Sales=Poor, Service=Poor, Parts=Good, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes, Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=No,
I bought a fully rigged truck with front brush guard with wench and roll bar
Fog lights on the roll bar and lights on the brush guard.When I went to pick
it up they had stripped it. There was no brush guard or wench.The lights were
all missing and they had poured soapy water into the remote CD player and destroyed
it. They even stole the spare tire from under the truck. I had to make an absolute
scene in the middle of the showroom to get any one to even talk to me. Then
they lied to me and continued to deny me any satisfaction until I told them
I was suing for the value of the whole truck. I got the brushguard and winch
but no lights or CD player. Then I took it in for service.They said it had a
miss in it (V-10) so they changed my plugs and wires at a cost of over $400
dollars.Then they said the exhaust was burned up and I replaced it at a cost
of well over $1,000 dollars. Nothing fixed.......I took it upon myself to buy
a repair manual. I read it and understood it. These guys don't even know how
their v-10 works. I told them to pull all the injectors and have then serviced.6
out of ten were leaking badly. There was the miss and the exhaust was getting
hot because the V-10 fires twice per cyl.the second time is when the exhaust
is open to burn excess fuel.So with leaking injectors it fires and throws flame
out the exhaust into the Muffler and cad converter. I had to troubleshoot my
own vehicle because the service dept knows next to nothing about my truck.Then
I had to bring it in for a recall because the front shock towers were weak.
The guy welding in the support brackets is supposed to be a certified frame
welder. I stretch frame rails on class 8 trucks and am very good at it so I
know what needs to be done. When I saw the work I was mortified.The bracket
was never fitted properly and the weld looked like bird dropping. I asked about
the welders certification and found he was certified to weld BOXCARS for the
railroad back east and had no certification for what he was doing. I had to
have the west coast rep for Daimler-Chrysler come look at it. He wasn't impressed
either. I then found out he was the boyfriend of the female service writer who
was totally rude and had no Idea what she was doing either. I think she was
hired for her looks as she was not knowledgeable about anything and didn't care
to know either. The salesmen were all liars and the way I was treated after
the sale made me want to see this place closed. This is the worst dealership
on earth!!!!!!!
The Plastic guides on the electric seats are breaking off. I went to get the
new guides and they wouldn't sell them to me. They insist I need a whole new
seat at $1000 which is $400 over what Chrysler sells them for. Even the parts
dept is a rip off.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid,
I bought a new dodge Durango from them what a mistake I made the really screwed
me they sold me a demo and I knew it was and that was OK but the problem started
when I went to the service department the sales department did not tell me that
the warranty started when they put the durango into demo service so I only got
the rest of the warr. I did not get the 7year 100,000 mile that they adver.
so I went to the salesmanager to ask for help and a guy named Celo came out
and told me to bad that there was nothing he could do I was stuck with it. I
tried to call his boss but no one would let me know who that was it was like
they were hiding the guy I also left mess. With Ron Tonkin at his office and
he has not returned my call so I will tell all me friends and family not to
go there for service or to buy anything.

Sales=Good, Service=Don't Know,
Made deal with service manager over the phone. When I arrived from Bend (4 hr
drive) deal and truck were just as I expected, with no funny business. Salespeople
were very courteous and even got me a better deal on a loan rate than I expected.
Sales people don't know HD trucks very well, which is not that surprising, but
I already knew what I wanted, so it didn't really matter. Only gripe is that
they were too cheap to fill the tank. Instead, I got $10 of fuel, which didn't
even get me home.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Don't Know,
Test Drove a 6 month old Dodge recently, Dealer ask me to make an offer, I did,
at my maximum budget. A Yes or no price. Then the Sales The Tonkin guys took
turns on me and my wife for 2-1/2 hours telling us we could not buy a Dodge
for that price. We did our homework on the inernet and could. The Dealer even
ask, if I was a US citizen, as I was returning from an over sea assignment and
my wife has an English accent. We were offering cash truck to be delivered in
two days. No they want a contract and terms now. I will never go in Tonkin again
I end up with a new 2001 4x4 Ram CTD 2500 Dodge from a guy name Jordan from
Mereced's dealer ship in Canada. He sells on Ebay through the internet. They
delivered it to Seattle I took delivery and I never look back. It been a great
truck, one warranty call and the Vancouver Washington fixed that morning without
an appointment. I love the Dodge and would buy through the internet again.

Buying our new truck was a very pleasant experience. Ken Ray at Tonkin Dodge
in Portland Oregon was very easy, informative and zero pressure. We did a factory
order from him and it went just as he explained, he kept us informed of when
and where the truck was built, shipped and arrived. He then did a lot of dealer
installed accessories, then a lot of non-dealer stuff that he had to send the
truck out for. We liked doing business with him and will do more with him in
the future. Hey, not all dealers are bad.
