Sales=Good, Service=Poor, Parts=Poor, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes, Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=Yes,
I was a first time Dodge truck buyer here at this dealership as well as I bring parts to this dealer as well as many others on a daily route I run five days a week. I told them I will be using this truck for this route and that it would be in high exposure in all major dealerships taking parts to them all. Salesman and his manager was great!!!
As many others with the new 6.7 cummins, I had CEL right from the start and took the truck in for service, me being in and around all the major dealers on my route(Dodge,Ford,Chev) I understand and have followed along with much of all the issues all engine manufactures face with the new technology.
I even have worked for a major engine builder at one time for outboard engines for boats and know quite a bit on how things work. Frontier Dodge was told this and I told them it would also be best to have my truck in and out asap when service was going to be needed as I would face all sorts of questions from others in the public when I was running my route pulling the trailer with my backup truck. Not to mention I was trying to not only make a living with the new truck, but make sure all my dealers on my route get their daily parts as soon as possible...
My first and last dealings with this dealership's service department was when I asked what codes had showed up setting the CEL, so as I could record them in my log book I keep with the truck and the service writer who is the head writer of the dealership told me that these didn't have numbers... I told him sure they do, they all do in order to be able to know what they are and keep up with them without all the reading each time and it safes time and space on the ECM/PCM/'s
He said then that these didn't. I just blew him off and went in to see the service manager which at the time was whom was checking me out anyway, and I asked him. He gave me the biggest bunch of BS about everything on this subject, that if I had not known the truth about all this, I would have believed these two guys didn't know anything about the product. They just flat out right lied to me about my truck and everything about all this new technology.
I left there and went straight to my salesman and told him as to what just happened, he went to his manager with this and I told them I would leave this to them to resolve this as I respected the dealership so far and I didn't understand why those guys in service felt they had to lie to me, but that I knew it was a big misunderstanding. None of this was ever resolved, and I have never had my truck back in for service there. Its been a huge disappointment for the first time Dodge buyer that I was, with a new truck that I still just love. This dealer was my biggest mistake I made with buying the Dodge truck, but they was not the only dealer I can get the service done at, it was just the one I had hoped to...
I bought this truck on 3-28-07 and since then, as of now 10-13-07 I have 65200 miles...

I would never recommend this dealership to anyone! They are extremely high-pressure. They are crooked and give the auto industry a bad name. I believe that the positive comments on this page are more than likely from those who work for them. No one in their right mind who has bought a vehicle from them would have a positive experience to talk about. They also own all the dodge-chrysler dealers in Amarillo, so buyers beware!!! They're sneaky and slick, and waiting to take advantage of you!!!

Sales=Poor, Service=Fair, Parts=Don't Know, bought there=Yes, scv_there=No, Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=No,
I purchased a 2004 Used Jeep Liberty from Frontier Dodge. We bought the vehicle without a problem, however, about two weeks after we took the vehicle home we were contacted by Frontier Dodge to pick up the new license plates. When we got there on a Saturday, no one knew what we were talking about. Our plates weren't there and they didn't know where they were. When asked to speak with a manager, the sales rep denied my request, simply offering to put seven dollars in gas for the inconvenience and to call on Monday since the lady that took care of license plates wasn't there.
We called Monday and was told by the lady who takes care of plates that the sales rep who sold us the car didn't fill out a green certificate to order new plates. We were advised to bring in the vehicle again so they could then fill out a green certificate. When we got to the service department, where we were told to go, the service people seemed annoyed by our request to get a green certificate. Overall, they displayed bad customer service by being short and rude when asked questions. When they were done, they told us to expect the license plates in two weeks and that they would contact us as soon as they were in. I specifically asked them to call us asap because the temporary license plate they reissued would soon expire. No one called, so assuming responsibility, I called and frustrated asked to speak with the general manager to ask him/her about the situation. However, again I was denied to speak with him and instead spoke with his secretary who told me the plates were in and to come in to pick them up. It seems that they do all they can to sell a car, but after you sign the contract, they just don't care about the customer. I felt they had many times to make up for their mistake, but failed every time. Overall, this experience has caused me much frustration, and overshadows the entire experience with Frontier Dodge as horrible.

