This dealership was always able to schedule maintenance at times convenient
to me, always found, diagnosed and fixed problems with the truck (air conditioning
and steering) properly, and always delivered the truck back to me on time or
early. The service and parts area is hospital-clean and the personnel are friendly
and business-like. Service personnel are obviously well-trained and proud of
the work they do. This dealership always washed my truck for me when I had it
serviced there. I would happily take my truck to Tysinger for service, and would
certainly consider buying a Dodge truck or Mercedes-Benz from Tysinger.
I wish Cummins had built the entire truck!

Sales=Excellent, Service=Poor,
I will give the sales department great credit for pricing and getting me exactly
what I wanted. They had to get my truck brought in from another state, but I
got what I asked for. I got the truck in August 2001, and a few months later
when it got cold, the problems started. Biggest thing was the cold engine hesitation.
When starting up on a cold engine, driving the truck was an unpleasant experience
until the motor got warm. Also, the parking brake light would not stop flashing
until the truck warmed up. Very annoying stuff, but due to my job requiring
6-7 day workweeks, I had to wait to take it in. Warm weather rolled back around
and the pinstripe on the driver's side warped. In August 2002, I had time off
due to surgery so I took the truck in to get everything fixed. NOTHING got fixed.
With the engine problem, I was told that it could not be properly diagnosed
because I had installed a 180* thermostat. I couldn't understand that because
by the time the engine got warm, the hesitation was gone. The brake light didn't
act up because it was summertime, so for that I was told "just make sure you
pull the brake release lever all the way out." Boy, if I was that stupid, how
on earth did I ever get my license? I was told that a pinstripe was ordered,
they'd have in a couple weeks and call back. Okay, I figure I'll change back
to a 195* thermostat and wait for cold weather, when it acts up the most. I
return the day after Thanksgiving 2002, a nice cold morning, and drop off the
truck before they open up, so it will show itself. This time they at least did
fix the parking brake light problem, by tightening the cable. My pinstripe "ordered"
back in August still never showed up, so that was "ordered" again and would
be in in a week or so. As for the cold engine hesitation, this time they outright
blamed it on my K&N cold air intake! Said "the truck is getting too much air."
WTF? So the next morning I stormed in, yelling and cussing up a storm. I brought
in my old stock airhat and put it back on myself and told them now it's getting
the right amount of air, so tell me why it's still acting up. The technician
actually tested it this time and found a bad IAC motor. They replaced that and
gave it back to me. Truck ran better, but on cold mornings, it still hesitated
badly. About 2 weeks later I stumble upon dodgeram.info and see the TSB's listed
and see the exact problem I was having and how to fix it (PCM flash). Now if
I can find this information, how come the service department can't? I forwarded
them the page along with a nasty email threatening to take this up with Chrysler
on a corporate level, and wouldn't you know two days later I had my PCM flashed,
and the problem is gone? It sucks that I had to find the solution to my truck's
problem when that's the service department's job. But, after a year of flashing
brake lights and rough starts, the truck is finally driving the way it should
have when it was new. ...but I STILL haven't gotten my pinstripe yet.

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Excellent,
They divert CTD work to a guy who owns one. Dale has worked on mine whenever
I've brought it in. That hasn't been much, though, as I do just about everything
myself. They've done valve lash adjustment and the throttle cable TSB. Both
were done well and quickly. I have just stayed in the customer lounge for an
hour or two each time. Both times I had some "other" questions about things,
and Dale would come over and spend time talking them over with me. Don't know
about sales. Could get interesting with the Mercedes possibilities, huh? Anything
that they can't handle could probably be taken care of very easily at Cummins
Atlantic in Chesapeake, VA (maybe 1/2 hour away).
