Sales=Poor, Service=Poor, Parts=Don't Know, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=Maybe,
The first problem i had with the truck the rear end was making noise, (only
30 days after buy it), I check rear end lube and it was 1 QT low. I returned
the truck to the dealership, they found bad bearings. They argued that their
used car inspection would have checked the gear oil level, although there were
no leaks in the diff, also they argued that low oil would not make the pinion
bearing go out. They finally agreed to give us a "used car warranty"
price, which means they would cover only partial expense. Next, a few months
later, we were still within the 100k mile warranty, we took the truck back to
them because it was lacking power with no fuel pedal response. They told us
to drive it until the problem worsened because they were unable to get the truck
to "act up" while driving it. When we returned again, they found a
code for the injector pump. We were told that our warranty is void because of
the Banks turbo kit on the truck. We argued that the truck was sold to us that
way and our salesman, Mark Kidd had indicated to us that the truck does have
a warranty. A week later we received a call from Rob (service manager) who said
he had heard of our problem and would like to look at the truck himself, he
had been on vacation. He assured us there would be no charge to look at it again.
We returned with the truck, he kept it for 3 days this time, we were upset to
hear the only time it was being test driven was to and from his home and he
did not ask us permission to do that. On the third day he called and told us
what our bill for fuel was and asked if we would agree to pay his "diesel
tech" $75 to diagnose it. Although he was confident it was the injector
pump, he wanted to be sure. He also offered us the used-car warranty again which
would only cover a very small portion of the $1500 part (which is not even new,
reconditioned) and half the labor. Upset that a "diesel tech" was
not the first to look at the truck and that he now wanted to charge us for the
diagnosis and repair, we decided to involve an attorney and we took our truck
home. Rob said it would be between us and our salesman if we were told the truck
had a warranty. When we spoke to Mark he replied, "well, I do know some
turbo kits do void a warranty, but I didn't think yours did" If you read
the warranty manual, it states if you add after market parts, chrysler
will not warranty THOSE parts or ANY DAMAGE THEY CAUSE. Rob then stated that
no, our warranty is not void but because the banks computer harness has a clamp
on a wire coming from the injector pump, the injector pump would not be covered.
The TSB about the injector pump is received at all Dodge dealerships nationwide,
Mark Kidd should have known this and made us aware at the time of sale. Now
when we speak to Rob, he is uninterested in helping, he says we can take him
to court.