I asked the salesperson within 15min. into our search if he had a truck in my price range. He showed me some that he said he could try to get the manager to come down on, and then he showed me one that he guaranteed that he could get in my price range. I asked him how long the process would take and he said less than 30 min. Over 4 hours later we were still haggling over the price. I finally said, "I am tired and I am leaving!" The salesman stood behind my car so I could not leave. I told him if he could not get me the truck I wanted for the price I wanted to pay I was not interested. He pulls that "I am the hero approach" and said that he was going to the VP to get the deal approved. He got the deal approved, but by the time everything was said and done it was too late to get the truck cleaned as was promised and I live out of town. The sales manager said, "With the amount of money you saved, you could have it cleaned better than what the dealer would do". Needless to say, 5 hours later I got what I should have had in 30 min. with the exception of the detail.

I've had several experiences with this dealership and can tell the readers of this forum that the glowing praise reports that appear here were almost certainly submitted by managers or employees of the dealership.
In my experience the sales department employs ruthless managers and untrained young salesmen who know little or nothing about the products but will follow orders. They abuse the customers with high-pressure, don't-let-them-walk techniques that most auto shoppers won't tolerate.
The service department is simply not very helpful. They are not knowledgeable of Dodge-Cummins trucks and factory-authorized accessories. The service department will charge outrageous prices if you give them the opportunity. I comparison shopped one of their repair price quotes recently and found their price grossly inflated.
Frontier Dodge is a dealership to be avoided under normal circumstances. There are simply too many honest, friendly dealerships around that will do their best to earn your business with honest and friendly attitudes and competent service.
My advice is: take your money and your car or truck somewhere else!

Sales=Avoid, Service=Fair, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
I worked in new vehicle sales at Frontier for a few years and can tell you that it is not a pleasant place to work at or to purchase a vehicle from. Yes, I too got taken on the purchase of a car from them, even though I worked there. The problem with Frontier's high pressure selling is that it starts at the very, VERY top...the owner. He pressures his managers to make the most possible gross (dealership profit) and not to let anyone leave, and in turn the managers hammer down on the sales staff and then that is then released onto the customer. His type of pressure is the type that makes the management positions a revolving door along with the salesmen. I saw at least 25 different managers come through the short time I was there. Those who quit just got tired of being treated like dogs...called names, threatened, talked down to, and just plain treated with absolutely no respect. I'm doing better now selling cars elsewhere. I just got tired of treating customers the way Frontier did. I hope Frontier gets what's coming to them...a loss of business by anyone looking to buy a vehicle and then no business. Frontier will learn their lesson!!!

After reading some of the previous comments, I noticed one in particular...from Ben Jenkins, the lying, cocky, arrogant truck manager at frontier. I bet he hasn't bought a thing from frontier. Why should he? Their high pressure, high gross, "buy right now" tactics just drive people away and give the dealership a bad name and reputation. I had to threaten to get up and walk out just to get a price. "we don't want to give a price unless we know that you are ready to buy" How do I know if I want to buy anything if I don't know the price. There are hundreds of dodge dealers in the state I could go to. Just like anything else I want a low price, I already know how great the truck is. If you are looking for a low or no pressure, time saving buying experience, DO NOT go to frontier!!! DO NOT TRUST FRONTIER OR ANY OF THEIR MANAGEMENT!!!

I bought a new ram 1500 at this dealership in February, loved the service I received from the sales department. They were quick and honest, the sales associate knew his product like he built it himself, I mean this guy was a whiz. They must have a excellent guy running this store because his leadership shows from the guys who sold me the truck to their manager who helped me, and the quality of these guys shows a big reflection on the guy at the to of the chain. I will purchase every thing I drive in the future from frontier dodge and have all my friends and family do the same.

