We went to Bremerton Dodge hoping to buy a quad cab. They didn't have any that
we wanted (1500, SLT 4x4,Silver) and after sitting in one, we thought the back
seating area wouldn't work well with a car seat anyways. Salesman introduced
us to a used mega cab that was equipped exactly they way we wanted. Unfortunately
it had been smoked in. So we left.
Last night we thought we would give the used truck a try. I have a trade in
that is a nice 2003 caravan and we are upside down in it. We knew this prior
to coming to your organization. I checked values on my trade in and what the
2006 mega cab was worth and was willing to give a reasonable offer.
Salesman asked for a credit application immediately. We complied. My wife's
credit score is a 700. She has perfect credit with Chrysler Credit. Mine is
less from a prior business closure. Otherwise my credit is good and I have bought
many cars since then. I didn't want to be on the credit as this would bring
the score down. Their sales manager, that we never met, ran my wife's credit
immediately! We hadn't even negotiated a deal. My wife has worked for same company
for over 9 years and I make over 100,000 a year. My wife has been O.K.'d at
Capitol One for up to 30,000 on a Dodge. Their sales manager sent the finance
manager in to us to explain how credit works as if we were some young school
kids. I am almost 50 years old! I told him that I get the credit thing. They
were concerned that my wife's income to debt was too high as she has a $900
mortgage. Again, I explained that the credit was not the issue and why are we
concentrating on that when we haven't even negotiated a deal!
I guess their sales manager wanted to impress us with his payments pencils.
Maybe even confuse us to pay too much? Too bad. We had already done our homework
and configured payments. Again, old school tactics.
So... their sales manager pencils a deal at full asking price for yours and
almost half of trade-in value for mine. I guess he was pissed that we wouldn't
talk credit. I was, of course, extremely insulted and should have just left
then except I liked the truck and Brian seemed like a great guy. So I countered
with an offer of wholesale for mine and yours expecting some reasonable offer
back. Their sales manager, again never acknowledging us at any time, countered
with a story of how they weren't going to lose money... showing a 1400 discount
and a 400 over allowance for mine. If I could believe him, which I don't, then
they are heavy in this truck and that's your business. The numbers just didn't
work for my budget on a used, smoked in, truck.
I will never try to purchase from their organization again. The old school tactics
are not something I need to deal with these days. I will most likely go back
to previous, long distance, dealer as the buying experience for my minivan was
very easy and pleasurable. I am upset that we now have an inquiry on our records
when a deal was never attained. We asked salesman to make sure that no other
inquiries will be made and we will dispute the one, as we were assured there
was only one, that you did for obvious reasons.
In my previous life.... I have been a successful salesman, finance manager,
sales manager, and general manager for car dealerships for over 15 years. Their
sales manager never got that we were qualified buyers and never even took 2
minutes to talk to us. There were only 1 or 2 customers on the lot if that.
Salesman was left holding the bag on incompetent pencils and old school tactics.
I felt bad for him... seems like a personable guy.

I bought an '02 Dodge Ram 2500 in '02. Took it in today because the Transmission
was slipping, 63000 miles on this truck. The mechanic told me it would cost
about 950.00 - to flush the transmission and to "grease the wiring for
the transmission" He also told me that none of this would be covered under
warranty. I told him no - this doesn't seem right and he told me to come get
my truck. I called Dodge Corporation and told them what was going on and to
check the warranty further. The mechanic told them that he would need to replace
the wiring harness and some components in the transmission - again none of this
would be covered. The cost would be about 1500.00. I tried to contact the Service
Manager - he would not take my calls or return them. I called Dodge Corporation
again to get the District Service Managers number and they will not give that
out - you have to get that number from the Service Manager at the dealership
- if they want to give it to you. I talked to them again about the problem and
now Bremerton Dodge is saying they have found more problems and the costs will
be 2000.00! - and I'll have to rent a car since they will have to keep my truck!
This is the last Dodge I'll ever buy!

