!!! NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED.

Dealership Rating:
Good sales department, good service
Fair sales, fair service
Conflicting or not enough information
Poor Service or Poor Sales Department
Avoid like the plague!!
Don't Know or No Experience
