I have my Dodge Ram Van serviced at Thompson's. The managers know what they're
doing and fix what's broken. They charge you a reasonable (not small!)amount.
In short, it's all you could ask from a dealership service department.
My Dodge Ram Van has been a great family camping vehicle for long trips. I had
to get a new engine, as I wore the first one out. Thompson's found me a used
engine from a truck, and put it in for a reasonable charge. They have fixed
other problems, and I go to them for maintenance as well. You can't replace
trust, and I know who I'm dealing with at Thompson's service department.

On Sunday, July 18, 9pm, I was traveling home with my family, from vacation
when my grand voyager started having problems. I managed to get a rental (that's
another story) that night, and got home, leaving my broken van at the Radford
Inn. Monday morning I talked to Nathan at your dealership. He was great. He
told me I didn't have to come there if I had the VIN number, he could make a
key, pick it up and check it out for me. This was great news, since I live 5
hours away. He called a few hours later with great news that it was only a sensor,
I was thinking transmission.
Nathan is a great representative of your company. He was very honest and helpful.
If I go with a Chrysler or Dodge when I'm ready to trade, I'll be heading your
way because of the dealings I had with your dealership.

Avoid Like the Plague, wouldn't honor a recalled part that had a lifetime warranty.
They wanted to fix a bunch of things that weren't covered (and that weren't
broken), and then they said if that didn't fix the problem, then they would
fix the "lifetime warranty" part. I ended up going to Dominion Dodge
in Salem, VA and they replaced the warrantied part and all is well and I'm happy.

Excellent dealership. I actually paid less here than another "mega
dealer" wanted. Thompson will play the deal straight - make sure when you
are comparing prices that other dealers have not added hidden extras into the
sales contract. With Thompson Chrysler you WILL get a knowledgeable sales force
and excellent service! The parts department has always been helpful at finding
obscure part numbers and getting the parts in a reasonable time. FWIW: Thompson
does warranty service on many of the vehicles sold at other dealerships, and
has resolved difficult problems for people that other dealerships could not
help. An archived RTML mail list thread from
1997 reflects the service experiences that are sometimes reported by Thompson
customers.
