Boy, am I ever mad at Marshall Dodge. I called them today. My father's car won't start in cold temperatures. It will cranks, but the motor won't fire. I told them to replace the temperature sensor. The girl in the service department said that they would have to order it and that it would be in Monday. She gave me the usual run around about "Well, it might be the starter." I told her it wasn't the starter. It's either the temperature sensor or the computer module reading the temperature sensor. They always give you the same song and dance about, "well, if it's not doing it now, our computer won't detect it."
Well, they didn't call me back. They called dad down to pick up the car. They picked him up. They replaced the coolant temperature sensor, in other words, the thermostat. How they could think that could possibly have anything to do with the car not starting is beyond me.
I am mad. They charged him $75 dollars for something he didn't need on top of the $400 fuel pump which was replace just over a year ago. They just screwed us over. Of course, when the temperature falls again, the car won't start.
Way to go, taking advantage of an 83-year-old veteran, who served two years in a combat zone, so that you could have the chance to screw him over. This isn't the first time either. Two years ago, they screwed him by replacing his entire air conditioning system, when all he needed was a compressor.
My mini-van a few years back was having problems with the rear struts which hold up the tailgate. The tailgate wouldn't stay up. They replaced them and I had the same problem and minute I drove it off the lot.
