Sales=Don't
Know, Service=Avoid, I bought my 2001 Dodge ram 2500 V-10 from a dealership
in upstate NY, but live in MA. When I brought it in for service to Motor Quest,
I was treated like a criminal. Conveniently, they could not find any of the
problems I had listed (even though the exhaust was falling off and the coolant
recovery tank had a hole in it). They said they took it for a 20 mile test drive
to check the innoperative cruise control, but the mileage was identical to when
I brought it in...new law of physics here??? The General manager said "I have
no control of the service dept..." Now I bring my Ram 210 mile for service to
the dealership I bought it from.

Sales=Excellent,
Service=Poor, Sales was excellent. See Mark Rogers!! Service is pathetic.
I was a dealership mechanice for ten years until switching careers. Truck blew
rear axle pinion seal next day in first 100 miles. The service department immmediately
gave me a hard time, wouldn't give me a loaner and I had to leave truck overnight.
Drove truck another 5000 miles...same leak. They replaced yoke, stating it was
pitted (couldn't see that the first time?) and new seal again. Approx. 2000
miles later started hearing a whine from rear end which has gotten progressively
worse. Took truck in and service manager accused me of giving him a hard time
because I didn't have any confidence in them setting up a rear end properly.
(gee, when you drive the seals in with a pucnh and hack up the housing I wonder
why). Truck is in there now waiting for bearings which are on order. Think they
had anthing to do with this problem. If they just gave me the parts I would
have fixed it myself. When this is settled i am done with them.
Sales=Don't
Know, Service=Poor, Service was good, but I thought that work was done by
the time spent on the job to repair the problem. Not by the time it takes to
do it in the Repair book rated time. I had them remove the bumper on the front
of my dodge. So I thought 20 mins. At $75.00 an hour. What the max could the
labor be to do the job? $25.00 or $50.00 dollars. No they charged me the book
rated time to replace the bumper. $136.00 !!! This is crazy. For six bolts holding
a bumper, which they must have removed with a air powered impact wrench. I called
and Asked why I was charged this much. They said it is what they charge to do
the job in the tech rate manual. I said, but I asked for the bumper to be taken
off. Not replaced. So the time of labor should be half or a third of the time
of that. They said no, that is the way they do things and charge to do the job.
I also so had my a.c. repaired by them. Which I could not understand how a repair
job could be charged over $680.00 in lab! or for work which most likely took
five or the max of six hours. I feel raped. If all dealerships do work this
way. I will never go to one for repair work again.
