This is not a dealership you want to buy from. Once you sign on the dotted line,they treat you like sh@t. I have bought over 50 new cars and trucks in my lifetime and this place, by far, is the worst experience I've ever had. After picking the vehicle I wanted, signing all paperwork AND taking the truck home, they called me and said there was a problem with financing. I was told Chrysler financial approved me in the showroom, signed the papers,gave my trade in to them and was home at this time. They said I had to return their truck or sign a different financial agreement. They sent a person to my workplace, and of course didn't have time to read all the small print-long story short-they had switched my 60 mo/6% loan to a 72mo/16.9% loan without even telling me-how much more profit did this dealership make off me? They did the identical thing to my daughter 2 yrs earlier.
According to several blogs I've read-it's a common practice at this dealership-BEWARE of KEFFER DODGE-their crooks

Sales=Fair, Service=Poor, Parts=Good, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes, Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=No,
Poorly trained and rude service staff, absolute confusion, no follow up, work done without authorization, final prices on authorized work were greater than originally agreed to, impossible to get anyone on phone, when I did get someone on the phone, no one knew anything about my repairs (advisor had gone home), very unpleasant experience and, after 10+ service visits I think I have given them enough chances, - need I say more?

So, I stopped by Keffer Dodge about 3-4 weeks ago to look at the new 05 SRT-4. I went in on a Saturday afternoon and test drove one. I was working with a sales guy who was new to the area and seemed a little shaky, which is no big deal. After speaking with the finance guy, we were about a $1000 off from making the deal. I asked the dealership to take $1000 off the sticker if they wanted to move the car. The sales guy told me he need to speak to the sales manager and he would give me a call back that night. Well, he never called back that Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. So I called him back that Monday afternoon to see what was going on. He stated they got really busy Saturday evening and he didn't get a chance to speak with him. It was no big deal as that Sunday was mothers day anyways. He said he would call me back on that Monday with the information. Again, he never called me back. So, I called back on that Thursday to speak with a so-called "sales manager". I spoke with Chad Miller who stated he would look into it and call me back that day. Of course, he didn't call me back either. So, on that Saturday, I went to Chryslers website and filled out a complaint form about the dealership. They basically responded saying they were sorry and maybe we could do business in the future. What a great job of trying to keep a customer. Well, about a week and a half went by and Chad called me back finally and sounded like they were desperate to sell one of these cars as they had the same 5 sitting on the lot for over a month. Well I decided to give it one more shot and he was asking me THE SAME questions I had already answered like 4 times to these people. He said he will speak with the finance manager and call me back. Well again, he never called. So, I called back like 3 days later to ask him what the hell is going on with this. He stated they needed me to come in so we can work out a deal. For the 1000000 time I explained I want an interest rat! e quote and wanted to know if they were going to take that 1000 off the sticker. Yet again, he told me he would call me back in like an hour. That was 4 days ago and I never heard a peep out of anyone. DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP. They have HORRIBLE customer service that is a JOKE. I would not buy anything from this dealership if they were the only car dealership in the country. They are a joke and have no courtesy and even had the audacity to insult me one time. I will make sure no one I know ever goes to this crappy "dealership". I hope Mr. Keffer knows how bad of a staff he has at his "dealership".

