August 19, 2004
Last Wednesday, August 11, 2004 I took my 2001 Chevy Tahoe into Salvadore Chevrolet
& Oldsmobile in Gardner, MA for my routine oil change. During the course
of the work I was told that I needed front brakes, I had only about 200 miles
left on them. I asked the charge and was told it would cost me around $600.
I was not prepared to pay this much money out on such short notice so I told
them I would call for an appointment.
I made arrangements for a private reputable mechanic (Butler Garage, Dyer Street,
Gardner) to replace or repair my brakes today and he was shocked when he looked
at them and found them to be perfect.
I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau or Worcester, Chamber of Commerce
- Gardner, and General Motors because I believe this to be inexcusable, especially
for a supposedly reliable dealership. I really feel that I was being taken advantage
of by Salvadore's. Luckily for me, because I was not prepared to pay out that
expense on the day I was in for the oil change, I was saved from an unjustified
repair but how many others have fallen prey to their underhanded practices.
I have submitted this claim to the BBB of Worcester, MA. as well as the General
Motors Co.

Sales=Excellent, Service=Excellent, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
I had a few problems with my 2001 Ram 2500 4x4 quadcab pickup I bought used
at Salvadore's. They fixed EVERYTHING!! I did have to pay the 100.00 deductible
but they did over 850.00 worth of work. John Z (Used car manager), Paul (service
manager) are a great bunch of people! Highly recommended!

Sales=Avoid, Service=Good, Purchased, paid for, took title to brand new
Ram diesel. Had to call the POLICE to make them turn the truck over to me. They
tried to change the agreement on the trade-in. i.e, they must have decide they
did not screw me badly enough. I prevailed..got my vehicle AFTER the police
came and I threatened to charge them with Larceny of Motor Vehicle.
