We visited Southtown Dodge because we were considering a new vehicle and we had just got done shopping at south county mall, When we went in we were happily greeted and felt very welcome, which was kinda nice considering the last 2 we had been to acted like we were imposing on their time, Our salesman Dave Wolf was incredible he answered all our questions and made us feel very comfortable with a purchase that really had us scared to death. I would highly recommend Dave Wolf and southtown for my and anyone else's purchase.

I had a nice dealing with Southtown Dodge over the last week. You can read about it here (blog).
Blog Excerpt in case the  link fails:
The Mad Blogger knows when to jump on a good deal. So he calls the dealer up this morning to tell them he'll be there at 4:30pm to give them his pre-approved loan information, and pick up the vehicle. Good ole Mike Wall comes back and says, sorry, we can't clean it up for delivery till we have a deposit or have started on the paperwork. So The Mad Blogger agrees to go down there over his lunch break and get the paperwork started. TMB doesn't really care if they clean the Tahoe, it's going to rain today, all he wanted was them to put the Brush Bar back on the front which they had removed between the first time TMB looked at it and the second time he went back.
TMB arrives at the dealer shortly after 11:30am this morning, good ole Mike Wall is there with the paperwork already started. Mike looks over The Mad Blogger's preapproved loan information and tells him that he won't be able to turn the Tahoe over to TMB for 7-10 days. WTF? Excuse The Mad Blogger, did you just tell him he can't pickup this truck today? TMB comes in with a loan check that he's been told is as good as cash and Southtown Dodge won't let him take the vehicle for 7-10 days? TMB don't think so.
After 15-20 minutes of no progress The Mad Blogger decides it's time to leave. The first thing TMB does it call up his lender to verify that the check should be good as gold with a dealer. They confirm this and say that they don't have problems with dealers accepting their checks, they did offer to talk to the dealer and have them a check mailed next day to arrive on Saturday. TMB declines, he's done dealing with Southtown Dodge.

Have had a great time with my 2000 Ram. Just recently they saved me because they told me had transfer case problems, and I didn't know it. It was covered under my Chrysler Extended Service Contract. Thank you for looking over my vehicle and saving it from breaking down as I go back and forth to school.

Spoke to Ray Mercer who was very helpful and courteous. Rick in financing is the most inconsiderate and inpatient finance people I've seen in a long time. Darrel (Used car manager) was very uncooperative and abrupt. Joe in financing is probably the best of the bunch.

My salesman was Mike Font, he was excellent and gave us a very fair deal. We would love to buy from him again, and will be sending our family and friends to him in the future.

Have no idea what they are doing in the service dept. with the Sprinter product. Ignorant service writers with the biggest problem being the service manager! With time, I'm sure they will get better, but I wouldn't count on it.

This is the absolute worst dealership I have ever been to. I brought in my Dodge avenger because there was a recall on the steering column. I brought in my car to be inspected and the good people at Southtown discovered a fault with my engine. They offered to fix the problem at $800.00 and give me a rental car. This sounded fishy so I took my car back home to my dealership. The people at Auffenberg Chrysler said the problem was a common one and Dodge had a rebate for it. It would cost me only $100 to fix it. I threatened to sue Southtown Dodge if they did not return my $50 inspection fee. They responded with a coupon worth "10% off my next visit". What a bunch of jerks!

