They sold me a severely damaged car. I got to replace several parts after I
found problems. They did not repair it when I craimed about. Then, recently,
I needed to replace a few parts. After 3 weeks, nothing happened. They keep
saying that the parts have not come yet--. Amazingly terrible staff.

First off, my wife and I bought an Intrepid, not a Ram. We also did not do too
much car-buying homework when we went to Spitzer. We went to Spitzer because
they offered a $3000 minimum trade-in on any vehicle we brought in. Apparently,
however, that did not include the car we were going to trade in. We never got
a satisfactory reason why. We were able to talk the price down a bit, however,
but I still believe we paid too much due to our naivety. We bought the extended
warranty which paid for itself many times over because quite a few things went
wrong with the car in its first 64,000 miles, including suspension pieces, brake
equalizer valves (30,000 miles), and the A/C evaporator, all of which was covered.
RE: the evaporator, however..... I had to fight to get that part replaced because
CostGuard said that the diagnosis occurred two days after the warranty expired,
which was due to scheduling conflicts at Spitzer. I called Spitzer every week
since then t! o see if they had received the go-ahead from their contact person
in Elyria, and was assured each time that the supervisor would contact this
person again. I finally ended up tracking down that contact person and contacting
him myself. 15 minutes later, Spitzer's service manager called me and we scheduled
the car for the warranty service. Through the whole experience, Spitzer's employees
treated me with utmost respect and seemed genuinely concerned with my plight.
I will write a letter to the general manager of Spitzer praising the service
people because I feel that while it is easy to complain about a bitter experience,
it is just as easy, though less common, to give credit where credit is due.
Please keep that in mind if you found this site because you were searching for
common problems with your Dodge or are researching dealerships. For every negative
experience people have posted about a dealership, there are many others who
did not bother to give their opinions.

If you are not aware of Ohio laws. Once you buy your car, that is sign the contract.
You are the owner. You are stuck with it. Don't go by what sales agents promise.
If it is not written down in contract, you are pretty much done with this dealership.

I called the service department because I have an electrical problem with my
car. My light bulbs on my car keep going out. The service department told me
that was normal. I have owned six different cars and that hasn't happen with
any of my other cars. I do not know if I would every buy another dodge piece
of junk car.

When you explain problems, this dealership will never go over and beyond to
look a little harder for the problem(s)to get solved. They give you your vehicle
back and there are screws missing or pieces missing, or its not put back together
all of the way. They give you its "normal" answer when it's not "normal".
They are lazy and do not try. You get the words "can not duplicate"
most of the time. Incompetent service department. I would NEVER buy or service
vehicle. Not a trust worthy company to deal with. The service advisor (Don)
is cocky. He thinks he knew what he was doing and knew my situation......HE
DID NOT. He told Chrysler rep over the phone I was no longer welcomed there,
then lied about it. I would not trust Spitzer ever again as long as they have
people like that working for them. The Spitzer Management office was called
several times and they never returned a call. Spitzer does not care enough about
their customers!!! They are interested in selling cars! and that's it! I would
NEVER deal with them again!
I have been a loyal chrysler customer all of my life, I have a big family and
I do not recommend Spitzer to anyone!!!

Kept taking the vehicle in for repair. Always got a lot of excuses....can not
duplicate. When the vehicle ran out of warranty I was no longer welcomed. As
long as they got paid from chrysler, they were happy to serve me. The service
dept. mickey moused my seat that had been in 23 times! They went through to
many service advisors, which cause a lot of problems for me. They tell you things
are normal running or just "normal" when they are not! The Spitzer
Management when contacted never return your calls. They just don't care once
a vehicle is sold. Their service and sales dept. stink! They say things that
are not true. Service does not want to take care of you the right way if your
vehicle was bought at a different dealership. You are put on the bottom of the
list. I would not ever buy from Spitzer or deal with their service dept. EVER
again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been a loyal dodge, chrysler person all of my life.......that
may change because of Spitzer service.
Can you say LEMON? I put up with a lot of inconvenience because of this truck
and the dealership I used. Spitzer sucks!

Sales=Excellent, Service=Excellent,
Never have I been treated so great at a car dealer. The price was fair (after
some negotiations of course) and the service department has been excellent in
making sure any problems or regular service I have needed were taken care of
in a prompt and courteous manner. I would definitely recommend you give Spitzer
Mayfield a chance.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid,
I bought my Ram Pickup at this dealership and was told during the test drive
that the truck had the the towing package on it. When we returned to the dealership
the salesman and I commenced in negotiating an agreed upon price/payment. The
salesman wrote all the features that I was most interested in on a piece of
paper (the towing package being one of them). This was also the piece of paper
he wrote his payment offers on. After doing all of his "Let me get this approved
by my manager" routines we came upon an agreed upon payment. We filled out all
the paperwork and I went to look at the truck which was no where to be found.
They took it around back to wash it. I left the dealership very late (after
closing) because of the very long approval time. When they brought the truck
out it did not have a hitch on it. The salesman said bring it by tomorrow and
we will put it on for you. I did not get my hitch (or my towing package). I
was told if I wanted I could bring the truck back and they would get me a truck
with the towing package on it for an extra $50/ month on my payment. I was suckered.
I could not afford the extra payment so I just kept the truck as/is.
The service department tried to correct
a rust problem on my rear chrome bumper with an SOS pad there by scratching
the chrome. After arguing for unacceptable amount of time I did get the bumper
replaced and did not return to their service department for anything other than
warranty work.
