Sales=Good,
Service=Poor,
I bought a Dodge intrepid brand new in mid 1999. No one else had ever even tested
the car except me and I bought it after 2 test drives. Within 2 weeks of having
the car, the front passenger window stopped working. I took it back to Herb
Gordon service dept to fix and picked it up later that day. When I was out with
my wife and she went to open the passenger door, it didn't open. I had to go
around the outside of the car and let her out. I took the car back the next
morning and it turns out whoever did the repair of the window forgot to replace
some kind of bar that connected to the inside door handle. My next problem was
in mid 2001 when I started having transmission problems: the engine did not
shift into 2nd gear. I took it to Herb again and was told it was a bad solenoid
and needed to be replaced (for a several hundred dollars). I contacted Daimler
Chrysler and they said to submit an original receipt and they would reimburse
me for all but the diagnostic costs. A couple months later, in 2001, I had the
same transmission problem and thought the solenoid was bad again. I took it
to Herb again and this time it was a bad part inside the transmissions, so it
would cost a few hundred more to fix since it wasn't the previously replaced
part. I did not submit the receipt on that one yet, because a couple months
later, the right rear passenger window stopped working, and about a month after
that, the driver's front window started to stick. It would take several tries
and many minutes to open the driver's window. I contacted Daimler Chrysler about
it and told them about all the problems I have been having with the car and
that if I still had problems after these are fixed that I would take the car
back and demand my money back because the car is a lemon. I also told them I
wanted them to fix the problems and provide me with a rental car if it takes
the day to fix them. Daimler said to take the car in for a diagnostic to see
what is going on, and that they would pay enough to "make it worth my while"
to get the work done. Since I drive 65 miles per day, the car has over 61,000
miles on it, so the manufacturers warranty is no longer in effect. The problem
I have with that is that if there are problems with a car that have nothing
to do with the mileage, ones that are defects, they should repair the damage
free of charge for the purpose of customer service/customer relations. I don't
like Chrysler anymore and I will NEVER, EVER buy another car from Chrysler and
I hope to spread the word to as many family members and friends as possible
to let them know the problems I have had. No one should have to go through this
kind of crap for a car that was bought new and should not have these types of
problems. Do not buy from DaimlerChrysler until they fix their problems and
start dealing with customers.

Sales=Don't
Know, Service=Avoid,
They overfilled my transmission during trans service. Took 3 trips back and
still couldn't get it right. They repaired a loose part on my dashboard. They
used some kind of glue goop that got all over the dash and radio etc. Service
manager had to fix it himself (mechanics had left for the day). He thought the
mechanic must have had a "very bad hangover" that day. Is that any way to run
a Dealership? They left one of the bolts out when changing differential fluid!
Two of the above I had to fix myself. It took days for them to even get to my
truck after I made an appointment. Very, very poor service.
