Service Dept. provides poor customer service. They did not return my call after
they replaced the belt tensioner for the 2nd time in 12 months. They put in
the wrong part. The service dept. man told me the part needs replacing after
60-80,000 miles. I had 58,000 miles and the part was replaced by them 14 months
earlier. I have also taken the car in several times to find out why my mileage
is so bad. After spending $2,000, the car is still not running well with 8-10
miles per gallon.

Sales=Good, Service=Avoid, Parts=Avoid, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=No,
I bought my beautiful Neon at this location in 1998. We had a wonderful salesman
and got a very good deal. I loved this dealership. HOWEVER... By the following
year, I had moved home, to California, and noticed a few problems. The dealership
there took care of everything they could, but did not have the tie rod in stock
that I needed (A TSB bulletin on it), so when I returned to Missouri a month
later, I took it to Dodge City expecting the same service excellence. I WAS
WRONG. Sure, they fixed it, but they put it on the lowest possible priority.
It took a day and a half. They were very rude about it, and claimed they had
NO RECORD OF MY WARRANTY!! My car was only 1 year old, and I BOUGHT IT THERE!!
Luckily, I had the warranty papers with me with their signatures....heh heh.
I questioned why they needed my warranty, since the part was required to be
a free fix anyway. They argued with me. I let it go.....Attempt#2 at getting
my car serviced at Dodge City. 6 months later, I developed a nasty oil leak.
It was the head gasket.. a full-on recall was ordered on this problem. AND my
warranty required them to furnish a loner car for me since it would take a whole
week. After some convincing, they agreed. Ok, no prob, right? I go to pick the
car up, after returning the loner, as they told me to do, and try to charge
me $500. for RECALLED PARTS!!!! They claim "The part is free, but our assessment
fee, labor, and time spent machining the part costs money" Machining the
part? They were supposed to full-on replace it!! So, after some HEATED arguing
and bringing my father down there, they let it go. I didn't make it out of the
parking lot. It died. They had to take it back in the shop for another 2 days
to fix whatever they broke. After I did drive it home, it NEVER ran right again.
It slowly deteriorated, and they wouldn't do a thing about it, even though I
had an EXTENDED WARRANTY!! I hate them for what they did to the only new car
I'll ever be able to afford. $15000 down the drain because they ruined my baby!
Now I drive a 97 Intrepid which is on its last legs and has an exhaust leak
which gets into the car while you're driving. But i know i can't take it to
them... When my friend moved here with her 98 Stratus, her transmission stopped
shifting. We took it to D.City. Big mistake. They kept it for a month, did NOT
furnish a loner. And charged her the whole amount claiming her warranty was
not valid at this location because it was not bought at this location!! But
they said they'd be kind enough to knock it down to $1500 for her. And wouldn't
budge. They wouldn't let her have her car until they got their $1500. for completely
covered warranty work!!! And one month later, her car died in the middle of
the road, in the intersection of 63& Clark Lane. Please, folks, save your
vehicles and your wallet. avoid Dodge City Motors of Columbia, MO at ALL costs!!
Its 4 years since my last trip to this dealership... And I still have fantasies
of dropping a large bomb on the service manager as well as the whole staff.
By the way, Dodge City fired the guy whom gave me such a great deal... I guess
he was too honest! Rat Bastards!

Service Manager and Owner was only worried about, if I had bought my vehicle
from them. After he found out that I did not buy from them I was told to take
it back to the dealership where I bought it. I found out through the Dealership
that I bought the vehicle at that there was a service bulletin on this problem
and asked why the Dodge City Motors did not correct the problem since that is
what I took it in for. I still have not received any follow up from Chrysler
Corp. or Dodge City Motors. I will not buy from them and I will recommend to
my friends not to buy from there due to there customer service. I'm VERY DISGUSTED
and would like to see some follow up. I think their service dept. needs to work
on their service!
