Bought a 2000 Dodge Dakota SLT 4x4 on June 3, 2000. It had 17 miles on it. It had clunking noises during the test drive. Salesman said that whatever it was would be covered under warranty. Two weeks later, the brakes seemed to lock up on one side after having it in 4WD. Took it to the dealer. They went for a test drive but couldn't find anything wrong. Said the clunking was from spare tire not being tightened enough. One week later, the pumpkin sheared off the differential. The truck had 1,400 miles on it. We had had it for three weeks. Customer Care One refused to come to tow us out of the mud puddle at the bottom of the hill that we went down. Drove it back to the dealer (in 2WD) and pitched a fit. Mfg. sent an inspector out. His brilliant conclusion was that sand had gotten in the differential and exploded it. Forget about customer satisfaction notice No. 889 about the mounting bolts working loose, or another one about the steering knuckles needing to be replaced. Mfg. said the cause was driver abuse, and they wouldn't cover under warranty. While truck was at dealership, someone replaced the air filter with an older, gasoline & oil soaked filter. They also said that they didn't take anything off the truck, but the investigator shows pictures of the pinion gear and shaft laying in the bed when he got there. They didn't give me those parts back, and now because I don't have them, they say that I did something to them. I refused to make my first payment on the truck until it was fixed. Chrysler Financial sued me. My inept attorney allowed them to get $13,000 in judgments against me, even though they auctioned off the truck without giving me any notice of the sale. (It's a long story, and I won't bore you with details) Daimler Chrysler sucks as well as Tacoma Dodge and Chrysler Financial. I should have just tossed a match into the puddle, or delivered it to them through their show room window.

This dealership gave me the run around since the day I bought the truck. The day after I bought the truck I found that it was four quarts low on oil, and the heater wasn't working. I took the truck in to get checked out and they never gave me a good reason why it was low on oil, or even checked the engine for internal damage. Barely over a week later the engine seized as I was going down the interstate, nearly making me wreck into a guardrail. It was towed to Tacoma dodge and they said that somebody must have taken out the drain plug, now does that seem a little strange to you. I am not even from the area, so nobody would do this to that I know. I've tried customer service until it got to the point that they told me to get a lawyer and they wouldn't talk to me anymore. Stay as far away from this company as possible

I agree don't go to Tacoma Dodge for service I did get my Cummins form them because of the good trade-in I got for gasser Ram but when I comes to the service department they only have a interest for themselves like many other shops. I heard Tom Matson Dodge in Auburn is good.

If you want a bomb-friendly dealer, DO NOT go to Tacoma Dodge!! Don't ask me how I know... Also, if it makes any difference, the service reps don't seem to know their a$$ from 3rd base when it comes to the Cummins.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid,
Our truck has been in and out of the shop several times for erratic shifting since it had less than 3000 miles, they never test drove it, just lied to us and took our money blaming Chrysler for not having the proper upgrade for the computer software, with no solutions. I finally located Dave Fritz and he steered me to the Throttle Position Sensor, I installed the extremely overpriced sensor myself in less than 30 minutes, after over 100,000 miles of trouble. Other problems have been fuel gauges and the switch on the 4 wheel drive selector, and the door hinge limiter.

Sales=Good, Service=Avoid,
I took my truck in for the 3rd trans in 52,000 miles and they bent a rod and scratched the paint and it only took them 3 weeks. To boot, took the warranty company for the motor and then charged them to reseal the intake and a rear main. It goes in next month to repaint the cab. I thought I did everything right- local dealer extended warranty and I still get treated like shit.

Sales=Excellent, Service=Excellent,
I deal only with their fleet sales...John Reginnato. No BS. with him. All sales at invoice, less any rebates. Service treats me like they should. Be polite, professional and always, always document negative events in writing. ..usually you will win the battle.

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Avoid,
I brought my 94 Ram diesel in for a problem with brake pedal fade. On the first day they told me that they bled the brakes and adjusted the rear brakes. I had done that the day before and replaced the master cylinder. I told them that I didn't think that was the problem. Asked them to check it twice. They said they did and no problem 135 bucks. Took off work to pick up my truck and when I got there the truck had the same problem as before. Then I showed them the pedal fade away again and left it another day. When I called the next day, their answer is that brake fade was normal???? They didn't find the problem and tried to convince me all is hunky dory. They did offer to replace the vacuum pump for $1450.00 but didn't think that would help. DUDS DUDS WASTE OF TIME I did not pay them (they wanted $178 for their head scratchin')

Dealership Rating:
Good sales department, good service
Fair sales, fair service
Conflicting or not enough information
Poor Service or Poor Sales Department
Avoid like the plague!!
