As the Director of Internet Sales for the Gary Mathews Automotive Group, I am intimately familiar with the history of the company. Mr. Mathews started with a used car lot 30 years ago and built the business to where today, the company sells 13 franchises in 6 different dealership locations. We have an excellent reputation in our local community, and can depend on most of our customers to purchase vehicles repeatedly from us.
However, along the way, some people were probably treated unprofessionally or maybe even unfairly. It's inevitable that a company with so many employees, and which handles so many transactions, should have some problems. When we discover a problem, management always responds. We do our best to see that the customer's concerns are addressed.

I bought my Jeep Liberty from another DaimlerChrysler dealer and had it serviced at this dealership while I lived in TN (about 2 1/2 years). I was always pleased with their customer service, convenience & speedy service. Gary Matthews is very approachable & accessible, should you need to speak to him. I would recommend this dealer to anyone.

Rich Johnson is the best and most honest salesman I ever met. My first exp. there with the used car sales team was not the greatest but Rich in the new cars sales changed my whole outlook. I will continue to use him and the dealership.

My experience has been good. Larry Alexander has been my salesman for a few years. He has done an outstanding job. However my last experience was with another salesman. He was terrible. Poor customer service skills, impatient and at times a little rude. He even called at one time asking me to expedite a 25,000 deal so he can get paid. Anyway there were some issues with him that I brought up to Larry Alexander (now new car sales manager) he took care of the problems in minutes were my salesman could not get it in in 5 weeks. I will purchase more vehicles from Gary Mathews however if I run into another poor money hungry salesman I will have to take my business elsewhere.

People, I previously wrote into this site about a experience I had with DODGE and Gary Matthews motors in Clarksville, TN. The one I wrote was the one about the $36,000.00 truck with the paint problems. I don't believe I gave them the full benefit of the doubt. Granted there are vehicles of every type from YUGO's to Ferrari's that have problems with them and some have a absolutely none. My problems were caused some by faults from the factory and some by persons in the paint shop. The dealer has since rectified the paint shop personnel problems and I am glad to say that Dodge has granted me a new 2003 to be built to my specifications at the same MSRP as mine and are transferring the VIN number of the new vehicle to the bank so that I will keep my same payments for the same timeframe that I have remaining on my 2002's loan. I only have to pay $410.00 for the mileage on my 02. Mr. Robert Streetman has done everything in his power to ensure that I was treated fairly and looked out for my best interests in mind. My appreciation for his outstanding support is clearly noted. Any mechanical related items that have come up Mrs. Kathy West has been likewise very adept in handling the few minor problems that have come about. All in all I am pleased with the outcome of the whole thing and I am glad the Gary Matthews staff was there to help me and stick up for me. I would deal with this dealership again and would encourage others to do the same. We all have to realize there problems with a great many things everyday, not just ours, and those things take time to correct and the staff at Gary Matthews did just that. They took there time to ensure the proper outcome was reached and they never gave up on trying. Thanks for all the hard work MR. Streetman and Mrs. West and all theGary Matthews staff. I am a soldier with the 101st airborne and I bought a new 2002 Ram for almost $36,000.00 and I have had to take it in I believe 8 times now. Roughneck 7's poor rating and the rest of this complaint have been updated by by his submission on 12 Nov 2002.
