While on a trip I had the Fan clutch go out on my 2003 Dodge Ram 3500. I called the dealership and told them that the fan clutch had gone out and needed to be replaced. I took the truck in the following Monday and they called me on Wednesday and said it was ready to pick up. When I picked it up the invoice stated that they had replaced the transmission clutch. When I asked them why they had replaced the transmission clutch and not the fan clutch they said that I had asked for a transmission clutch. I told them the fan clutch was out, they agreed and replaced the fan clutch also. There was nothing wrong with my transmission clutch, but the entire event cost me over $1700.00 when the only thing that was wrong was that the fan clutch went out ( about $500 to repair). They refused to negotiate with me over the cost even tho they did work that was unnecessary.
I wish I had found this site before I bought a pick up from this dealership. They are a joke. Terrible service and zero customer service. I will never recommend them and am currently buying my next new truck from a dealership in Idaho.

Front Axle Seized up and blew the transfer case... Had to bring to Mike Olsen because I was out of town. They got the truck on Mon about 5 pm. Didn't even look at it until Wed. Found out they needed to replace the front axle and rebuild the transfer case. Initially said would be done Thursday at the latest, wasn't finished until Monday. Picked up the truck then the 4 wheel light lock light came on for no reason. Took back the next day, they passed the buck and told me to take to my local dealer. 4 months later took into local dealer they found that the Axle boot was damaged when Mike Olsen installed. Initially said wouldn't be covered under warranty. Had to talk with Service manager he was claming that the part was defective. Needless to say he called my local dealer and it was resolved. I guess the warranty did cover it. I live 3 hours away from this dealer, and would call to get status and they said they would call me back... Never did. I had to call them. The people there were incompetent.. With exception to the service manager he seemed to know what he was talking about. Avoid Mike Olsen Service Department... Don't know about the Sales.

I have a 1993 Dodge Ram, 3500. Its a Cummins Turbo Diesel, with a manual transmission. I had it for about 3 months, and then the speedometer quit working. I went down there, showed it to them, and they scheduled an appointment. When I picked up the truck after the "service" the speedometer still didn't work. I asked the service manager what normally happens when the speedometer quits working. He told me that its usually one of three things. I suggested he go through the process of elimination. How hard is that? Well, that got fixed, and then on to another set of problems. Every time I would make a turn, there would be a grinding noise from the front end. I took it down to them again, and had them look at it. They kept it for a week, and came up with nothing. They claim that they put it on their lift, and ran it. I had purchased the extended warranty on the truck, so keep in mind that every time I put the truck in their shop, it costs me $100.00. I took the truck home, and jacked the front end up, I spun the wheels around, only to discover that it was the wheel bearings. I replaced them, and all was well. Now for the rest. For quite a while, I noticed that when I'd park the truck, I would see fluid draining out underneath. Not very fast, but still. I took it to them, and they kept it 2 weeks, before I came back and picked it up to haul a camper to the other side of the mountains. They didn't know. I looked at it closer when I had time, and noticed that the boot where the transmission gear selector goes into the transmission had popped out, and fluid drained out the top. But, this was only after replacing the transmission twice, and a couple of other times to figure it out. I took it back, and showed the 'mechanic.' They replaced the boot, and I was off. I kept an eye on it, and it kept happening. I finally looked at a buddy of mine's 94 Dodge Ram 2500. The boot on his, has a pressure release on it, so that shouldn't happen. I had them order the part. 2 months later, the $15 .00 part came in, and they installed it. After they did so, I looked at it. I noticed that the tube that is supposed to come out of the boot, was missing. I had them put a tube on there and haven't had problems with it since. I did want to buy a newer dodge, and if I still do, I won't purchase it from them, nor will I take it to them for service. My 21 year old grandson would make 10 times the mechanic any of those morons would. I did call Chrysler Warranty Headquarters, and reported the problems to them. If Mike Olson ever had a chance of becoming 'Five Star Certified,' I hope they lose it. Never take your vehicle there for service. They will screw you royally.

This has to be the worst dealership around. I dealt with them for two weeks straight trying to get my truck fixed only to have them do nothing and telling me to get my F**king truck out of there dealership and don't come back. I posted my story on the internet under dodgesucks.org. Don't get me wrong, I love my truck but I hate Yakima Dodge! Be warned stay away from this dealership because I don't believe they have the expertise to work on Diesels even if the truck is under warranty. If you look up the definition of rude in the dictionary I believe you will find Mike Olson Dodge.
