Own a 4x4 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab and the upper ball joint recall notice
received but told by dealer would have to wait 30 days before repairs can be
affected, not very good for a safety related item after waiting one week for
a possible earlier appointment I contacted Gwinnett Place Dodge who performed
the action the next day within two hours of appointment My highest regard to
this dealer who showed an interest in the consumer, I would buy a car from them
just on this and as for Hayes Family owned Yeah right!!!
I love the Dakota and especially the 4.7 liter Jeep motor. Fantastic

Why avoid Hayes? The definitions for 'avoid' on this site are accurate in describing
my feelings about my Hayes experience. The following is an email that I sent
Hayes and Dodge Corporate. Hayes contacted me the same day, but we have yet
to come to a resolution. When all is settled, I will update my rating accordingly.

I have a bad inner left tie rod. I know this because a Dodge mechanic examined
my car on his own time. He referred me to Hayes to get it fixed. Hayes agreed
to do so and told me the time that it would be finished (3pm). I arrive an hour
later (4pm) from across town to pick up my car. It was not finished. The service
person (Miguel Capparros) told me that not only was the left inner tie rod bad
but so was the right one along with the four steering bushings. He then told
me that would be $900 more to complete. Extremely irritated I left. I immediately
called around and found a garage that would look at my car for no cost and diagnose
the problem. I didn't even mention that I had taken it elsewhere. After about
half an hour of examination they told me that my left inner tie rod end was
bad and needed to be replaced. I asked if they were sure that was the only problem.
They then stated that yes that was the only problem and it was a common problem
in cars like mine. I then told them what happened at Hayes, and they chuckled
and made the comment that was typical. So here are the issues in a nutshell:
1. Dodge has abused my trust.
2. Dodge made no attempt whatsoever to satisfy or even offer an apology to me,
the customer, though the signs in the lobby state that the number one goal is
Customer Satisfaction.
3. Though I was planning on purchasing another Intrepid when the new body style
comes out, I will not, nor will I buy another Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep or Plymouth.
For the record, my family is a Dodge family.
4. I will report this to the Better Business Bureau.
5. I expect a quick and thorough response if Dodge intends on regaining not
only my business but most importantly, my trust.

Parts Dept: Purchased Brake shoes for my 2000 dodge pickup truck. Sold
me the wrong shoes. Tried to return them to Hayes in Gainesville, was told that
I couldn't do that. I'm 1.5 hrs away they could of cared less about their mistake.
Buying OEM parts from a Dodge dealer should be hassle free when you have a computer
at your disposal with part numbers. There is only one brake pad for this truck.

Sales=Excellent, Service=Excellent,
Over the past five years I have leased or purchased the following from this
dealer: 1998 Ram CC, 2001 Durango, 2002 Ram QC, 2002 T & C minivan. I have been
extremely pleased with the experience every time. There is no baloney. Just
straight forward, honest customer service. Every time I bought there it was
in response to prices in their ads. The advertised vehicles were always available.
No bait and switch.
The Service Dept. is just as awesome. I have always had very quick turnaround
there. The tension cable broke on my passenger side outside mirror. At 4pm on
a Friday I walk in with no appointment and I was out in a repaired truck in
20 minutes! The department that adds accessories also does excellent work. They
added fog lamps when I bought the truck and the installation looks just like
those done at the factory. I recently added a set of running lights to the cab.
They look like they've always been there.
