Visited the dealership to test drive a new neon. The salesman asked me if I
was buying today--I told him no but am looking. He would not let me test the
car because "it was a Saturday" and if I wasn't buying today he didn't
have time for me! Needless to say, I will not buy from this dealership when
I do purchase a Dodge product. Poor customer service.

My experience goes back before I had a dodge. I bought a 98 chevy one ton here
with the extended warranty. The front end began having trouble so I took it
to them. The first time they gave it back and said nothing was wrong. I took
it back on the same day and told them to fox it. the second time they kept it
for almost 6 weeks. when I finally got it back it was worse then before. finally
Christopher Dodge sent it to stevenson chevy who told me that they really messed
up the front end to the point of needing a new one. Chrispopher dodge since
it was their warranty would not replace the front end and charged me to get
out of the deal. As part of getting out of the deal I traded into a 2000 Dodge
(brand new) I got 30 thousand miles on it and push rods stated bending. After
the second time they replaced them I asked what was causing the problem? they
did not know. I told them they needed to find the problem so I didn't have to
get push rods every couple thousand miles. their answer was "the truck
is under warranty if the push rods keep bending we will keep replacing them.
Any way they never could find the cause and traded me into an 02 at again my
cost. I refused to go back but in 04 my paint started chipping so I went in
and got the royal blow off. they walked out looked at the chipping and said
"normal" despite my requests they wouldn't test it. I ended up at
another dealer that tested it and said it was faulty. however the warrant comp.
would not cover but that is another story.

My first visit to Christopher Dodge was Sep 1992; I was referred by a friend
who was sales manager at another company's dealership. I was a 50-year old woman
and my husband did not car-shop with me. I had been treated with disdain and/or
condescension by other dealers in the past.
This was NEVER the case at Christopher's. I had an '84 Chrysler Laser with 110,000
miles and now wanted a new vehicle; I bought a brand new '93 Daytona. In Feb
1996, I traded it for '96 Stratus (dealer demo 5500 Miles); helped daughter
buy new '96 Neon in Mar 1996. Traded Stratus for used 2000 Intrepid in Oct 2000.
During years working with Christopher Dodge, I had no negative experiences with
Sales staff, and many times they went out of their way to make things easier
or more convenient for me. About the Service Dept: one recall on Daytona, made
appointment and had repair done with no problems; four recalls on Stratus--three
of those problems I had already identified and had repaired (at no charge),
the fourth was done quickly. The service dept also was very honest in determining
what really needed to be done and what was a "suggestion" in a brochure.
I took a number of 2,000+ mile road trips by myself, and always had them check
over the vehicle before I left town. They never tried to sell me anything that
wasn't needed. For reasons beyond my control, I also had dealings with the body
shop--and that too was a positive encounter. In my many contacts with Christopher
Dodge, I was always treated with friendly courtesy and respect. The only reason
I no longer visit Christopher Dodge is because I now live an another part of
the country.

purchased used 03 ram, way overcharged needed ASAP, dealer couldn't fix in reasonable
time frame. when i asked to trade in towards a brand new one that was ready
for delivery they tacked on $2500 to the price of the new one and said that
the used one had depreciated even though i had not
taken delivery and they could not deliver. i threatened to call a lawyer or
tom martino and they said "go ahead, we get calls from him all the time!"

Went to look at a used 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 ETH/DEE. Salesman was not very knowledgeable
but stated he was new to the dealership. The Dodge had a creased rear bumper,
tires worn to wear bars, no spare, severe front end alignment problem. I mentioned
these to salesman. He made no acknowledgement. The price? $33988 (very high
retail). My trade was 92 Chevy Z71 worth $4300 trade value by Kelley Blue Book.
In showroom, salesman took all my paperwork and keys. A paper with a lot of
writing in green marker was presented to me. Indecipherable, I asked salesman
how much I was paying for Dodge and what my trade was worth. $33988 for Dodge
with $4000 down and $1000 for my truck. I said this was unacceptable, they were
trying to embarrass me, I was leaving and wanted my keys. A 'sales manager'
asked what my problem was. I responded. Still no keys. Another 'sales manager'
asked my problem. I responded and was told my truck had no Blue Book value because
it was too old and I was 'lucky' to be offered $1000. I had to ask 4 more times
for my keys. Finally got them after 8 requests and left while in a screaming
match with the 'sales manager'. I have never been so embarrassed and upset at
a dealership before. Phone call from salesman the minute I stepped in the door
at home. Didn't bother to return call. E-mailed complaint to dealership about
unprofessional treatment by 'sales manager' staff but received no reply. Will
not go there again.

