Models: 1994-1996 (BR) Ram Truck
Symptoms:
The tailgate is difficult to latch or cannot latch in cold temperatures (less than 50 F. ) .
Diagnosis:
This condition can be caused by the rubber tailgate latch stop bumper being too stiff in cold-temperatures. If you receive any complaints of this condition, perform the following repair procedure on both right and left tailgate latch mechanisms.

Repair:
This bulletin involves replacing the tailgate latch stop bumpers with revised bumpers.
1. Release tailgate-latch and open the tailgate.
2. Locate tailgate latch stop bumper (Figure 1) and use side cutters to cut the retaining nipple off the old stop bumper (Figure 2).
3. Install a new stop bumper by inserting the retaining nipple into the hole and pulling the retaining nipple through until the stop bumper is secured (figure 3).
NOTE: MAKE SURE THE STOP BUMPER IS POSITIONED CORRECTLY WITH THE STEP IN THE BUMPER BEING POSITIONED IN LINE WITH THE CATCH (FIGURE 3.).
4. Repeat the procedure for the other tailgate latch stop bumper.
