I had my wife take my work truck in to have valves adjusted and for poor shifting
performance. They did a factory recall of the throttle linkage and didn't have
the housing on it in the proper position. The throttle cable was exposed and
plastic coated cable was catching on the fixed housing, causing the foot pedal
to stick closed. My wife picked up the truck and was backing out of a parking
place, throttle came unstuck suddenly and caused her to hit a post, wrecking
the bumper and left rear quarter panel. Took truck back to FREMONT Motors and
mechanic could not see what was wrong and blamed it on worn internal parts in
the injector pump that were repositioned with the new cable. I personally was
there for that and noticed that the dipstick was broken off and cable ties had
not been placed on new cable. They gave me a new dipstick after I complained
and I did the work of getting the broken one out of the tube, as I didn't want
that (mechanic) to touch the truck. Also discovered later that the vacuum hoses
to the axle engagement actuator had been disconnected, assume it was deliberate
as it had worked fine previously.
After contacting Dodge customer relations, they sent a rep from Washington State
to look at it. We met him at the Worland Ford/Chrysler dealership, the mechanic
there had it fixed in 5 minutes. The Dodge rep paid for this service call. FREMONT
motors would do nothing for the damages. Dodge refused to give us a copy of
this reps report (we were going to sue Fremont) and the Worland dealership had
no record of this repair.
In retrospect I must wonder if the mechanic was anti-military, my son was in
the Marines and I had stickers in the window attesting to that fact. Mechanic
is a foreigner from a Baltic region. More damage was done to the truck there
than repair.

Fremont has had a good reputation in the past. Unfortunately after my Dec visit,
I discovered they lost their diesel mechanic. His replacement was so-so. He
was rated for Ford, but not Dodge. The dealership sells both.
If they were to rehire the departed diesel mechanic I'd go back to them. But
until that happens I'll take my truck to Cummins.
