The salesman, Tom Pompender, was very honest. I told him I wanted gas mileage (was trading in an 02 escape getting 19mph on hwy) and he showed me a few cars but none were the gas mileage I wanted. Next thing I know, a Shane Davenport was out on the lot talking to us. He showed me a program car, worth the money. I STRESSED I wanted 30 mpg hwy. That was the whole reason I was trading. He very vehemently stated "you will probably get 35 mpg hwy BUT I WILL GUARANTEE YOU (IN WRITING) 30 MPG". I stupidly took him at his word. Picked car up on Friday. Had to go back in for detailing on Tuesday (they set the appt) and they were supposed to fill it then. I figured the gas mileage after I FILLED it (they put in $20) and only got 24 mpg. Now Shane is saying "I never said that" and the whole selling point on the car was gas mileage. What a loser!!!! Have heard of other complaints since then. Capital City Chrysler (as of May 10, 2006) has had 8 complaints file with Attorney Generals office and 2 lawsuits in small claims. Wish I had researched the dealership first. Now they will have 9 complaints and 3 lawsuits.

Sales=Fair, Service=Excellent, Parts=Excellent, bought there=No, scv_there=Yes, Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=Yes,
I have been extremely pleased when dealing with this dealership. The service department has always gone the extra mile to make sure that my concerns have been addressed. They have kept me apprised of servicing my vehicle might need but have never attempt to sell me service I don't need.
They also are the most reasonably priced in my opinion. We purchased our van at another dealer out of town for the simple reason that the sales department wouldn't deal with me so we took the best deal we found. But, getting back to the Service Department, I have done business with Scott Hoershgen, and Russell Clennin. These 2 guys are what I call Customer Service Specialist. They made me feel right at home told me exactly what was wrong, and let me know the time it would take to fix it. And also, stated some preventative measure to have done that would keep it good running order. I have worked with Russell in the past and he's a great person. But, I've worked mostly with Scott who seems to be truly genuine in his communications on what you'll need for your auto. I applaud Capitol City Dodge and if we ever need to buy another van it will be a dodge

Brought our vehicle in for lower ball joints being out, as we just had new tires put on over at Jim Lewis Tire shop (which i might add is the best tire shop i've ever dealt with), i asked Jim and his staff to align the front end after any typical new tire change, he said he can't the front lower control arms ball joints, are gone. I told them they shouldn't be as Capital City Chrysler replaced them under a safety recall just two months prior, he stated, I think there the original ones!! When I got there, sure enough the original ones were on it!! Capital City had lied about doing warranty work! I take the vehicle back to them, they show the work has been done in there paperwork they pulled up, but i said there out again, so they replaced both arms under the safety recall again. This time "I" double check there work, brand new set for sure was on it. At least they got them replaced I figured. But who knows how many others they tell they had safety recalls done and never did it?

Sales=Excellent, Service=Don't Know, bought there=Yes, experience=I went there to just look at cars, the salesman Shane Davenport was more than helpful. I would have to say he is the best salesmen I have encountered. he takes his time and is honest. I would send my friends to this dealer.

I went to the service department to see about fixing a noise and replacing my drivers side mirror. I asked to check on the warranty. They did not call me when they said they would, so I called them. They had not checked on my car until after 3:30 pm. They were supposed to call me back after they checked it. They didn't call me and it was almost their closing time, so I called back. They said that they had to order the part from St. Louis and that it would take a couple of days. They quoted a price for all and I said fine. They would call me in a couple of days. They didn't. When I called they said they had the parts but didn't put them on yet. Again, after 3:00. They would have it done and would call me soon. They said they still hadn't checked on the warranty and that the mirror they had ordered was wrong. That it would cost 4 times the cost they told me. I said no unless it was covered under warranty. I had to call close to their closing time when not hearing from them again. They said the part was wrong and they would have to order another one, but they weren't sure about the noise. the guy supervising this said that they could get it up the next day and see what the problem was. I called back the next day after 3:00 after not hearing from them and the supervisor wasn't there. Another guy from the service department said they had to order the part next week. I came to get the vehicle at around 9:00 that night. The side mirror was cracked. It was not when I brought it in. It was also not mentioned to me that it was. I had another mechanic look at the jeep. He said they had put on a part, which I was not informed of them putting on. We brought the vehicle to him to take care of. He checked on the warranty immediately and informed me that they were not accepting claims b/c they were going to court. He also was able to get the parts immediately and fix it in the same day. He also was able to get the mirror at almost 10 times less the cost they had told me. I feel like they treated me like a "stupid woman," and that they were not being honest with me. I called to talk to the service department and to the man who was supervising and he made no apologies. He said that he was not there on Friday and was not aware of anything. Also the new mechanic said the part that was on was not from St Louis but local. I am not going back there. We are getting ready to trade in vehicles and I will not do any business with anyone who doesn't show me respect.
I would love to know who I can talk to about my experience. I want to know that other women (or people in general) are not treated like I was.

They have kept me apprised of servicing my vehicle might need but have never attempt to sell me service I don't need. They also are the most reasonably priced in my opinion. I recently purchased an extended warranty for a vehicle that I purchased at another dealer in town (the other dealer told me I couldn't get an extended warranty on my vehicle).

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid,
Car Trans serviced once, fluid/filter, 1 week later running all over the garage, no pan leak, seals leaking on axles, take to dealer, say it was fine a week ago, they say "oh needs a trans pump, rebuilt trans and seals" $853. I was furious. Left to a tranny shop locally, fixed it only $83!!!! The tranny shop said they had over 7 qts drained from it (only holds 5 in pan fluid change) thus blowing seals etc.... Its had over 10,000 miles since then, working fine.
Never buy anything from them, they lie and tell you some b.s. story.... Sales persons are crooked will never go there again.... Go to Beck motors, many of my friends have 10x better experiences, no hassle, bottom line. I bought a used truck there at Capital City. That's my first and last time dealing with them....
They do not service there used vehicles.... I was told they changed the oil and filter, wash engine/body/wax, change fuel filter, and filled the fluids etc. before delivery... 5 star used truck check BS!!! got the vehicle home.... the filter had dirt on it (like been there a while). everything was low, and dirty. Even the tire pressure was 21 lbs in two tires. Only thing it got was a wash and Armor All on the dash. Spent 3 days getting it up to par... changed every fluid in the thing. At least they could've changed the oil and checked it over???? GEEZE
Yes you can buy a car there, but never get it serviced, or talk to anyone otherwise. They're idiots. Their service dept is a bunch of morons what else can I say. I've showed them several TSB's, and they say "oh, its looks OK" I have yet for them to repair a recall! isn't that illegal?
Only thing I go there for now is parts I can't get at the local parts store. (so I don't have to drive 30 miles) That parts guy is the only knowledgeable person I found that works there. I can go on and on, just don't trust them, especially when its some punk mechanic 20 yr old telling me what's wrong with my 40k truck. Buddy I found TurboDieselRegister.com, and 2carpros.com, one Chiltons, one Haynes manuals for her car. Up yours. Haven't seen them in two years.
I don't care how rich you are or honest or smart.... Common Sense, and Brains, and Do-YourSelf-Attitude is the only way to get things done right. That's if you live in this small town and don't have any options for a trustful dealer in Jefferson City.
