I purchased my 1995 Cadillac Sedan DeVille from Carmax in Ft. Lauderdale in
1/02. The vehicle was seven years old but only had 11,000 miles, which I still
believe to be true. The Sales transaction was well handled and went smoothly.
About a month later, I noticed rust on the rear passenger side seat belt. I
pulled the rear seat out, and found a puddle of water in the well under the
seat, and the sound insulation was soaked as well. As this was a pre-existing
condition, I took it to the Carmax dealership here in Orlando where I live.
The Service Department people were pleasant, and said that they would look after
it. I called them five days later after not hearing anything. At first they
couldn't find the car, then they said they found it and that it was ready. Long
story made short, they had not fixed the problem but said they did. I honestly
believe that the car sat untouched for the 5 days. The customer always wins
though. I am now looking for a 2005!
Chrysler T&C Limited for my wife, top of the line for about $33,000, and
guess who's not going to get the chance to sell it to me?
My complaint was against the Service Department, not the Sales Department.
