My family has bought numerous vehicles from the previous Chrysler Dodge dealership
"Fred W Smith" for my whole life time. I bought my first vehicle there
in 1980. While not a cheap place, FWS had highly skilled service diagnostic
people & excellent service.
Fred W Smith's sold the dealership but not the name to "Speedcraft".
The entire service dept was replaced. I took my truck back to the dealership
because of falling fuel economy which they did not address beyond checking for
codes. (dropped from 17 mpg to 13). I wanted the 4wd center axle disconnect
checked as I'd heard them to fail, service manager insisted that the truck did
not have one (without looking). Due to my medical condition I wasn't able to
check for myself but have had it checked. It's OK but the truck does have one!
They could not even close the hood right, which blew open about a mile from
the dealership. Yes they repaired the hood, also dented the fender and damaged
the air filter box which they slid by me & was not repaired.
I want to say I paid $38,000 for this truck and I was not treated with respect
by Speedcraft. I like this truck a lot. Should have bought the 3:73 axle ratio.