Surprised to read these other postings! I was wowed with the treatment. I was
there for most of the day, with the salesman knocking himself out for me. I
walked in convinced that I was going to buy a GMC Duramax. I just towed 2 racecars
this last weekend, using my new 600 Quadcab for the first time, and I firmly
believe it is the finest purchase I have ever made in my 60 years. Have not
needed to return yet, so can't report on service.

Sales=Fair, Service=Avoid, bought there=Yes, scv_there=No,
I purchased a new 2002 Dodge Ram 1500, 4x4. The salesman was good, but the financial
officer only served to confuse me, and cause me hardship several months after
the purchase. But the worst thing about Christopher Dodge is the service center.
I've been attempting to schedule an appointment to have several federal recall
services, and my initial warranty service, but I can't get a response. I initially
did an on-line request, was given a prompt reply and a service number, and a
promise to get back to me the next day. That was five weeks ago, and five email
requests later. When I call via phone, the lines are busy, and I'm asked to
leave a message. Like the online request, the phone message is never returned.
Something is very fishy in the land of Christopher's Dodge World. I'm now forced
to take consumer action just to have my vehicle serviced. What is going on with
this company. If you are going to buy a Dodge (by the way, I love my Ram pickup),
do yourself a big favor and do not do business with the boys at Christopher
Dodge. Go to another dealership. You'll be much happier in the long run.
Like I said, the truck is great, but the service is subpar. Christopher Dodge
does a strong promotional campaign, and a fair to midland job of selling the
vehicle, but they do not back what they sell. Buyer beware...you will be left
to your own devices...think about it, if they won't even honor a federal recall
notice, they're not good for much.

I was looking to trade in a 2001 Ram 2500 CTD with 8k miles on it on a 2001
or 2002 Ram 2500 or 3500 ETH/DEE (High output with the 6 speed transmission).
Current market value on my truck (at the time) was $28k to $32K, both dealer
and private party. They had a used 3500 on their lot with 30K miles, and the
items that I wanted. The list on the truck was $32K which was on the high side
for book value. After 5 trips over the course of 3 weeks, they finally decided
to deal a little on the truck. They refused to come down on the price, and I
refused to take $22K for my trade in (I still owed $27K), and the sales manager
REFUSED to even talk to me in person. We had to play the "I'll go check
with the manager" game between the sales person and I. Every trip to the
manager took about 20 minutes. We finally agreed on a price that delivered the
3500 with a spray in bed liner, extended warranty (bumper to bumper for 5 years
after the original 3/36) and removing the aftermarket accessories on my old
truck, was $31K (this included trade balance). I told them that I would be in
to close the deal when all the paperwork was in order, so all I had to do was
sign my soul back to the bank. When I came in for the appointment, their finance
department screwed up on the paperwork, and what should have taken 1 hour, took
over 4.
When I brought it back for the spray in bed liner, I was told that it was all
arranged and just needed to drop it off, yet the service department and detail
shop knew nothing about it, and would not touch my truck until I brought the
paperwork from the finance department to show that it was paid for. I can understand
the reasoning for this, but they treated me like I was a con artist, and would
not even bother to call up to the finance to verify that I had bought the truck
and this was part of the deal. After I got that straightened out, and picked
up my truck 3 hours after they said it would be done, I still had to wait for
another two. A week later upon inspecting my truck, I noticed that my tailgate
lights were no longer working. Upon closer examination, I found that rather
than unplugging the wire harness for the tailgate to remove it, they just cut
the wires, and shoved the wires back through the hole in the tailgate. They
cut the wires two inches from the plug. Lazy, pushy, and they still made $6
grand on the deal (I caught a glimpse of the official commission paperwork)
when they said that I was killing their profit. And we are forced to deal with
them when we want to buy new.

