I had made a down payment on a 2005 PT Cruiser that I planned to purchase as
a graduation gift for my daughter. We made an appointment to pick up the vehicle,
certified check in hand for the total purchase price less the down payment.
We were made to wait for over an hour before we were even seen by the sales
representative. The vehicle was not even prepped for delivery! Two of the tires
were nearly flat, the vehicle hadn't been washed or even filled with fuel! We
had to wait even longer for this to be done, and that was done poorly. We were
promised that if we bring the vehicle back at a later date it would be properly
serviced and cleaned, which we did. Ilderton's idea of detailing a vehicle is
to wipe some tire-shine on and call it good. I had to go back 4 weeks later
to get a simple control knob for a dashboard air vent, and the persons who tried
to find it not only did not have it in stock, they could not even find it in
their parts manuals for a vehicle of the most recent year model. When they finally
did find it in the tech manuals, they ordered the wrong part twice! I have yet
to receive an apology from Ilderton, and I have yet to receive even a response
to the survey or the letter I sent to Chrysler. In a nutshell, if Chrysler were
the last auto manufacturer to build a car in the United States, I would buy
Japanese.

My trucks transmission lost 5th gear and reverse. I took my truck to Ilderton
to have it fixed and I was not pleased with the quotes I received. They wanted
to charge $800.00 just to look inside the transmission to see what was wrong
and then they offered rebuild my transmission for $3050.00 or to replace my
transmission with a rebuilt one for $4032.00. I asked if they could just replace
the 5th and reverse gears and they said that there was only one replacement
part in the whole country and they didn't think they could get it. They also
said I needed to get a new clutch which I did not. I had my transmission completely
replaced somewhere else for just under $1300.00 total. Although I bought my
truck there and the experience was fair, I would not return because of my experience
with the service department. Stay away from Ilderton Dodge in High Point.

Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=Maybe,
Kept my car 7 days after promising it would be ready in 3. Supposedly fixed
6 recall items the first week of October only to have the freeze plugs blow
out and the car towed in 2 weeks later. Promised to have the car fixed in 3
days since I was going out of town. Had to repeatedly call service manager to
find out what was going on.They finally admitted that they blew the radiator
and hoses and were having problems getting the parts. Finally had to call the
owner of the dealership and threaten a lawsuit to get my car back. AVOID LIKE
THE PLAGUE. For your own safety.
