I've only met one Service Advisor who knows the meaning of "service"
and I only got to deal with him the first time I went there for an oil change.
(His nickname is Whip.) The last two times I went there for oil changes, TSB's
and a recall, I dealt with the same guy who basically lied to me both times.
On most recent visit, he told me that Desert Dodge has no way of pulling up
the service record of my truck unless the work was done at Desert Dodge. I said
that seemed odd and that other manufacturers and dealers had this ability. He
told me, "Well, Chrysler doesn't and it doesn't seem to matter to them."
I was stunned! And I figured that was total B.S. so I called Daimler Chrysler
today and they told me, yes, of course we can call up the service history of
your truck that's been done at dealerships. So why this particular Service Advisor
would lie to me is beyond me. Bottom line is that I don't trust Desert Dodge
Service Dept because of this one guy. Too bad for them as I'll be taking my
truck elsewhere for service.
In the 3 times I've been to Desert Dodge, I've never been given, nor offered,
a Customer Service Satisfaction Survey and yet they ask on their receipts that
customers give them high marks or talk to management. Desert Dodge is listed
on Chrysler's website (and plastered throughout their dealership) as a 5-star
dealership. One of the criteria for getting that grade from Daimler-Chrylser
is that Desert Dodge must get consistently high marks from customer surveys.
And dealerships badly want to be 5-star because they then get big incentives
from the manufacturer. So I kinda doubt that I'm the only person that never
got a survey from Desert Dodge. Put 2 and 2 together and something smells fishy!

Purchased a Previously owned Durango in May 2000. First they did the bait and
switch tactic with me, then sold me a vehicle that had previously been in a
serious accident and lied about it. The salesman told me the vehicle had a 5.9L
engine and later found out that it did not. The salesman lied to me about the
value of my trade-in and buried the cost in the paperwork. Needless-to-say,
due to the accident, my Durango was frequently in the shop for service and they
always took longer than quoted, and often I had to return to have the work performed
again! Every time I went in and told them about the poor condition of the vehicle
they sold me, the salesman and manager did nothing about it, except offer to
sell me another vehicle (and screw me on the trade-in value of my Durango!)
I left there for the last time in February 2003 and swore to never step foot
on that lot again.

I live in Southern Utah and recently found a CTD to buy. I had it at a Credit
Union getting it appraised when an old friend from high school approached and
asked about the truck. He told me I would be a fool to not give the boys at
Desert Dodge a chance and to call Scott "UTAH" Reber and let him know
what I was looking for. I called that day and the next and again on the second
of Jan. and always got the same routine. First they would answer the phone and
I would ask for Scott or a member of his sales team. The receptionist would
transfer me to another who questioned why I needed to talk to Scott. I would
tell her why and that any member of his sales team would do. At this point I
was always put on hold for a lengthy period. Eventually, someone would answer
the phone and ask what I wanted. I would tell them what I am looking for and
each time they told me they would call back within an hour. To date no one had
ever called me back. I know the type of truck I want is readily available. I
wonder how desert dodge claims to be number one as they sure didn't make any
effort to sell me a new truck?

anyone who is thinking about buying a vehicle from them should seriously reconsider!!!

Well I brought my 2000 Dodge ram Van custom conversion van in for simple 22,500
mi maint about 1430 Monday afternoon. I noticed two rows of cars & pulled
up behind the very last car. I waited in the car thinking a service advisor
would acknowledge me or my van. I waited & read a whole magazine from front
cover to back cover. That took about 30 minutes. Still nothing, so I got out
of the van & started standing around nodding at people as they walked by.
Still nothing. I guess I was just expecting too much. Usually when visiting
a place of business people greet you and say things like "may I help you"??
Well, that never happened. Finally a friendly young hispanic male who wore mechanics
coveralls asked me if I needed any help. I asked him for vehicle service. He
pointed to a large glass enclosed booth with about three desks & three men
were sitting behind each desk. I slid the door open & walked in. I waited
about five minutes before anyone would even acknowledge me!
Finally a guy said may I help you? WOW I just could not believe my good fortune!
I told him that I would like to get service on my van. He said go see the lady
in the enterprise booth & make an appointment. I said thank you & got
in my van & drove away. When I first moved to Las Vegas 19 years ago people
were much more friendly than they are now. Signed still looking for service
for my beautiful custom conversion van.

Went in for a simple part replacement and was met with inattention followed
by unwillingness to look at the problem which had already been checked by technicians
in CA. I asked that they at least order the part which the CA dealer had prescribed
and instead said that I just needed an appt. and then I'd have to bring it back
to have the part installed once it came in. Bad attitude

I brought my vehicle to Desert Dodge on 7/7/03. First they had the car three
weeks and return it to me. The car pulled hard left. Called and talked to Chad
3 times very very hard to get a hold of. And if he returns you calls consider
yourself lucky. It also had a leak in the power steering fluid. Return card
to them to fix. They had it another 3 weeks finally they fixed the pulling to
the left but still the power steering fluid problem was not fix. Originally
the power steering was leaking a little when they returned it to us it was leaking
profusely. The problem still is not fixed as of 9/8/03. I am very angry at the
service that Desert Dodge has giving to me. I am in the process of writing and
calling AAA to make sure they know of the poor poor service by Desert Dodge.
Hopefully they will remove your names from the list.

I took my 01 CTD in for an oil change after a terrible experience at Towbin
Dodge. The first visit went well, and I thought I found a decent place to have
my truck serviced. The first visit was oil change, differential service (x2),
and trans service, as my truck was at 56k miles. A full day and a couple hundred
dollars later I was on my way. The second time around I needed and oil change
and coolant flush, also time to check the brakes. I had a squeak from the cupholder
and one from the drivers side door/pillar area. They charged me 30bucks to fix
the squeak in the door area, which still squeaks. They charged me 80 bucks for
a new cupholder and 90 bucks for their guy to install it! They did a full brake
job at over $300 and the brakes have been screeching ever since. I have not
been able to return to see if they will rectify, at this point I am not sure
that I want to go back.

I took my truck in for about the tenth time.. 30 k total for steering problems.
Since I just moved to Las Vegas, I figured I would let Desert Dodge have a crack
at it. When I took it in, it had about 3 inches of play in the steering wheel
and a constant pull to the right. I dropped it off early afternoon and got a
call about 4 pm that they would have to keep the truck over night as they were
replacing the steering gear box, track bar and pivot arm... I went the next
day and picked it up and It is just like new again... Steering tight without
that obnoxious pull... I think these parts had been getting progressively worse
since about 15k and 9 shop visits to other dealers ago. It sure is FUN to be
"driving" my truck again!!! My hats off to the boys at Desert Dodge!!
