My husband and I went to bayside to trade our Dodge Ram in for another truck, we were told in 5 mins that Chrysler would not approve us and that was with a stuck up attitude in OCt 2006. We went down to Champion Dodge in Gulfport and trading our truck in through Chrysler. I had to go cancel my GAP insurance with Bayside and there Finance guy said we would have the check in a couple weeks which he never filed till January. He sat there and argued with me that I still had my truck, while I was there I called Champion and had them verify they had the trade in. He got mad and told me he would have my check ready that FRiday and to pick it up by 12 noon or it would be mailed off. My husband had to go up there after 12noon and was able to pick the check off cause he lied. The sales guy we dealt with ran away when I drove up in my new truck. I will not suggest going to Bayside, if anyone wants a Dodge go to Champion
If anyone wants to go to a dealership that treats you with respect and helps you out go to Champion Dodge on Pass Road. Bayside just treats their customers wrong and make them act like they are stupid

EXPERIENCE 1: 1996 - I traded in an automobile on a Dodge RAM truck. At the time the auto was in the body shop getting repaired from a rear end collision. The salesman and I went to the body shop to look at and appraise the car for trade-in. The deal went through and was approved by the sales manager and I purchased the RAM with my trade in and drove off. A couple of years or so later, after I had made my second purchase there, an attorney contacted me on behalf of a buyer who purchased my trade-in and was going to sue me. The dealership had sold him the car without telling him the car had been in a accident and told him that I had traded the car in without disclosing this to the dealer. Well that was obviously not true since the car was appraised at the body shop, picked up from the body shop and approved by the sales manager and picked up at the body shop by the dealer when it was complete.
EXPERIENCE 2: I later traded in the Dodge RAM for a used Ford Bronco to pull my boat (before I knew about the law suit in Experience 1). I bought the truck on a Saturday and the financing approval process went through with a payment schedule interest rate, etc.. Two weeks later the salesman called me and said my financing was not complete. I went back into the dealer and he claimed that the financing didn't go through because of my credit rating and that I would have to get a loan for 23% interest through some high risk lender. Now my credit wasn't the best but the dealer made a deal with me on Saturday and basically concealed the fact that they could not process car financing on Saturday. Had they told me this I would have been glad to come back on Monday to make the deal but they were afraid they would loose the sale I suppose. Anyway, when I went back into the dealer I rode around the back of the place and saw my trade in still setting in their yard. When I talked to the salesman I told him that I didn't want to pay 23% and I wanted my trade-in back and we would not make the deal. This thief told me that they had already sold my truck and it had been shipped out. Well, I was livid and on the brink of a major loss of composure and felt it would be better to take a beating than to give one and end up in jail, so I left. A couple of weeks later my payment book showed up for 23%. Once the 23% loan went through I had to get the car refinanced on my own. I dealt with 4 people at this dealership who were all apparently dishonest including the sales manager. One dishonest salesman could be blamed on the individual but a series of dishonest acts must be attributed to the business paradigm of the dealership. I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALER TO ANYONE.

Just heard about the wheel deal with Dodge Dakota trucks. Apparently they might fall off due to a wheel bering problem. Expect to get letter for repair soon. Naturally it's covered by the drive train warrenty..At least I hope it will be.

Bought truck new in late 1999. Almost from the first month I have had problems with the brakes. What is wrong is that the rotors are too small or light built and they warp the first time you really have to brake hard . Dealer said that the brakes were not under warranty after 10,000 miles and that it was my problem to fix. With less than 20,000 miles on my truck, both rotors were warped past the point of being able to be resurfaced. Talked with service manager and had no luck. Talked with the sales manager (who is the owner's son) and was told to take my problems outside and leave the sales area.Went back to the service manager and he finally compromised to make me pay for the labor and the dealer would absorb the cost of two new rotors. After doing this, within two months the rotors were warped and causing the truck to shudder again. Dealer blamed this on the tires being out of balance and tried to balance them. Truck still shuddered when braking and now vibrated while just driving down the road. Took truck to where I normally get my tires and they rebalanced them and truck rode fine. Still shudders when braking and will until I replace the rotors once more. Getting rid of truck and won't buy a Dodge again until they fix their brake problem. Wont buy or recommend Bayside Dodge again. Said that before in the 80'd when I had another problem with their service folks. Charged me for adjusting the carb on my Dodge D-50 truck and when I got home the blanking plugs that were factory installed over the adjustment screws had not been touched. Still had same dirt on them as the rest of the carb and no scratches or marks anywhere to show that they had been removed.

DEALER FAILS TO CHECK PAYOFF ON MY TRADE-IN AND DEMANDS DEFERENCE FROM ME - THREATENING TO SUE - THE WORSE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD BUYING A NEW VEHICLE!!!!!!! On Saturday 2/15/03 Bayside Chrysler-Dodge in D’Iberville MS , talked me into using my 2001 Tribute as trade in for a New Dodge Ram. After being approved for the loan that same day through Chrysler Financing Dodge, they had me sign a form stating I would be responsible for any charges beyond any payoff of my Tribute they put on the contract. I thought they were talking about small frivolous charges like processing fees, so I signed it. The new truck I ordered would not arrive until Monday and they insisted I take a loner vehicle home because they did not want me to put more miles on my Tribute. I came back Monday morning and the truck was not there as they said it would be and I told them I had to go out of town overnight and needed my Tribute. They again insisted I take a loaner car, so I really felt the loan and everything was surely was complete. However when I returned the following evening to pick up the new truck, they said the original loan fell through and I would have to sign a new loan contract with another lender at higher interest and a higher payment. I told them specifically to only check with Chrysler Loan Company when they had done the original loan, because I did not want a bunch of inquiries on my credit report that would lower my credit scores – but Bayside ignored this and went through several loan companies anyway. I reluctantly signed the new loan contract with the higher rate and payment. Then things got worse. I thought the payoff they listed for my tribute ($22,000 was the payoff they found through my bank). But on the following Monday 2/24/03, the Bayside Dealership loan manager called me at my work and said I was short $1200 on my payoff of the Tribute and that I owed $23,200 not $22,000 , and demanded I come down and write them a check or get a side loan from them to pay the difference. I explained to him, I thought since he had already charged me $33,000 for the Ram , and the sticker price was only $26,500, that they had just worked the numbers out on my contract to allow a full payoff on my Trade-in . The loan officer accused me of not acting in good faith because I told the dealer I thought I owed around $22000. I told him that was ridiculous – as I explained to the dealer , I only had a payment book and never knew exactly how much I owed. I thought they had verified all of this on Saturday, but they didn't. The loan manager claimed the banks were closed, but they were at least open all day on Tuesday 2/18. They also seen my credit report on Saturday that I later found showed I owed close to the new amount they said I owed. He got seriously hostile with me and defensive over my questions, and said I just needed to get down to the dealership and pay the difference or he will have their attorney get involved and it would cost me thousands more. I offered to bring the Ram back and cancel the deal altogether but he refused, and he refused to give my Tribute back to me. Since, I do not have $1200 dollars I guess I will now have to get a loan for the difference. If I don't pay Bayside now they will cause my Tribute loan to go into default and take legal action against me. I guess they will get what they want, but they certainly will never ever get my business again. I also checked with the Bayside General Manager and Customer relations manger – it was apparent to me they are all buddies! IF YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR OWN TRADE IN PAY OFF - DON'T SHOP AT BAYSIDE!!
