Sales=Poor, Service=Poor, Parts=Poor, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes, Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=No,
We bought a 2004 Dodge Dakota SLT in June 2004. Around November we had an electrical
problem. No headlights, power windows and the Auto-Lock remote did not work.
We took the truck to the dealership and after about a week they thought they
finally had it repaired. I have now taken it back for a 5th time for the same
problem. After speaking to one of the sales managers by the name of Scott Skees,
he had the following resolution. I could trade my truck in (which I have already
been paying on for about a year) for a 2005. I would have to put money down,
my monthly payment would be higher and my interest rate would go up. He said
that Chrysler would not let him take a hit and go into the hole for buying back
this lemon, but they would be more than happy to have me pay them more money
for the privilege of driving a dodge. He claims that is the best that he could
do. Then he had the nerve to be rude to my wife when she called to inquire about
when the truck would be ready to pick up. The only person who actually seemed
like they were concerned about what was going on was the service manager, Chad
Martin. Chad seemed to genuinely be concerned about the situation and apologized
repeatedly. I have since called the Dodge/Chrysler Corporate office and am awaiting
arbitration to see if they will buy this vehicle back from me based on the Kentucky
Lemon Law. Not only will I never buy a Dodge/Chrysler auto again, I will never
do any business with any of the Swope auto dealerships again. I had been a loyal
customer to this point and this was the second vehicle I had purchased from
them. I was planning on buying a third next spring when I traded in my van.
After this latest series of events I will go elsewhere for my next vehicle.
I suppose that Swope does enough business that losing a customer really doesn't
phase them.
Be very cautious before you deal with the Swope Dealerships. I would recommend
to anybody to shop around first.
