Do not buy a vehicle from this dealer unless you expect no service once the
sale is complete. When I first bought the vehicle it had some gashes in the
dashboard, I was told it would be fixed and they would order the part, wait
time approx. 3 days, it took over three weeks and they never once called to
tell me it would take longer than they told me, come to find out it took so
long because they never ordered the dash. Along with that I had ordered some
rear mudflaps for my vehicle and told them I would like them sent back with
my van so I could personally install them, when my wife took the vehicle in
for the dash they also installed the mudflaps and then tried to strong arm her
into paying for the installation. I talked to the manager after all this letting
him know how rude his staff was(almost brought my wife to tears) and he told
me they were shorthanded and that was the problem?? Anyway I was told he would
take care of it, never heard back. Now two days ago my wife and two small children
are driving through the mountains of west virginia and she accidentally locks
her keys in the van. We purchased the easy care plan which has lockout protection,
all we ever received was the little pamphlet with the phone number on it, and
that is in the glove box.
She calls me and I find a dodge 1-800 number to call and get help. They say
they no nothing about Easy Care but they will send a locksmith for $65. The
locksmith arrives and bills her $50. Nice profit for Dodge. The next day we
call Whitten Brothers and ask them about getting reimbursed, the man who sold
us the plan tells my wife she should of had the number in her purse/wallet and
there is nothing he can do for her, nice customer service. I highly recommend
to anyone in this area, do not buy from Whitten Bros. there idea of customer
satisfaction is a joke.

Whitten Bros in Petersburg was great! This is our 2nd vehicle we have purchased
there within the past 3 years and will definitely go back when we are ready
to buy again. The salesman made us feel at home and we felt like he was honest
and that they really cared about our needs. This is really saying something
since I work for GM and my husband at a Ford Dealership but we really love our
Dodge vehicles!

I feel this dealership is professional and very honest. This dealership makes
things simple not a lot of "mumbo-jumbo" that you can't understand.
I enjoyed purchasing my car from them . I am looking forward to purchase the
new 300c from them !!!!

Sales=Good, Service=Avoid, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
This is actually a two-part evaluation. When I bought my 99 2500, the dealership
was called Triangle Dodge. At that time, my father had just ordered a 2000 2500
V-10 and the salesman was also very helpful in my decision on purchasing a Dodge
truck. Shortly after buying my truck, I had only a few minor things that needed
attention. The steering wheel was not straight, the rear quad-cab door needed
alignment and a parking lens kept getting moisture in it. All of these issues
where taken care of with no problem. Since then, the truck has been flawless
until I noticed my fuel pressure was gradually dropping to the point that I
took the truck in to be tested. The truck was stumbling while towing our 5th
wheel through the mountains (fuel pressure dropping to 3.5psi). The dealership
had changed ownership, which brought in new staffing from their other Richmond
dealership. After the truck was tested and found to have 10psi @ idle and 7psi
while cranking, I was told that the truck was fine according to their testing
parameters. After many unreturned calls from the new service advisor who said
he would check for new info, I was told that they would not replace it and it
was not covered under warranty even if it was bad. After telling him that I
had seen two pumps changed out under warranty at two other dealerships and I
had also read of folks on the TDR having them replaced under the 5 year/100K
warranty. His reply was "I'm not going to go by information that you read on
the Internet". I personally feel that nobody there even check for information
because the pump has since been replaced under warranty by another dealership
who took 5 minutes to look it up in the computer and find that it was covered,
20 minutes to test the pump and 45 minutes to replace it. I now know where I
will buy my next truck from and I will also post my comments about that dealership
in the Survey.
In my opinion, I would recommend finding another dealership to purchase a vehicle
from. Having the best sales department in the world still will not outweigh
the problems of having an unsatisfactory service department.
