Ladies, beware. This dealership does not know how to deal with women. I have
had 3 bad experiences with them when attempting to buy a car. The first time
I went to another dealer, the second time I wrote them a letter to make the
owners aware of my experiences, and the third time I just told them never mind
I already bought somewhere else. First experience - a salesman called me "babe",
and said when I was "ready to buy a car, bring your husband back with you".
how disrespectful can you be? The second time my 19 year old son was with me
and the salesman ran up to him to shake his hand and ask him what he could help
him with (did not acknowledge I was standing there) my son told him "I
think my Mom wants to buy a car". Third time they did not have the Durango
I was looking for, however I located one at another dealership, in another county.
When I called and left messages to let the salesman I had located what I was
looking for (so he could realize the benefit of the sale) he did not return
my calls. My brother in law had just bought a truck from the salesman I was
dealing with, and I asked for him due to the satisfactory transaction he had
had with this person. I bought the vehicle from another dealer. When I called
to let the salesman know I had purchased a vehicle at another dealership, he
did not give me an opportunity to state the reason for my call, rather he started
off the conversation with "I can't find the Durango you want, it is just
not anywhere in the state". Why, you ask would I keep going back? They
are local and I was brought up to believe that you patronize locally first.
Keep the tax dollars at home. Also I have always had good service when I have
taken my vehicles to the service department. Since my experiences I have spoken
to other women who say they have had the same treatment and will not patronize
that dealership anymore. I will go out of town to find friendly folks to give
my money to. They have not earned the right to sell an automobile to me. I will
never look for another car at this dealership again!

Sales=Excellent, Service=Excellent,
I bought my 2002 Tarus at Gene Hamon Ford/Chrysler in June 2002 and was treated
like a real person. After shopping at the Houston dealers where after four or
five dealers you feel like they think I'm some kind of fool. At Gene Hamon the
sales person Larry was able to not only answer every question with out having
to look it up, he was honest about every question I had in finance and delivery.
My dealings with Gene Hamon service dept go back to 1998. I have always been
treated with respect and courteously. Each time the repair was explained in
detail, and I have never had to go in twice for the same repair. The person
in the first feedback must have the wrong dealership. The service advisor, Dan
told me the tech's are all certified, 2 ford senior masters, 4 of the are gold
certified with Chrysler. They hold both Ford's Blue Oval Award, and Chrysler
Five Star awards for excellence. I am not advertising for them, but after reading
that first feed back I just had to say some thing. He is either and idiot or
he has the wrong place.

Sales=Good, Service=Avoid,
I took my 99 1500 Q/Cab in at 6K miles for a noise in the front suspension.
This was Oct.99. Cause was listed as "out of position springs?" My paperwork
however had another VIN # and custom name on the paper work, correct mileage,
wrong color, long story short, paper work was all messed up. Funny thing was,
the paper work said they R&R the springs but at the bottom it said "CND not
Duplicate noise". Noise continued to get worse, took back in June 2000, did
a lube front end, I asked to see what they did (since I do that myself) they
put spots of grease on the stops (I told them that was not the problem and the
service man never listen to what I told him) Was told it makes noise driving
straight and when turning into a parking lot it snaps. (Not against the stops!)I
had asked to take someone for a ride when I brought it in, but they didn't have
time?! I returned it 2 day later and had the Service Manager get a tech. to
ride with me. He had no idea what it was, I told him that I thought it was a
shock. They return my vehicle NOT Fixed again. Again I took it back and this
time they ordered a set of shocks. Guess what? Now the noise is gone. The way
I see it, they think the customer is stupid and they don't listen to what you
tell them. I have driven Mopars since the mid 60's and have restored several
so I hate being treated like I have no idea what I'm talking about. Bottom line,
there is no service at Hamon's.
