September 15, 03, I ordered a 2004 Dodge/Cummins HO Turbo Diesel 6-speed Ram
SLT Quadcab 3500 SRW LWB 4x2, and took delivery on it October 24,03. I got it
for $350 below Factory Wholesale Price (Invoice)with out any trouble. David
Ogle (Internet Sales Manager) was my salesman and he was very up front and helpful.
The rebate jumped from $1,000 to $2,500 in the interim and he honored it. Also,
because I own my own business, I got a coupon for $500 off the Jake brake Kit
which I prepaid with my truck order. After the truck came in, the price on the
Jake brake had jumped up $300, but they honored the lower price originally quoted,
and ate the difference. The only negative was when the finance manager tried
to stick me with $154.15 B&O Tax (Lithia corporate policy) by lumping it
in with the sales price of the truck, so I would have had to pay sales tax on
the B&O Tax as well (illegal to charge tax on a tax by the way) I went back
to my salesman, and complained. He took it off, saying it was optional! My salesman
kept me apprised of the status of my truck throughout the ordering, manufacturing,
and shipping process with regular phone calls to me. When the truck arrived,
he let me spend the whole afternoon inspecting it in the parking lot right outside
the showroom. I had a good experience overall, and would go back again.
I have less than 200 miles on it, and there is not one thing I do not love about
this truck. If I designed my own truck from scratch, this is exactly what I
would have come up with; Five Stars, TWo thumbs and both big toes up, way up!

The service department is poor. They don't listen well to customers. First visit:
I explained all symptoms and the timing of the symptoms to the service department.
Made an appointment. The vehicle was fixed in a day (speed sensor replaced)
and they indicated all is well - transmission checked out fine. It wasn't fine.
The hard shifting from 2nd to 1st when slowing down still occurred. In addition,
they indicated on the invoice that the transmission needed a flush. The transmission
already had a flush about 2,000 miles ago. Second visit about two weeks later
to point out that the transmission was still not correct: they treated me and
the vehicle like they never saw us before. I strongly discourage anyone to go
for service at Lithia in Renton. My vehicle is not a truck, but people should
know about Lithia in Renton just the same. (1999 Grand Caravan, AWD, 3.8L, 65,000

Sales=Poor, Service=Avoid, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
This was not a truck it was actually a Town and Country. There were major problems
between sales and service department. They did not talk to one another. They
were unhelpful, and did not listen well. They seemed to feel they could do what
they wanted. Sales said they would do something and did not. When they sent
you to service they would say they had not heard about anything sales said they
would do. It was awful. I had to go back 2 or 3 times to try to get my new vehicle
right, it never really was. They had no idea what was wrong. I guarantee I would
never go back. They had me in tears and my husband frustrated. It was the most
unpleasant experience I have ever had with an auto dealer.

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Avoid, bought there=No,
I made an appointment a week in advance to bringing in my 97 Dakota. I brought
it in a day ahead and was told that I had never made an appointment. They said
that they would take it anyway. I asked for the transmission fluid and the filter
to be changed, and my heater wasn't getting hot enough to suit me and I would
like it looked at. Before I was given a price I was told by the service person
that he recommended that I have it flushed also. I asked how much this would
cost and was told $139.95. I said that I thought that was robbery but, do it
any way. He also said that he would write down an even $200 on the work order
out of which any work done on the heater would be taken out. I reluctantly agreed
to that as well, and signed the work order with the stipulation that I would
be called before any further work was performed. I received a call the next
day from the service person saying that the truck needed to be backflushed (
which I had had done less than a year ago) and also that their was a slight
leak around the thermostat housing and that I should have the stat and gasket
replaced. I was told the cost would be $325.00. I said just for a filter and
fluid change and a thermostat. He said no, the $325 was just labor for the backflush
and changing the thermostat. I told him no just do the transmission service
and call me when it was done. H called back about an hour later and said it
was ready. The service person said it would be a total of $199.49, which I paid.
Not seeing the trans filter listed on the invoice, I asked the cashier if the
filter had been changed and he called the service person back. I asked again,
"Was the filter changed?" to which he answered "Yes it is included in the flush
service". I left the counter after getting my keys and crawled under my truck
only to find that the dirt on the transmission pan had not been disturbed. No
finger marks, no scratches on the pan bolts and no new gasket. I went back in,
asked to see the mechanic and was told no. I then asked to see the service manager
and was given to the assistant who proceeded to make excuses and told me that
if I wanted to have the filter changed also that it would have cost $189.95.
I asked to see the service manager again to which I was finally directed. I
explained everything again to him. Now he's making excuses for the employee
"making a mistake", at which point he said "There is no way I can satisfy you
on this, is there?" To which I answered no and walked out. I'll never by a vehicle
from Dodge ever again. I went to this dealer because the dealer that I bought
the truck from TOM MATSON DODGE in Auburn had crappy service They never got
anything done on time. I can only believe that this is typical of all the dodge
dealers after having been burned by these two. This is why the Saturn Dealers
have such good reputations. I just bought my second Saturn. I think I'll sell
this Dodge and buy a third.
