I took my Dodge Ram in for warranty work on several issues. I provided detailed
info about the problems and the codes being sent from the truck. After inspection
they ordered a number of parts and said they would call when they came in. I
received the call and asked them to verify that ALL the parts were in (since
I was driving an hour to their shop). Went through the list and was ensured
that all parts were in for all problems listed. Scheduled appt and took to shop
on 8/8 and left it with them at 8:30 am. Service said they would call when the
truck was finished. I returned to the shop about 1:30 and was waiting in the
waiting area while the work was being completed. At 2:00 the truck was brought
out of the shop and parked out front. At 2:45 I asked the lady at the desk if
she knew how much longer they would be, since the truck appeared to be finished.
While she went out to ask I was wandering around inside. Service tech came inside,
approached me and stated "Mr. Welland, has anyone called you to tell you
your truck is ready?" I said no. He responded in a very rude tone, "we
told you we would call you and since we haven't called your truck is not ready."
When I told him I was just asking how much longer it would be he again responded
rudely that they said they would call me when it was ready. Alright enough of
this, I said I had had enough of his rude attitude and asked to see his manager.
He responded "You are not going to speak to anyone until you step outside."
I said NO, I will not step outside, I want to speak to a manager.
The tech the stated "You WILL step outside NOW!" Again I refused to
leave the building and he stated "You are going to step outside whether
you like it or not." Obviously I refused and he eventually went and got
the service manager. Service manager approaches me, no introductions, no what
can we do, he simply states "Mr. Welland, you pay the $100 deductible you
owe us and you can take your truck and leave and we will mail you your paperwork."
First, I have a zero deductible warranty that I purchased and second I am not
leaving until I have the paperwork for the work you did. How long to complete
the paperwork, tech says 10 minutes, so I wait. So, now I have the paperwork
and here is what I find when I get to the truck.
Complaint: both passenger side windows will not operate from door switches.
Will work from driver console, but not passenger doors. Dealer Response: could
not duplicate problem. Well first, they had told me on the phone that they ordered
two switches, now I am standing here and the switches don't work. I get the
manager and he agrees they wont work (problem duplicated!) Will have to order
new switch and bring it back for repairs!
Complaint #2 - slipping in transmission or rear end on light acceleration. Dealer
Response: replaced pinion and bearing. BUT it still does the same thing, NOT
fixed.
Complaint #3: Engine code # xxxx Dealer Response: Found small EVAC leak no longer
present. I'm sorry, if you found it, its present, if its no longer present,
how did you find it? No work done? Got General Manager Steven Gensler name and
number and since he is not in, I left and will call him. Since then I have called
and left messages for him but he has still not returned any calls. And boy are
they sharp here at Bob Brady, when I got home on 8/8 I had a message from Bob
Brady time stamped at 1:38 (while I was at the dealer) telling me that my parts
are in and asking me to call to set up service. Absolutely the worst dealership
I have ever dealt with. Not sure which has me more upset the rude attitude or
the incompetence that leaves me still having two of the original problems that
it went in for.

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Poor, Parts=Don't Know, bought there=No, scv_there=Yes,
Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=Yes,
Bought a Durango in Tinley Park with an extended warranty. The truck was having
problems with the cruise control, the service department claimed they could
not "duplicate" the problem although I did the next time I drove it.
Their recommendation-wait until it gets worse or fails completely, they did
not want to replace a supposed $600 part on a guess but they didn't know what
it was since the truck would not do it for them. I called the dealer where I
bought it, which is 2 1/2 hours away, they think its a simple fix and would
be happy to fix it or call a local dealer for them to fix. Plus, when comparing
price, they were higher than other dealers. Have heard other people locally
say this was a lousy service department, do not recommend!!!

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid, bought there=No, scv_there=No,
First i found a truck and they sold it from under me. they said their were none
like it around to get from another dealer. i went 30 min. away and found the
exact truck 3000$ cheaper. I think because i am young (24) had a lot to do with
it. Today i went in with my first problem (minor front end noise). They told
me i would have to wait 2 months! Just got on the phone with the dealership
i bought the truck from they said bring it in today. I have no clue what kind
of business they are trying to run. I highly suggest Obrien dodge in springfield.

Sales=Excellent, Service=Excellent,
This entire dealership was a breath of fresh air in this day an age of poor
service. When we started negotiations we were extremely far apart, but they
were willing to listen and negotiate. They assured me they wouldn't be undersold
on the vehicle I wanted, and after some research they weren't. I was able to
meet the owner who was extremely friendly and wanted me to know that if anyone
didn't treat me right, then let him know. Heck, this dealership even introduced
me to the service department and how it all works. This was my first experience
at this dealership, but it will not be my last.

Number of dealership visits=3, Last visit=August 2002, I purchased my automobile
from this dealership and have recommended it to friends who have bought vehicles.
They are professional and make you feel welcome. Since my purchase I have had
my car serviced there with nothing but flawless results. They will give you
a ride if you need to be somewhere and when you get the car back it has been
cleaned and serviced as you would expect. These folks know what they are doing.
It is a beautiful dealership and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
