I have had decent experiences in past years, but last week I had a terrible
experience while trying to buy a used truck. They offered me $9000.00 less in
trade for my Dodge truck than NADA says the trade in allowance is. Then they
tried to tell me that it was ok and were reluctant to give me my keys back when
I said they were crooks. I will not ever go there again. I will return to Johnson
auto plaza next time.
So far it has been a great truck, lots of power and has been very reliable.

Elway had exactly the used Dak I wanted - V8, power, auto, tow. Test drove it,
vehicle pulled hard to the right. I said, "I like it, but fix this."
They said they would, just an alignment. Got a lousy deal on financing (my credit,
not their fault), got a lousy deal on my trade (their fault), drove the vehicle
home on a Friday night. Still pulled. Took it in Tuesday to an alignment shop
- ball joints shot, out of spec. $600. Took it to my usual mechanic. Ball joints,
out of spec. Dealer (35 miles away) said, bring it in. Gave me a loaner - next
day: vehicle in spec, sue us. Ended up replacing most of the front end, 9 alignments,
2 sets of shocks, 4 sets of tires - Pittman arms, idler arms, stabilizer bar.
I peeled off the dealer sticker and tell everyone who'll listen or who cares
NOT to buy from Elway (which is AutoNation). "No haggle price" - my
a** !!! Engine and tranny still strong at 140K, but I'd buy a Chevy before shopping
at that dealer again, and that's saying something. I'll buy Dodge again. Experience
mostly good.

Sales=Fair, Service=Avoid,
The service department operates like a machine, a money grabbing machine. They
offer little help, are very pushy and are unwilling to soak up the cost on anything
they caused. I had them diagnose a heated seat on my 2001, they told me the
repairs would cost $700.00 and would not be covered under warranty, “come on”
this truck is a little over a year old, the mileage is 60,000. I purchased the
extended warranty for an extra 3,000 the called it the full wrap plan, bumper
to bumper warranty for diesel trucks. Well I should have read the fine print,
when the shocks gave out after 30,000 miles I took it to the dealer to find
out the warranty covers struts not shocks, this is ironic since they don't even
sell a diesel truck with struts. Back to the seat they've now added $100.00
dollars to my bill just to look at the seat, the service department told me
that this repair is common and that they knew where the problem existed, and
then after they determined that it wasn't warrantable they stuck me with the
$100.00 to check out the seat. They give me the felling of not caring about
the service after the sale, just a quick buck from whoever is too tired to deal
with their crap. Don't give them your buck, or spend the extra $ on a extended
warranty

Sales=Good, Service=Avoid,
I waited a long time to buy my Ram, I was very disappointed with the reliability
of the unit, 13 trips to the dealer in 16 months, way too much!

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Avoid,
My oil pressure would drop to zero when idling. I called and the manager
did not know the warranty procedures. They checked the first item, and
deduced that it wasn't their responsibility. The End... I went to Castle
Rock, they told me it was the oil pressure sensor. $25 later, my pickup
was like new. DON'T TAKE IT TO JOHN ELWAY, their service stinks.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid,
This dealership was previously named Emich Dodge. In 1995, when I bought my
Ram 2500 4X4 I went through the fleet manager. I was treated extremely well
and paid a very fair price at the time. The service department was extremely
good. I negotiated the repainting of my truck for cost after 4 years of ownership
and extensive pealing of the paint. Last year the dealership was purchased by
John Elway Autonation. I have had nothing but trouble with the service department
(missed deadlines, overpriced service, and poorly trained/informed service managers)
since the new ownership. The "new" dealership is very impersonal, mechanized,
and not worth the building they rent. The salesmen are pushy and there is no
negotiation on their "one price" policy. They do not go the extra mile to win
your business or retain you as a loyal service customer. Avoid like the plague.
