I took my 2003 Dodge Ram Diesel into Archer Dodge service department on 9/12/07
due to a coolant leak (88,000 miles). The service department indicated that
the repair would cost approximately $2200.00. The service manager indicated
that the water pump failed due to it overheating because the fan clutch failed.
I declined to have it repaired and was charged $92.50 for the insult and took
my truck to a automotive shop I have been dealing with for over 25 years (all
mechanics are ASE certified). My mechanic indicated that the fan clutch and
water pump were not connected and was not the reason for failure. I was charged
$531.82 for the repair of the water pump that SHOULD have been covered under
Dodge's 100K warranty. Spoke to the owner of the dealership and he did not provided
any monetary relief. He offered an oil change for my trouble but since I already
paid $92.00 I thought that was a little silly.

We located this dealership through the internet. We made a 9am appointment to
test drive a Ram 1500. When we got there, the Internet Sales Manager hadn't
arrived yet, the other salesmen seemed embarrassed that he wasn't there yet,
so another sales person showed us around. The internet manager arrived about
45 minutes later. We were looking for an 04' Ram 1500 with a Hemi, they didn't
have any left on the lot. The internet sales person said the 04'1500 with Hemi's
were selling fast and there was only like 3 left in the state of Texas. (We
later learned that Gulfgate Dodge had like 7 or 8 on their lot)
We didn't buy a truck from them.

For the used truck I bought they came down quickly on the price from what was
on the sticker and stuck with it. The salesman was polite, but tried a little
too hard to make a sale. I guess that could be a plus. He drove me to off-site
garage where used vehicles are serviced to show me a vehicle. After getting
the run around at Wiesner in Rosenberg I ended up buying a vehicle from Archer.
I did not have a vehicle serviced at Archer (Wiesner voided the warranty for
me - Thanks Wienser), but they took the time to help me solve the problem another
way.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Don't Know,
I went to the dealership after talking to a salesperson. On the phone he told
me that they had exactly what I wanted in stock. When I got there "they just
sold it". So then I was drug around the dealership for an hour looking at different
trucks that I did not want. When I finally decided on one that I could live
with the price was outrageous. I left that evening and the next day a sales
manager (Fred DelaGarza) called me to try and get me to come back in. After
I told him I did not appreciate being lied to in the first place he became very
rude and said they did not lie. It's funny how they sold in an hour after I
got off the phone with the guy. He also told me that I would not find a better
deal anywhere in Houston and no one would finance me. To prove him wrong I went
to another dealer close by, found what I wanted and got a good deal. Archer
needs to learn customer service techniques!!