The sales manager took over all negotiations for a new vehicle. The manager
was rude. He spoke to me as if I was stupid, despite the fact that I knew more
about his product than he did. He would give no straight answers as far as trade
value, interest rate, and most importantly vehicle price. Most insulting however,
was when he flat out lied about the prices, options, etc. On the used vehicles
on his lot, when comparing them with my trade. The guy was a jerk! And I will
never go to that dealership again, ever!
For the record, my trade was a '99 Dodge Ram Club Cab; 4X4; SLT Laramie; 5.2L
V-8; 77,000 Mi. I wanted at least $13,000 for it. His "comparison" truck, on
the lot was a '99 Dodge Ram Quad Cab; 4X4 SLT Sport; 5.9L V-8; 39,000MI. He
said it was $12,900. Sounds good until I look at the truck and it's pretty basic
inside, it has nearly 50,000MI, a 5.2L V-8, and no Quad doors... and the sticker
price was somewhere around $18,000.00!!! I knew the $13K I wanted wasn't unreasonable,
for a better truck. They also had a '00 Ram SLT Quad Cab; 4X4; with 67,000 MI
for $19,000. Jerks only offered me $9,500 for my truck that blue books at $16K.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Don't Know,
The two salesmen my dad and I dealt with was nice. Everything was good until
it was time to go deal on the vehicle in the store. The "lower class" salesman
filled out the paper work, all but the year of vehicle. He showed it to the
older guy and the older guy pretty much yelled at him and said that he wasn't
going to even look at it until it was filled out completely. That wasted our
time, his time, and made me feel bad because this guy was fairly new and was
trying. Finally we got to talk with the upper class sales guy. He had an attitude
from heck and just didn't even want to deal with us. Dad told him where we were
at after looking at the pickup (leaks and body damage) and the salesmen proceed
to shoot us a deal which was about 5k more than retail. We both said NOPE and
walked out! The "upper class" or "advanced" salesmen only care about making
money NOT THE CUSTOMER especially if you are buying used.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid,
I purchased my Dakota from them because nobody could beat their price. Everything
was great till just before I signed the paperwork. They didn't have two sets
of keys, only one and never did get me a second set of keys. Tried to tack on
hidden charges which I caught and refused to pay. Didn't put an emission exempt
sticker on, had to call and have them mail it to me. Truck's heater core started
leaking two days after I bought it, took them 1.5 weeks to fix. Two years later,
I'm shopping for a new Ram, I consider working with them again (I'm a glutton
for punishment). Salesman quotes me a price in email and confirms it with a
phone call. I drive 70 miles the next day to sign the paper work to order the
new Ram. Now they refuse to sell it for that price, saying that there was a
misunderstanding... excuse me... here's the email with price and configuration!!
Tell me they can't sell it for that price. I walked out. AVOID CHRISTOPHER's
DODGE WORLD like the plague, that place is a rip off! I should report them to
Fox31 News so the Troubleshooter can expose their scams.

This dealership is the course of many, many complaints which are usually not
addressed when we call. The complaints are typically about lousy service, broken
promises and sour car deals. Based on the information I have gotten about this
dealer, I would never buy a vehicle from them nor would I take a car there for
service. 4 tranny rebuilds before 30K miles, not a good start!

Used the bait and switch on me. They told me that my Credit Union would finance
my truck for the amount because that is what blue book value was. Blue book
was lower by $600, and my Credit Union would not finance that extra money. The
dealership just ran me around and would NOT do ANYTHING to help me out. I would
have been happy if they would have even offered to lower it $100, and acknowledged
their mistake. TERRIBLE SALES GROUP! Service department is OK.

sales manager very shifty and was hard to get answers from when comparing truck
for truck. Very incompetent in returning phone calls re: paperwork for licensing/moving
out of state. Had to persistently push just to talk to someone. They also "pushed"
this 5 star rating thing that they had to keep and would fill out the CUSTOMER
form in front of you (with excellent ratings of course!) and have you initial
it.
