Dan in parts is a liar. Told us that our minivan was under warranty and the
bearings and the tie rod end (that broke (69,000 mi.) but when we got there
the a**hole said he had never seen us before and would not help us. Stay away
from Nitro Dodge and the cheap products they sell.
Nitro Chrysler sucks and I hope they go out of business.

The sales department gave me a fair deal meeting my special request for a hitch
and bed liner. The service department took care of my problem with the drivetrain
while I waited and installed the hitch and bedliner. The parts department ordered
me a hitch plug calling me when it arrived. My experience was positive and will
buy again, especially due to the dealership being so close to my home in Saint
Albans. Bob and the staff get my vote.

Sales=Poor, Service=Avoid, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
On 6-26-02 I purchased a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo from the Nitro Dodge
Dealership. When I inquired about the price with Salesman Norman Pennington
I was told that the best he could do on the price was $19,000.00. A few moments
after that Roger Cordell, the head salesman walked up and when I ask him the
same question he told me he could give it to me he had $15,000.00 in the Jeep
and could let me have it for $17,000.00 and he will agree to fix the bumper
which was scuffed up on the L rear of the veh. and fix a small dent on the right
side of the veh. We agreed and I purchased the veh. Later that evening at approx.
11:30 at night I was driving the veh. on Rt. 152 in So. Point, Oh when it suddenly
lost power leaving me stranded on the side of the highway at night with my daughter
with no lights, etc. Valley Alternators checked out the veh., recharged the
battery, and stated that it had a bad alternator. I also noticed a grinding
noise when applying the brakes and a severe squealing noise. I took it back
to Nitro Dodge the next day and was told that they drove the veh. and nothing
was wrong with that alternator, and that the brakes were fine. That evening
coming home from work the veh. did the exact same thing and left me stranded
on MacCorkle Ave. in Charleston. The veh. was returned the next morning and
they insisted that it was the battery and installed a new battery. It happened
again the next day and was returned and they agreed to install a new alternator.
The brake issue was again discussed and they insisted that it was not the brakes
but the rotors that needed replaced which they did. Picked up the veh. that
evening drove approx 3 miles when I noticed a burning rubber smell. Pulled over
checked the veh and noticed smoke rolling out from the wheel wells, and brake
dust all over my wheels. Immediately I took it back and was informed that they
had sanded the brake pads and this was not uncommon. I have had this vehicle
in the shop numerous times over the brake issue and today has never been resolved.
Called again 3/7/03, spoke with Darrell in the shop and informed him that the
brakes had been checked by another mechanic and the veh. was unsafe to drive
and where the brakes were never fixed properly that the new rotor was now damaged
again. He said to bring the veh. in on 3/10/03 and he would replace the brakes.
When my boyfriend took the veh to the dealership that morning he spoke to Mike,
a salesman, Mike immediately started using fowl and unacceptable language and
cursed at him repeatedly and Mike told him that he didn't want to "F" with him,
that he wasn't giving anything for free to anybody and he wasn't going to do
an "F-ing" thing to that jeep. When I was told of this I immediately called
the mech. to inquire about this and was told that he didn't agree with the way
Mike handled the situation in dealing with the customer however his hands were
tied and I would need to speak to Mr. Hively the Gen. Mgr. On 3-13-03 I again
sent my boyfriend to Nitro Dodge to inform Mr. Hively of his employees actions
which in turn said that he to has cursed at customers when making deals on vehs.
That he was not going to fix anything but he would trade with me if I wanted
to returned the veh. and that was the end of it as far as he was concerned.
I myself called Mr. Hiveley and spoke to him directly and was told that he was
not going to fix the veh. because there had been addtl. mileage put on the veh.
since the purchase date. I told him that I was filing a complaint with Consumer
Affairs, US DOT, and Dodge, and that I would be sure and tell everyone about
the customer service and how customers are treated at that dealership. He told
me that if that was the way I felt about it then we had nothing more to discuss
and slammed the phone in my ear. I am pursing this further thru the legal system
and speaking from experience I would strongly recommend that when making a decision
to purchase a new vehicle I would very strongly encourage others to deal with
a different dealership as Nitro Dodge offers very poor customer service as well
as sales as the sales dept tried to sell this veh. to me for much more than
what it was worth. Never buy a vehicle from Nitro Dodge New or Used.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Don't Know,
I was involved with the dealership as a serious potential customer. One of the
salesmen I had been working with called me to advise me that one the the models
I had been very interested in had arrived. He was preparing the vehicle for
me to test drive and one of the issues he and I discussed was inflation pressure.
I had previously test driven a vehicle there with 70psi in F & R tires which
after much debate, I dropped to 45psi F and 40psi R. During the inquiry about
inflation pressures the salesmen and I again checked the owners information
and confirmed the recommended values. Upon checking the pressures, the were
60psi all around. Again, I started to drop the pressures when the sales manager
began berating me for this action (in front of all present at the dealership).
He criticized my actions and rudely insisted that I was causing trouble for
the dealership and service department and did not know what I was doing. He
said if I bought the truck I could do whatever I wanted with the tire pressures.
I spoke with the owner a few days later and he only reluctantly expressed any
concern over the issue and never acknowledged the relevance of proper air pressures,
the error of the trucks prep by service, or the correctness of my inflation
pressure date. I would hate to think how a service problem would be handled
at this business if something this basic was approached in this manner!!