I have gone in there to buy a dodge truck and they don't want to help you. They
avoid you and only want in your pocket book. I tell them what I want and they
won't even look for a truck. I paid cash and they treated me like crap. I called
Texas and got one the same day.

I bought a car which the sales person out & out lied about, (2002 Stratus)said
it was a demo car & when questioned about it, he told "I have know
way of knowing exactly where it came from or which Chrysler exec drove it. LIE!!!
They can look it up on the PC & it turned out to be a program car which
was owned by a rental car company. I have numerous problems with it, in which
they cannot find the problem. I had an on board computer in it for a month &
a half & still no solution. It chugs & dies. The owner says they won't
by it back because it is not an endangering condition. HA! What happens when
it dies on the freeway & we get hit by oncoming traffic?? I am so sick of
being raped by this dealership!

LIARS & THIEVES My wife and I recently purchased a 2002 Dodge
Stratus from Bremerton Dodge, what a mistake. The vehicle had 9,000 plus miles
on it when we purchased it. The sales person that handled our deal told us it
was previously a demo car. "driven by Chrysler execs and employees of dodge".
Turns out the vehicle was a RENTAL car, if we had known it was a rental we would
not have touched it with a ten foot pole. The vehicle has broken down on us
5 times now since 9,500 mile marker (we now have 14,000 miles on it . I've been
late to a business meeting and most recently nearly missed a flight out of Sea-Tac
airport. The vehicle has even died once on the freeway. I was so upset this last
time (Sunday 8:00 Am 06/29/03) that I parked the car right across their front
door to their showroom with some lemon signs in the windows and no keys. The
owner had to be called on Sunday, YES!!! so she could make the decision to have
it towed to an impound yard. Let me admit right here and now that I was parked
over not one but two handicapped parking spots, I've never parked in a handicapped
spot before I simple wanted to get someone's attention. The owner wanted to
teach me a lesson I'm sure. So rather than have me towed to the back service
department they took me to the yard. Bremerton Dodge were made fully aware of
the current situation before towing it. It was worth the 176.00 dollars it cost
me to get it out and Dodge will now have to fit the bill to get it back to their
shop today. Bremerton Dodge refuses to buy it back they as does Dodge. Bottom
line they take your money and run. As for their service department, real nice
guys, really tried to find out what was wrong with the Status but I have to
say they can't find the problem. LIARS AND THIEVES STAY AWAY

I paid 32000 for the 2002 Ram 3/4 ton Diesel, new, took it in to the dealership
for the 30000 adjustment. I had the whole 9 yards and paid 670.00 for all kinds
of adjustments, flushes and check. The following Sunday, ( 300 miles later)
I opened the hood and low and behold, the front of the engine, fan, hood, etc
etc are now covered with oil. I slid under the front of the rig, and there is
oil dripping off all sorts of hoses and tubes and housings and shrouds. Tomorrow,
May 12th 2003, I am returning the truck to the dealership at 0700 so that I
can be first in line to see what the outfit intends to do about it. My desire
is to have the engine compartment steam cleaned, the leak found and stopped
and the engine compartment detailed, (you see it was CLEAN) prior to the 670.00
I spent having them do the 30K check! I will report in detail to you how the
next chapter unfolds.
That was $32,000 of MY american dollars!

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Avoid,
my truck was at Bremerton Dodge for a no start condition. When I picked it up,
the oil pressure gauge read zero and the check engine light came on. The service
advisor played around with the sending unit for said gauge. He then sent me
on my way saying that he had seen a lot of sending unit failures recently and
that was the problem. The next morning, no pressure readings again, and all
of the main bearings disintegrated. When I talked to the service manager at
bremerton dodge he told me that it was not their fault, problem, or responsibility.
Thanks to that inept service writer, I had to drop $3500 on a new long block.
I would definitely recommend avoiding them like the plague.