Sales=Excellent, Service=Good, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
I have bought 3 vehicles from Southtown Dodge in the past 10 years. I am about to buy another. The salesman is Chris Ruble. I have found Chris to be very knowledgeable on the vehicles I have purchased, 2 Caravans and a Ram Pickup. He has been very honest with me and strictly no pressure. Before buying my truck, I considered buying a Ford but the salesman gave me a big run around and tried selling me a truck I did not want. I am about to buy a new truck and have already talked to Chris. I will be buying in the next few days. As for the Service Dept., We had a lot of trouble with the transmission on our first van. After numerous trips by my wife in which she was told the problem was normal, it shifted from 1st to 2nd at 50 MPH, we called the Chrysler hotline and the Service Dept. decided to install a new transmission which solved the problem and we never had any problems after that.
As for my truck, I have taken it back for an oil change every 3000 miles because it is a diesel, and the bill has never been the same any two times. The coupons they send in the mail are all for cars and even though it says "Trucks and diesels slightly higher" I have been told by 1 particular service writer (Harold), "This coupon can not be used for your vehicle because it is a diesel" they give me a discount on the oil change but they always seem to add some other charge. I have only had a few other things done and have not had any problems with that.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid,
Our salesman was not at all helpful. Daryl Haley was his name and he was a heavy smoker. I know this because he left me sitting there at his desk, while I was late for work, trying to hurry through the paperwork so he could leisurely go outside and smoke cigarettes, then come back smelling strong enough to GAG a nonsmoker like myself. I was buying a 2000 Dakota RT, the flagship of the Dakota line, and this guy knew nothing about them. He didn't know the towing rating, or anything about the Towing class action lawsuit in 99, didn't know what trans was in the truck, anything about the inherent cooling problems of the other 5.9s, what components it shared with a Durango or Cherokee 5.9L, nor was he very helpful in researching any of those things. I feel he pushed the truck off on me as an easy sale since I wanted it so badly. He and his sales manager DARREN (unknown last name) came up with 101 different sets of numbers/trade in deals and finally I thought I had a good deal. Ended up They gave me less than I owed on my trade and snowballed it into the new loan without telling me exactly that's what they were doing. On paper it looked like they were giving me $500 MORE than I owed, but come to find out it was the opposite. Next their customer service made a major mistake and in my opinion and everyone I tell this story to opinion is they FAIL MISERABLY! Being rushed into buying this new Dakota, I left some personal belongings in my trade in. I am sure this happens ALL THE TIME. In fact prior to this vehicle, My GMC dealer called me at home the night I bought a Sonoma there to tell me I had left a Business card in my trade in. Now That is Customer service. Something as simple as a business Card my salesman called me personally about. Anyhow, when I called Daryl Haley at Southtown Dodge THAT NIGHT to tell him I had left belongings he told me the cleaning company already had the truck and anything left in it was their property at this point. WHAT? I had to tell him what I left, so I told him it was a $100 pair of FRS walkie talkie radios that were brand new, just taken out of the box. He didn't seem to care and just reiterated that once the cleaning company took the truck everything in it was confiscated and kept by them. He even said the employees would divvy up the change and other items they found in trade in vehicles. After arguing with Darren, the sales manager, that this was indeed my personal property and not a part of the vehicle trade in deal I finally got them to call the cleaning Co to recover the radios. Apparently an employee had already removed them and stashed them, because they were nowhere to be found. A call to the cleaning company turned up a very nice manager who said Southtown Dodge TOLD HIM they could keep anything they found in the vehicle. They mysteriously got returned to Southtown and upon picking up the radios the sales manager, Darren, was very rude to my wife telling her it wasn't THEIR fault and we should have checked the trade in vehicle before we were rushed out the door into our new one. She walked out speechless.
Lastly, as a sales issue they pushed an extended warranty which I am all game for purchasing, except they didn't sell me a Dodge warranty, they sold me some underwriter policy with a deductible and now I find out I have to file my own claims. What a PAIN! If I had known that I wouldn't even have bought it.
My truck has had several service issues none of which Southtown was able to fix. In fact, they adjusted my TV cable BACKWARDS making it shift worse than it did before service. I took it in because the truck was hitting the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift. They called at 2 to say it was ready, but yet at 5pm when I arrived to pick it up I followed my own truck into the parking lot. One of the porters had been out driving it in the rain. I know a 5.9RT does not go well in the rain and there's no way to tell if the trans is slipping with 260HP in the rain... NO WAY! That is 3 hours after they said it was ready, and why would a PORTER be out test driving my personal vehicle in the rain? So I took it to KING dodge for a 2nd opinion. They found it was adjusted the opposite direction so far it could have caused damage internally. After checking out the trans they gave it a thumbs up, but I know how it felt before and now it slips in 1st and 2nd when its cold. IT NEVER DID THIS BEFORE SOUTHTOWN DODGE MOLESTED MY TRUCK.
Do not ever go to Southtown Dodge on S. Lindberg Blvd for anything. They will sour your sales deal and perform incorrect service on your vehicle. I will not ever go to Southtown Dodge again even if they gave me the truck free and paid me to have it serviced there. I wrote 2 certified letters to the owner of the dealership, Wayne Cuningham, and neither were responded to. I think that speaks for itself.
