In Nov.03, was en route to TX from IN.to visit friends, had trouble with my 02 throttle,called Elders
and was told to bring truck right in, scanned and checked system at no charge, Shawn explained
what happened and was on my way. May 04 went to TX from IN again, went to Elders to purchase
new truck, they had one near what I was looking for, they added the options I wanted (fog lights
and exhaust brake) and had truck by that afternoon on Memorial weekend friday!

I've have had dealings with the used trucks department twice. Bought in June 03 and will purchase again January 04

We had problems with our truck that we got from them. When they took a look at the truck they said it would be x amount of money to fix it and told us the problem. A week later when we went to get the truck we paid more than what was said. A certified master mechanic told us that when they were fixing the truck's problem that the mechanic knocked something else and I was charged the amount for them to fix their own mistake. It took two weeks before we could get our truck out of the shop due to 400 more dollars being added onto the total cost.

they say all good to your face and tell you to just sign. And of course we trusted and did and got shafted.  BIG TIME!!!  The service dept. don't even bother,  they are incompetent, and could care less about you or your vehicle.  Don't waste your time.  If you do purchase from Elders, you were warned.

My truck has been in the shop 8 times in 49k miles. The service mgr. told me that having problems that required service every 7k miles was normal. Parts failure: Transfer pump, overflow valve, thermostat, rear axle seal, Transmission rebuilt, master cylinder, fuel tank sensor, I'm waiting to see what's next. The truck is currently pulling to the left, service denied that there is a problem, despite me having to hold on to the steering to prevent changing lanes when braking. Do not buy from or have service done at Elder Chrysler in Athens, TX.

Very honest and up front sales people. They had exactly what was advertised in the newspaper for the same price. It was a very good experience in buying. I have not used the service department yet.