COPY OF FORMAL COMPLAINT SENT TO DODGE ON 1/13/04
I would just like to say that I just got off the phone with your Service Department here in Charlotte NC. Under no circumstances would I buy another vehicle from Keffer Dodge. Your Sales department is beyond approach. You got a lot of nice guys & gals pushing the sales. Your parts Department there has a really great guy in there, the poor soul is always being overworked and by himself. He is impeccably nice. Your Operator is burnt out and she needs a break or some serious help. Now let me explain to you why I would NEVER buy or recommend Dodge Keffer to anyone. I have been treated horribly by Dodge over the last couple of days. The operator has been bomgarded so much that she can't even get to the calls because she does not have any help. No one answers the phone at the Service department to confirm anything. If they do the place you on hold and never call you back. To think, I was in the market for a new car. Your service Department is rude, apprehensive about providing "common" customer service and I think you are losing many customers as a result of their being treated so well on the front in with your sales department and being treated like "crap" on the back end. I am seriously disappointed with your staff there. I have called and asked Tony Wallace to return my calls, he hasn't. I simply took my car in for a routine re-call and it seems that no one can find my car or provide me with an update of the status of my car. The person who towed my car in "Triple AAA" said that they could not even take the time to check the car in. Please have a Regional/Corporate Manager to contact me at once. My name is T. Bradley, My telephone number is 704-***-****. Oh, by the way, the people at your recall center hung up on me twice as well. If I do not hear from you guys I will contact Action 9 and have your business put on the 5 o'clock news telling everyone how you treat your customers.The address to the Keffer Dodge that this letter refers to is 4800 E. Independence Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28212
Last comments=I simply would never buy another car from Dodge under any circumstances. Right now, they have lost my car and can't seem to find it.

Bought a used Dakota and the radio didn't work, took it back to the dealer and got a ride back to work. Went to pick truck up after work, and it wasn't done and no one knew who was working on it...they couldn't even find it!?! After 20 minutes of searching they finally found it out back and of course same radio. I took the truck that night (after I put my dash back together) and stopped back at the dealer a couple days later, the salesman who sold the truck to me told me to stop back tomorrow and he will have me a working radio. I went back the next day and guess what, he had me a working radio!! He put it on the front seat of my truck and told me I could install it quicker than the service department, Dick Keffer will never see any more of my money or anyone I can convince how bad they are.

Keffer Dodge had a 3rd party install a Ford keyless entry system in my 1997 Dodge Ram before I purchased it new. I just found out about it a couple of months ago when when my remote when bad, and I tried to replace it. Service assistant just put me off, service manager and GM will not take or return my calls.

Sales service was great.. F&I manager when over options and talked with me about how to protect my car with the least out of pocket expense. During the conversation I mention the Air Force. He stopped everything ask if I could get him a DD214 and when I said yes. He took another 750 off the truck because of a new Dodge Rebate for military Vets. I had been to the other Dodge dealers looking for a truck and this was the first place I when that I got the feeling they were working to give me a good deal. The F&I manager when above and beyond for me. And yes he did trying to sell me an extended warranty and Insurance but the way he presented it was a great low pressure sale. The way he explained GAP insurance by drawing out how it works got me to realize it made sense. Would I go back.. YES.. would I recommend friends "Already have"

Had a problem with our full-size Dodge van we purchased from Keffer Dodge. Have had many problems with the van. Last Thursday the service engine light came on and stayed on. Took the van in to Keffer Dodge for repair. They said I needed all kinds of stuff - $450 worth. Got the work done due to our vacation with the grandkids. Left out of Charlotte this morning. Got to Rock Hill and the same light came on. I pulled over to re-check water and oil. The engine was idling rough with a "ping." Took the grandkids home. Took the van to Keffer Dodge. The service was closed so I talked with the manager about options (Leave the van? Give me a ride home?). He had the nerve to suggest it was time to trade!!! No one had any interest in anything except to sell me a car. Do these people think I would buy a car from a dealership that absolutely does not give a flip after the sale? This afternoon was another low for customer service. I will be back Monday morning with the same problem plus the new one - minus the vacation we had planned with our grandkids. Thanks Keffer Dodge.
There are too many dealers in the Charlotte area to be subjected to this type of abuse. If they ever get my vehicle repaired - I mean - really repaired, I will NEVER deal with Keffer anything.

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Poor,
Mopar parts prices extremely high when compared to same or similar part at NAPA or Pep Boys. Paid $28.00 for a replacement fog light bulb that was available at NAPA for $8.00. Returned the bulb to Keffer parts department with explanation that pricing was too high. They stated that this was discounted pricing. Hate to see what list price for the bulb was.

Dealership Rating:
Good sales department, good service
Fair sales, fair service (new 08-20-02)
