MY 2001 $31,000.00 extended cab 4x4 was making a funny noise in the steering section of my truck. My husband took it to the service dept. to get it looked at. The guy in the service was to busy said don't have time for it today. My husband said can you just listen to it to see if its okay for my wife to drive. His reply don't have time. I know it was Friday but it was about 10:00am. All they would have had to say is were real busy can you bring it in Mon. or just listen to it. This is my second truck from them. I bought my baby brand new from them. So when my husband came back and said they didn't have time for me I called Mr. Gupton left a voice mail call me. Never heard from him even on Mon. My father had bought his new Dodge Truck from Regent Dodge in Madison Tennessee. His name is David Howell he said go see my guys. My husband did. They worked it right in. It was a coupler in my steering column and they fixed. Thank you Regent Dodge of Madison Tn! You know if Mr Gupton don't have time for me I guess I'll go where I count and not worry I'm trying to get out of here for the weekend Guptons service man.

I am a hearing impaired person, and as a result, I don't communicate verbally very well. I went to Guptons and was treated like a princess!! Mr. Lee was very nice to me. He was very patient trying to understand my questions and made sure he was looking at me (and I was looking at him) when he answered (I read lips). He was extremely helpful in helping me choose a vehicle that was right for me, then getting me a price that fit my budget. When I went back for service, he even came back to the service department and helped me communicate with the service person. Most people who are not hearing impaired seem intimidated, but Mr. Lee seemed very comfortable with helping me. I even asked him if he had a deaf relative!! He seemed like he worked with deaf people all the time. I really like my truck. It is a Dakota Quad Cab and my little boy likes riding in the back seat. I traded in a Nissan that just didn't have enough room for my son and my husband both. Thank you Mr. Lee for being so nice to me.
The people in service were real nice when I had my oil changed. Mr. Lee helped them to understand what I wanted.

I find that this dealership is open and honest in dealing with customers, both in sales and in the service department. It seems to me that those who have had problems expected Gupton Motors to be personally responsible for their problems even after the warranty was expired. I get all of my oil changes and any recalls done there and I think they are some of the most professional folks you could ever do business with. I would never change.

Our story is an incredibly long one. The short of it is that Gupton's service department is effectively incompetent. What began as a seemingly simple catalytic converter replacement turned into having both heads replaced/repaired. Gupton's employees presented conflicting responses to their recommended repairs and at one point accused me of lying when in fact they were lying. The most distressing part of my experience is that I now have an engine that is suspect where before I was confident in it.
DO NOT GO TO GUPTON'S for your vehicle repair needs! Go to Christian Brothers on US41.

Could it be possible to remove the comments of Tammy Mincey. (Note: comments are only removed at the request of the author, but dealership side of the story is always encouraged) I work at the dealership and recall that the reason that she was upset was because her engine needed to be replaced. The reason that her engine needed to be replaced was that the oil had not been changed in several thousand miles. The oil had solidified. Even if the engine had not been abused, the truck was clearly out of warranty and she refused to pay for any repairs. Mr. Gupton did everything he could to rectify the situation, but she was rude and belligerent. When it became clear that there was nothing he could do to satisfy her, he stopped trying. Just because someone is upset doesn't make them right. Our technicians are very well-trained and very professional. I have never seen one do anything dishonest.

I have bought over 200,000 dollars in vehicles from Chrysler. I have bought 105,000 dollars from Gupton Motors. I have a 2000 dodge durango 4.7 L. I have 80,000 miles and my motor has blew up. I have a 2002 ram 1500 and it is in the shop for steering problems. I talked to Mr. Gupton and he was rude he didn't what to hear anything I said his mind was made up. They want 8000.00 to fix my durango. I own a company and my other vehicles are work trucks with cummins diesel engines. My salesperson over the years has been good to me but service hasn't. My company is in business link thru chrysler but that not much help. I am going to tell everyone I know not to buy a chrysler product. I am going to the news media for help and I've contacted a attorney.

I took my 95 Cummins Ram Auto to Gupton for the throttle cable and linkage recall. A few months later one of the ball joints on the throttle linkage broke. It was plastic. I took it to Music City Dodge (closer to where it broke down) and had to buy a complete new linkage rod because the ball joints aren't sold separately. I got to thinking about it later and went back to Gupton and explained what had happened. We pulled the same kit from parts that was billed to the R.O. and supposedly installed for my recall and it had metal ball joints in the kit. I told them I would like for them to pay me back for the work I had to have done at Music City Dodge and was told that Music City Dodge should have warrantied it as a "failed recall repair". The bottom line is that they did not perform the recall correctly, so who's to say that they actually performed the valve adjustment, transmission service, or numerous oil changes that I supposedly had them perform? The only way I'll ever know is to pay someone else to do it again or wait for another failure.
