Following up on my earlier post (Apr 6, 2004), I finally won against
the gangsters, and got a buyback, $30,660 plus PST, for a Liberty that is 23
months old, so I guess it's an OK price. Unfortunately DC picked Brampton Chrysler
to handle their transaction; this is the dealer that banned me!!! I took the
Liberty in, got my cheque, and in the wow of it all, I left without my plate.
I went back a half an hour later, but Ed The Sock STOLE THE PLATE!!! I had to
call the Police, to deal with this childish owner, and they did. He delivered
the plate to Police 22 division the next day. Ed The Sock is a piece of work.
He used to be a silent owner before, with Tim Robertson running his dealership
for him... but now, with King Moorhead gone in service, the abrasive, foul mouthed,
Ed The Sock is fully in charge.

I leased my second vehicle here last summer. My experience has been very positive.
They never performed service that was unnecessary. I was concerned about the
condition of my brakes and after they tested them they determined there was
25% left on the pads and since this was a leased vehicle that would be turned
in a couple of months down the road they suggested I wait it out. My experience
at other dealerships has been quite the opposite. They have tried to fix every
little thing and made it seem very urgent and that not having these services
done immediately would be a cause for concern. I was very impressed with their
care and regard for unnecessary deflation of my pocketbook.

Mopar addict, 10 years with this dealer, 4 new purchases, still have an 01,
02, 03 from them. I'll spend $20 for a part, and fix myself (under warranty)
'cause the Service department has a habit of fixing one thing, and screwing
up another. I have watched them deteriorate, and get worse with attitude over
the last few years (I blame Daimler). With my 03, after 10 visits, they have
told me to piss off - it's not a problem! (according to them) Will not give
a work order for warranty work, if they can't fix it - this dilutes your paper
trail. Parts dept sells for 10-15% over suggested list. You definitely do not
want to talk to the owner... you'll get further talking to yourself. While I
can't totally blame the dealer for the attitude (Daimler takes some), my business
relationship is over, both with the dealer, and Daimler. Try writing a letter
to Windsor some day, and you'll understand that their crap trumps the dealer's
crap.

Too much to type again...here is letter I sent to the dealer...love the van,
disliked the service at the dealer where we bought it.
To whom it may concern:
Good day, we brought our 2001 Grand Caravan van in their yesterday (Invoice#
CCCS178555), and were dealing with Bass Mangra and Kingston Moorehead.
First, let me say that Mr. Mangra is an outstanding service advisor. Please
make him aware of our comment.
I had complained about a clacking noise which I believed to be related to a
bearing noise. The noise was similar to the noise emitted by a lifter/pushrod
that is not getting any oil, a "clack" if you will.
I was advised by a friend of mine who is a mechanic at Downsview Chrysler to
bring it to you first because you sold us the van. We obliged because up to
this point, your service has been on par with your 5 star designation. He said
if we had problems with you, that he would look into servicing the van.
Mr. Mangra had Mr. Moorehead listened to our van and even though it was obvious
that the noise was abnormal, Mr. Moorehead, acting in the supposed capacity
of Service Manager, declined to perform the repair and informed me that he "would
be surprised if any other dealership would spend the time to investigate the
noise".
We left your dealership with a bad taste in our mouths as I knew the sound was
not normal. I was going to bring it to Downsview Chrysler but decided to get
a second opinion, and so we brought the van into another Chrysler dealer this
morning, a dealership with whom we have never dealt with.
The van is now being kept overnight as they suspect the noise is related to
the timing chain. Because of the inept attitude of your service manager and
his refusal to invest the time to even try and investigate the cause of the
noise, we will never be bringing our van into your dealership for any further
business, warranty related or not. If we do decide to purchase another Chrysler
product, we will look elsewhere even though you are right down the street from
us. Please remove us from any lists that require a representative to contact
us for service related follow ups or issues.
I will also be filing a formal letter of complaint to Dodge Canada with respect
to Mr. Moorehead?s lack of concern towards our issue and his obvious need for
a refresher course related to his customer service skills.

Sales=Excellent, Service=Avoid,
Bought my 97 Cummins turbo diesel new, sales and leasing dept were great. Parts
department is also very good. Service absolutely sucks !! Service department
is a joke, very rude, impatient, and refuse to listen to the customers complaints.
Took them DAYS to even look at my truck, all the while telling me it was being
worked on. Left truck outside every night (when I was guaranteed it would be
parked inside due to expensive toys on truck), truck was FILTHY inside and out
after repairs, I could go on and on. Service manager is a rude jack a$$. He
voided the complete warranty on my truck without even looking at it. Said it
was due to a snowplow being installed. It has one, and has had one from day
one. That's the reason I bought the truck (to plow), it was spec'd for it, dealership
and DC knew all about it, and he decided to tell DC that the truck was abused
??? due to plowing. Funny how plowing can wear out your fuel sending unit (known
DC prob), and cause the DRL's to quit (another DC prob). Body shop is also a
joke as the BS manager could not recognize the rail dust in the white paint.
Gave me the usual excuse, environmental fallout. Had to go to a regional rep
from DC to get any satisfaction. Sorry about the rant, just a little pissed
at getting SCREWED by the service dept after buying a $55,000.00 dollar truck
from the SAME dealer. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS, There are to many other good
dealers who actually want your work, so shop around. Have used Davidson Chrysler
in Scarborough, and they were awesome, they bent over backwards, and have never
spent a penny there.
