Sales=Excellent, Service=Poor, Parts=Good, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=Maybe,
In the past ten years I have either bought for myself, my family, or helped
my employees purchase about 25 vehicles from Triad Dodge. Sales have always
been excellent, but service had problems. Last year the service department didn't
close the lid on my air filter box and the unsecured air filter got sucked into
the turbo and diesel engine. Triad replaced the turbo and said the engine was
strong enough to not have a problem digesting an air filter. I started to get
excessive pressure engine to the point the dip stick would get blown out onto
the motor along with oil. Service insisted this was normal, but finally consented
to replacing the short block. Most oil leakage stopped, but I still had some
so I took the truck back. They insisted that engines leak oil, but I insisted
not engines from a 2006 with only 50,000 miles. They took the truck again and
returned it as fixed. While the truck was in the shop they gouged the hood and
repainted that area the wrong color.! !
I pointed this out to the shop and they did accept responsibility and also acknowledged
my truck still leaked oil. They said a Dodge engineer would be coming in to
look at my truck. After my truck was in their shop for over 30 days they called
me and said the engineer had told them that I possibly may have flashed the
computer in an attempt to get better gas mileage, so they didn't have to honor
my warranty. This was not true, so I called Dodge Corporate and they said I
could go to another dealer and they would honor my warranty. I went to Kernersville
Dodge and they put dye in the oil and found a leaking oil pan gasket, and a
leaking cam seal. Both probably caused by them being improperly installed at
Triad when the short block was changed. My hood is still not properly fixed,
the gouge repair looks like it was fixed by an amateur. This wasn't my first
bad service experience. I bought a Dodge Ram for my elderly parents in 2001
and in 2006 they took it in for an oil change. My parents are elderly, in poor
health and the service department pressured them into repairs totalling $2000.
The sales managers made that bill up to me with a new sale discount, but that
shows how the service department operates. Curtis Capps, the manager, is always
polite, buts acts as if he has no authority to do anything. He always acts like
he wants to help, but his hands are tied. The time spent dealing with the issues
on my 2006 covered a years time and in that time I bought two more trucks from
Triad. My loyalty ended up meaning nothing and they tried not honoring their
warranty with the lie that I may have flashed the computer. Shame on them and
shame on me for being such an idiot to keep going back. No more. Never again
will I buy from Triad Dodge. Excellent sales doesn't make up for poor service.
Overall I think Dodge makes a very good product. I own 5 right now. However,
some of the dealers are out and out crooked.

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Poor, Parts=Good, bought there=No, scv_there=Yes,

I haven't bought a vehicle there personally, though my father has, but we both
steer clear of their service department. Countless times have we taken a vehicle
in to get serviced to only have to go back and fix it ourselves anyway. One
time, my father took his 1988 Dakota to have the heat riser valve replaced.
Well, we got it back and it still had the exhaust leak. They replaced the heat
riser, but failed to see if that eliminated our problem, along with stripping
a manifold bolt. Instead of tapping it back out and replacing it with a new
one, they just drilled it out and stuck the old one back in there. When we went
to replace the manifold (the REAL source of our problem), that bolt was barely
still in the hole (it fell out while removing the manifold). So WE had to tap
it out and fix it right. However, the parts department is good. If you get parts,
ask for Pat or Allen, they have been there the longest and they will do their
best to get what you need.

I live around Atlanta, GA but travel a lot for work. I made up my mind about
EXACTLY what I wanted in a new RAM. I had looked at many dealerships around
the Southeast and found the right truck, but just not at the right price. I
had done my research before going into any dealerships at carsdirect.com and
had picked out my preference of options and already knew the suggested retail
price and dealer cost. I was working in the area (Winston-Salem, NC) for a while
last June and stopped at several dealerships in the area. Most notably, Lake
Norman Dodge, which is relatively near Triad Dodge. They wouldn't negotiate
below $28K (1500/4DR/HEMI/premium cloth/2WD, etc) for basically the same truck
I bought the next week at Triad for $24K. Plus the salesman - and sales mgr
- lied to me about several items that I knew better about. I haven't been back
since I bought the truck, but if I lived up there I would definitely go to them
again.

Found the truck I wanted on their lot when my Ford ate 'another' transmission.
They knew i wanted THAT truck and still treated me very fair on price and had
the service department install the Jake Brake and a local shop put in the fifth
wheel hitch for me prior to delivery. Only complaint is the 'paperwork fee'
of $391 as I recall that was tagged in at the last and 'unavoidable.... Didn't
like that, but whaddyagonnado ?
Wish we could take it there for service, but we live in Seattle..Salesman Mark
Cass and sales manager were both great. Met parts counter man and lead diesel
mechanic and both were very knowledgeable and helpful on my few technical questions...

Very easy to deal with and fair. I was very happy with my experience. I live
in Charlotte, NC and would rather buy here and drive to pick up the trucks.
I've lived in Charlotte for 10 years and have bought 5 trucks/cars(it's a habit)
and have only purchased one around Charlotte. Lake Norman, Boby Mayberry, Fort
Mill, and especially Metrolina are nowhere near the quality of these guys. I
have tried to deal with all of them multiple times, and they don't even come
close. Keffer was good to deal with just poor inventory in my opinion. Make
sure to do all your shopping online. Research and be informed.

Sales=Good, Service=Good,
My sister worked in sales here for a while, and she liked the work but hated
the hours. She says the sales staff is good. Dealership has an excellent diesel
mechanic (I have talked to him and he knows the engine well) and the service
dept is good overall.