Sales=Excellent, Service=Excellent,
I had nothing but honest helpful customer service from this place. If you have to go through the car buying process make it easy on your self and go to Frontier Dodge. The sales department was quick and easy to deal with, the finance department gave me a list full of options, and it was as quick and painless as the sales department. I must give two thumbs up to Quent Pendleton, he is a guy who knows his stuff. Thank you Frontier Dodge, thank you.

Sales=Excellent, Service=Excellent,
I have bought 4 cars in my life. The first one was a nightmare. On the second a friend suggested that I go to Frontier Dodge. I was treated very well and they appreciated the fact that I was their customer. Every car that I have purchased since has been from these guys and every car that my family has purchased has been from Frontier Dodge. They have always taken very good care of us and I can't wait for number 5. It will be a 5.7 Hemi Quad Cab. I recommend this dealership to anyone in need of a new car.
People should level with a professional sales person and ask for their help. Be honest and get the information for them and then make a decision. Putting up fronts only slows down the process and frustrates everyone involved. I have become good friends with the guys at the dealership and have watched the way some people behave. I believe they truly want to help people and make their experience as good as possible. They have succeeded with me, my parents, my grandmother, and my sister.

I went to Frontier twice to check out a used and new Turbo Diesel. I already had secured a good deal on a 98 CTD at another place, but they had a nice 99 on the lot I liked. What a complete waste of time to deal with these idjits. They basically know nothing about CTD's...their idea of sales is a quick test drive, then get you in their little booth and try the "good salesman, bad sales manager" approach. The salesman sets it up that he's your great buddy and because you're now such great friends, he will "try" to talk the mean old sales manager down...They try to keep you waiting for literally hours in their crappy showroom until you give up..well, my answer after 15 minutes wasted was just to walk out..then here comes the sales manager trying to get me back inside. They didn't want to give me a straight price for the pickup on a cash deal, and sure as sin won't give you an outright price for a trade-in... just a bunch of monthly payment this & difference that... what a bunch of slimeballs....Their parts department didn't even have a thermostat in stock for the CTD..

comments deleted by request from the person submitting them - along the lines of manipulative, greedy, pushy, idiot salesmen; couldn't answer the most basic questions about the pickup.

I live within one mile of Frontier Dodge but knew their reputation for sleeze. I had already made a tentative deal at another dealership in another town 300 miles distant but decided I had little but time to lose if I gave them the opportunity. I went in and explained that I already had a deal but I'd give them one opportunity. They failed. The salesperson, a 20 year old airhead female who didn't know what a Dodge-Cummins was wasted my time then turned me over to a "floor manager" who wasted more time then the sales manager tried to twist my arm to buy an in-stock unit which I didn't want. This is the stereotypical sleezy car dealership, that uses untrained and unprofessional sales staff to wear down a prospect then turn him or her over to a sales manager to put pressure on. "Lie, cheat, and steal" should be their motto. Frontier is owned by the same corporation that owns Chrysler-Dodge stores in Amarillo, Plainview, Slaton, and two in Lubbock. My recommendation: Buy elsewhere.

Sales=Poor, Service=Avoid,
I have a 1999 Cummins, bought new from Hoyte Dodge in Sherman. Took my truck in to have the auto transmission checked due to poor shifting. They told me it was fixed, but now that I am back home in Dallas area the transmission is again giving me problems. I also had a 1992 Cummins of which I took Frontier to have the injectors/pump and timing adjusted. They did not even touch them, my diesel mechanic who installed my Banks system told me the timing was a little low and the manifold gasket had not been removed to inspect the injectors. They are crooked operation!!!!

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Avoid,
I've been to this dealership three times, and nothing was ever fixed. The only answer I ever got is that the problem is normal operation and all of them do that.

Dealership Rating:
Good sales department, good service
Fair sales, fair service
Conflicting or not enough information
Poor Service or Poor Sales Department
Avoid like the plague!!
Don't Know or No Experience
