Sales and Finance Departments were a pleasure to deal with, easy transaction on the purchase. The service department constantly tries to push unnecessary service items on you. Last time in for service on my vehicle is today, never again

Bought a used 2003 4x4 RAM 1500 Quad HEMI in August of 2004 from this dealership with a good experience. However, from the day we picked it up I noticed RR wheel spin whenever I was on wet, loose, icy, or snowy surfaces and pulled out. It was obvious there was no Trak-loc installed.
I never asked nor looked. On December 30th, I took it to Performance Driveline in Danielsville, PA. I've had a fair amount of work done by this shop and would exclusively suggest if you live in the area to go there for any non-warranty driveline work. The guy is fantastic!!! Anyway I went to him to check the rear as I had an intermittent, infrequent whine when pulling out. Imagine my surprise when he told me to come back and he would show me a mess. Upon arrival he had the cover off and had drained the rear. What remained were numerous chips and filings. The fluid was metallic! This truck is babied and has just over 30K on it. He suggested I immediately call the dealer ! and urge them to repair it under warranty. I called and was told to bring it right down, however, they could only look at it on Monday...3 days later. I dropped it off on Monday, they had some parts and would get the rest on Tuesday. Tuesday came and the parts shipment was delayed and did not arrive until late Tuesday night. I paid for an AVIS car on Monday, but turned it in on Tuesday as they furnished a 2006 Dodge van with just over 1K miles on it. By closing on Wednesday it was done...ALL NEW PARTS, including a new rear axle housing..the inside was so badly chewed up on the old one they wouldn't take any chances. I just wanted to say how happy my wife and I were for the excellent service we received. It's a complete turn-around from my last comment with the 2001's tranny. If they continue this satisfaction to their customers it will be great!
I still love the Dodge and will continue to buy them.

Round 3 started! Had to replace the transmission - had it 3 days. Told me the "new" replacement parts were bad after they installed them. Update: Light came on again - Code 1740 - May 10th, 2003. Now what? It's going back to them. Can they get it right this time?

Sales=Good, Service=Poor,
Nothing but praise for the salesman (Mike H.) and the sales manager, both having done an excellent job and follow-up. Service Dept. is another issue. Extremely disappointed with service on our truck. Explained in detail the problems(transmission)and after having it for 1/2 day, they phoned and said they could find nothing wrong. Had been there about a month and 1/2 before with the same problem and they stated the "second gear startoff" was likely due to a speck of dirt in a passage and suggested we spend almost $200 to have a "power flush". Told them this truck was purchased new from the a year before and I never heard of any vehicle needing a power flush in such a short period of time. I had previously owned a 1996 Intrepid and sold it with over 165,000 miles and not once was there a tranny problem. Took truck into dealership in mid Dec '02. they had truck for a day and was unable to find anything wrong. I suggested they check again, and after a better warmup (I never needed one to detect the problem)they said the trans needed a total rebuild. Scheduled it for 2 weeks later so they could get the parts. Took it in on a Monday at 5:45 am and they told me they had hoped to finish it in one day. Surprise, Surprise..my 80 year old father drove past at 1 pm and they had never even touched the truck. I called and raised hell - gave me little satisfaction and never mentioned they didn't work on it until I said something. Was originally told they would provide a loaner (rental) if over 8 hours, but reneged and only after threatening them that I would call the top man (Frank Gerenser) they said to come over at 3 PM to get the loaner. Arrived about 3:05 and no rental was there - waited 15 mins for the Enterprise rental - rental agent said, "Did they tell you it's a cargo van?" Nope - no mention of that but that's okay, I had owned an extended van in the past and felt comfortable driving one. Now let's see what tomorrow brings - it's supposed to be working on! We really like the truck, but we've been asking other Ram owners and are finding they too, have had similar problems. It's a shame the service department conducts itself this way. I do plan on a follow-up and a letter to Mr. Gerenser who I've known for about 8 years.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Don't Know,
I am in the process of buying 6 vans for my company and had the incredible misfortune of stopping at this lot. First I was approached by a sales person who so apparently did not know what he was doing. He can tell me about every new gizmo and sparkling gadget on the cars but ask him a question about a car's dependability or what kind of warranty is available or anything not having to do with electric door locks or the CD player and he got annoyed. Sure I'd like to let any dumb kid dazzle me with his knowledge of woofers and tweeters but I won't be leaving a huge downpayment on 6 vehicles with a moron. He runs to get someone else and after having 3 or 4 people walk past me, ignoring me as I try to ask a question, I end up face to face with the rudest, most base, uncourteous idiot at this particular circus. I don't even think he was a salesman. Whoever you are Glen, you let a $20,000 cash down payment walk right out the door. I will be contacting the dealerships owners. I'm pretty sure they won't be happy to hear my story. The only chance in hell you have of saving your butt is if there's more than one Glen on your lot. Please continue treating female customers like we're stupid and just looking for a shiny roadster that matches our purse. Some of own companies and will shop the nearest "any other dealership out there" in order to avoid your lots. Reputation is everything and yours is a sour smelly bag of turd that wafts ALL OVER TOWN. Sorry I could not complete part 2 of your survey--can't comment on vans I didn't buy because one of their "suits" lost a huge sale for the lot.
