Second visit to the service dept was handled a lot better. Wasn't given a run around like the first time.

I had a brake pulsation on my 03 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab. After finding a TSB on your Web Site I called to make an appointment. After reviewing my Warranty manual I discovered that the pads and rotors were only covered for 12000 miles. The TSB called for the Calipers to be replaced so I called to find out if it would be covered under warranty. I was told that the brakes were not covered past 12000 miles. I called the Dodge 1-800 number and explained my situation to the Rep. She agreed with me, put me on hold and phoned the Dealership. When she got back on with me the situation was resolved and it would be covered under warranty. The end results were that the calipers were not replaced as per the Dodge Tech Line because they were not the cause of the problem so they replaced the rotors instead of cutting them.
It's a great truck. As a Class "A" Certified Auto Tech I don't appreciate the way some Service Advisors assume that everyone they deal with are Idiots. I include some that I've worked for. I found it very frustrating after I explained the problem I was having and the fact that I was aware of the TSB and was still talked down to on my initial phone call. It was different after I contacted Dodge.

I stopped @ Dayton Auto Ctr.(Chevy) with my 2 children because we had purchased a van from them. I met w/ Eric Morales, who was courteous. I explained that recently our truck had been totaled and we were in the market for a new-used Dodge Dakota, 4.7 V8. He sent me down the road to the Dodge sales lot. Once there, my children and I walked up and down the entire lot looking for a specific truck I had seen on the internet and Eric had on his sheet paper. In the 20 minutes there, two other potential clients, both male, arrived at the lot. Sales reps immediately seized upon them like flys on poop. I on the other hand with 2 children and a van that needed a washing got NO help. What an abomination that still in this day and age that as a woman I was not taken seriously as a very probable potential customer. I have money in my pocket and a need. It'll be a cold day in hell before they'll get my business. I am so angry over this mistreatment.

Buying a truck from Pete was a breeze. I felt no pressure from him or the manager at all. A pleasant experience.

I made a service appt. two weeks in advance so i could make arrangements to be able to use someone else's car. When i spoke to them i told them it was for the recall and two other problems, the first being the window on the passenger side kept getting stuck sometimes open sometimes closed and my car is 2002! i told them it would not work on either side of the controls and i asked them if they needed to replace the motor do they have it in stock and of course they tell me yes i also told them i was going on vacation and i did not want to get stuck with the window not working we were driving to florida!! oh no problem they tell me,i guess i should have known better when they called me at 9:30 to tell me the car was done. i tell them i will be there around 4 or so since i am in school till 2. Well this is were it gets bad, i get my mom to pick me and my son up who is just a baby we go there they tell window is fine i tell them no it is not so they get a manager he says i will show you fine lets go well he played with it for about 5 min oh it is fine as the window got stuck well he said maybe it needs a motor well a rocket scientist well let me go see if i get one of our guys to fix it meanwhile my mom and baby are sitting out in the 90 degree weather !!to no avail he comes out and tells me they do not have the motor . well you know how you would feel when he tells me to bring it back monday well lets see how am i to get to school and take my baby to his grandmothers well i asked them do they loan cars and with the demeaning voice not for the weekend well i do not need it for the weekend my prob. is i have no transportation for mon. well i was madder then (you know what) you screwed up not me if you had competent mechanics then i would not be in this position now, so you need to provide me with some form of transportation. well after 2 hours and yes mom and baby still outside waiting they decide to let me use a loaner needless to say it is filthy, the windshield wiper is broken, there was a box of rotten pastry in the back seat !! well you all get the picture i will never ever rely on these people for anything they should be ashamed of themselves.

Our recent experience at Dayton Dodge proved that the days of honest, low pressure sales are not gone. We came to the dealership with specific requirements and had researched vehicles, options and prices. Our salesman, Jerry Lowen, was accommodating and personable. Jerry allowed the deal to happen by recognizing that we were knowledgeable buyers on a mission to purchase. The process from first drive to closing the deal involved some minor haggling over pricing and accessories and the resulting deal allowed us to come away feeling very satisfied. We'll be driving our new Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins HO Laramie to Texas shortly and can't wait to hit the road! Thanks so much Jerry. It was a pleasure meeting you -enjoy your retirement!!!

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid, I have never been treated worse. Sales staff charged us for "free" warranty. Car was slightly damaged on dealers lot, service rep. told my wife, " Yea, they always realize it's damage after it's been on our lot for a week." After they got caught overcharging us, they offered to pay Dodge our first three payments to equal the amount owed to us. They never made the payments, now I have a past due "90" on my credit history. Our current vehicle was the second vehicle purchased from Dayton. I will build my own next time. We came back a second time because we live in the area, I'll drive to Florida to buy a car before I give those a-holes any more business. My story is a walk in the park compared some other unfortunate customers that I have had the displeasure of meeting.

As a female I expect (when I go alone) to be treated like an idiot, but at least most major car centers do it with politeness and don't ignore you. This dealership only paid attention to me after I brought a man with me and EVEN then we had to hunt down a salesperson to get service. Horrible that when you want to buy a car in a not so good economy that you should EVER have to TRY to get the attention of salespeople. You would think they would want to get the business MALE or FEMALE!
